GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs ACF
1 On a day of rest—a holy day, Jesus went to eat at the home of a prominent Pharisee. The guests were watching Jesus very closely.
1 Aconteceu num sábado que, entrando ele em casa de um dos principais dos fariseus para comer pão, eles o estavam observando.
2 A man whose body was swollen with fluid was there.
2 E eis que estava ali diante dele um certo homem hidrópico.
3 Jesus reacted by asking the Pharisees and the experts in Moses’ Teachings, “Is it right to heal on the day of rest—a holy day, or not?”
3 E Jesus, tomando a palavra, falou aos doutores da lei, e aos fariseus, dizendo: É lícito curar no sábado?
4 But they didn’t say a thing.
4 Eles, porém, calaram-se. E, tomando-o, o curou e despediu.
5 Jesus asked them, “If your son or your ox falls into a well on a day of rest—a holy day, wouldn’t you pull him out immediately?”
5 E respondendo-lhes disse: Qual será de vós o que, caindo-lhe num poço, em dia de sábado, o jumento ou o boi, o não tire logo?
6 They couldn’t argue with him about this.
6 E nada lhe podiam replicar sobre isto.
7 Then Jesus noticed how the guests always chose the places of honor. So he used this illustration when he spoke to them:
7 E disse aos convidados uma parábola, reparando como escolhiam os primeiros assentos, dizendo-lhes:
8 “When someone invites you to a wedding, don’t take the place of honor. Maybe someone more important than you was invited.
8 Quando por alguém fores convidado às bodas, não te assentes no primeiro lugar; não aconteça que esteja convidado outro mais digno do que tu;
9 Then your host would say to you, ‘Give this person your place.’ Embarrassed, you would have to take the place of least honor.
9 E, vindo o que te convidou a ti e a ele, te diga: Dá o lugar a este; e então, com vergonha, tenhas de tomar o derradeiro lugar.
10 So when you’re invited, take the place of least honor. Then, when your host comes, he will tell you, ‘Friend, move to a more honorable place.’ Then all the other guests will see how you are honored.
10 Mas, quando fores convidado, vai, e assenta-te no derradeiro lugar, para que, quando vier o que te convidou, te diga: Amigo, sobe mais para cima. Então terás honra diante dos que estiverem contigo à mesa.
11 Those who honor themselves will be humbled, but people who humble themselves will be honored.”
11 Porquanto qualquer que a si mesmo se exaltar será humilhado, e aquele que a si mesmo se humilhar será exaltado.
12 Then he told the man who had invited him, “When you invite people for lunch or dinner, don’t invite only your friends, family, other relatives, or rich neighbors. Otherwise, they will return the favor.
12 E dizia também ao que o tinha convidado: Quando deres um jantar, ou uma ceia, não chames os teus amigos, nem os teus irmãos, nem os teus parentes, nem vizinhos ricos, para que não suceda que também eles te tornem a convidar, e te seja isso recompensado.
13 Instead, when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the handicapped, the lame, and the blind.
13 Mas, quando fizeres convite, chama os pobres, aleijados, mancos e cegos,
14 Then you will be blessed because they don’t have any way to pay you back. You will be paid back when those who have God’s approval come back to life.”
14 E serás bem-aventurado; porque eles não têm com que to recompensar; mas recompensado te será na ressurreição dos justos.
15 One of those eating with him heard this. So he said to Jesus, “The person who will be at the banquet in God’s kingdom is blessed.”
15 E, ouvindo isto, um dos que estavam com ele à mesa, disse-lhe: Bem-aventurado o que comer pão no reino de Deus.
16 Jesus said to him, “A man gave a large banquet and invited many people.
16 Porém, ele lhe disse: Um certo homem fez uma grande ceia, e convidou a muitos.
17 When it was time for the banquet, he sent his servant to tell those who were invited, ‘Come! Everything is ready now.’
17 E à hora da ceia mandou o seu servo dizer aos convidados: Vinde, que já tudo está preparado.
18 “Everyone asked to be excused. The first said to him, ‘I bought a field, and I need to see it. Please excuse me.’
