GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs NTLH
1 ⌞Jesus continued,⌟ “I have said these things to you so that you won’t lose your faith.
1 E Jesus disse ainda:
2 You will be thrown out of synagogues. Certainly, the time is coming when people who murder you will think that they are serving God.
2 Vocês serão expulsos das
3 They will do these things to you because they haven’t known the Father or me.
3 Eles vão fazer essas coisas porque não conhecem nem o Pai nem a mim.
4 But I’ve told you this so that when it happens you’ll remember what I’ve told you. I didn’t tell you this at first, because I was with you.
4 Mas eu digo isso para que, quando essas coisas acontecerem, vocês lembrem que eu já os tinha avisado. E Jesus continuou:
5 “Now I’m going to the one who sent me. Yet, none of you asks me where I’m going.
5 Porém agora eu vou para junto daquele que me enviou. E nenhum de vocês me pergunta: “Aonde é que o senhor vai?”
6 But because I’ve told you this, you’re filled with sadness.
6 Mas, porque eu disse isso, o coração de vocês ficou cheio de tristeza.
7 However, I am telling you the truth: It’s good for you that I’m going away. If I don’t go away, the helper won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.
7 Eu falo a verdade quando digo que é melhor para vocês que eu vá. Pois, se não for, o Auxiliador não virá; mas, se eu for, eu o enviarei a vocês.
8 He will come to convict the world of sin, to show the world what has God’s approval, and to convince the world that God judges it.
8 Quando o Auxiliador vier, ele convencerá as pessoas do mundo de que elas têm uma ideia errada a respeito do pecado e do que é direito e justo e também do julgamento de Deus.
9 He will convict the world of sin, because people don’t believe in me.
9 As pessoas do mundo estão erradas a respeito do pecado porque não creem em mim;
10 He will show the world what has God’s approval, because I’m going to the Father and you won’t see me anymore.
10 estão erradas a respeito do que é direito e justo porque eu vou para o Pai, e vocês não vão me ver mais.
11 He will convince the world that God judges it, because the ruler of this world has been judged.
11 E também estão erradas a respeito do julgamento porque aquele que manda neste mundo já está julgado.
12 “I have a lot more to tell you, but that would be too much for you now.
12 — Ainda tenho muitas coisas para lhes dizer, mas vocês não poderiam suportar isso agora.
13 When the Spirit of Truth comes, he will guide you into the full truth. He won’t speak on his own. He will speak what he hears and will tell you about things to come.
13 Porém, quando o Espírito da verdade vier, ele ensinará toda a verdade a vocês. O Espírito não falará por si mesmo, mas dirá tudo o que ouviu e anunciará a vocês as coisas que estão para acontecer.
14 He will give me glory, because he will tell you what I say.
14 Ele vai ficar sabendo