18 E todos à uma começaram a escusar-se. Disse-lhe o primeiro: Comprei um campo, e importa ir vê-lo; rogo-te que me hajas por escusado.
19 Another said, ‘I bought five pairs of oxen, and I’m on my way to see how well they plow. Please excuse me.’
19 E outro disse: Comprei cinco juntas de bois, e vou experimentá-los; rogo-te que me hajas por escusado.
20 Still another said, ‘I recently got married, and that’s why I can’t come.’
20 E outro disse: Casei, e portanto não posso ir.
21 “The servant went back to report this to his master. Then the master of the house became angry. He told his servant, ‘Run to every street and alley in the city! Bring back the poor, the handicapped, the blind, and the lame.’
21 E, voltando aquele servo, anunciou estas coisas ao seu senhor. Então o pai de família, indignado, disse ao seu servo: Sai depressa pelas ruas e bairros da cidade, e traze aqui os pobres, e aleijados, e mancos e cegos.
22 “The servant said, ‘Sir, what you’ve ordered has been done. But there is still room for more people.’
22 E disse o servo: Senhor, feito está como mandaste; e ainda há lugar.
23 “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go to the roads and paths! Urge the people to come to my house. I want it to be full.
23 E disse o senhor ao servo: Sai pelos caminhos e valados, e força-os a entrar, para que a minha casa se encha.
24 I can guarantee that none of those invited earlier will taste any food at my banquet.’ ”
24 Porque eu vos digo que nenhum daqueles homens que foram convidados provará a minha ceia.
25 Large crowds were traveling with Jesus. He turned to them and said,
25 Ora, ia com ele uma grande multidão; e, voltando-se, disse-lhe:
26 “If people come to me and are not ready to abandon their fathers, mothers, wives, children, brothers, and sisters, as well as their own lives, they cannot be my disciples.
26 Se alguém vier a mim, e não aborrecer a seu pai, e mãe, e mulher, e filhos, e irmãos, e irmãs, e ainda também a sua própria vida, não pode ser meu discípulo.
27 So those who do not carry their crosses and follow me cannot be my disciples.
27 E qualquer que não levar a sua cruz, e não vier após mim, não pode ser meu discípulo.
28 “Suppose you want to build a tower. You would first sit down and figure out what it costs. Then you would see if you have enough money to finish it.
28 Pois qual de vós, querendo edificar uma torre, não se assenta primeiro a fazer as contas dos gastos, para ver se tem com que a acabar?
29 Otherwise, if you lay a foundation and can’t finish the building, everyone who watches will make fun of you.
29 Para que não aconteça que, depois de haver posto os alicerces, e não a podendo acabar, todos os que a virem comecem a escarnecer dele,
30 They’ll say, ‘This person started to build but couldn’t finish the job.’
30 Dizendo: Este homem começou a edificar e não pôde acabar.
31 “Or suppose a king is going to war against another king. He would first sit down and think things through. Can he and his 10,000 soldiers fight against a king with 20,000 soldiers?
31 Ou qual é o rei que, indo à guerra a pelejar contra outro rei, não se assenta primeiro a tomar conselho sobre se com dez mil pode sair ao encontro do que vem contra ele com vinte mil?
32 If he can’t, he’ll send ambassadors to ask for terms of peace while the other king is still far away.
32 De outra maneira, estando o outro ainda longe, manda embaixadores, e pede condições de paz.
33 In the same way, none of you can be my disciples unless you give up everything.
33 Assim, pois, qualquer de vós, que não renuncia a tudo quanto tem, não pode ser meu discípulo.
34 “Salt is good. But if salt loses its taste, how will you restore its flavor?
34 Bom é o sal; mas, se o sal degenerar, com que se há de salgar?
35 It’s not any good for the ground or for the manure pile. People throw it away.
35 Nem presta para a terra, nem para o monturo; lançam-no fora. Quem tem ouvidos para ouvir, ouça.
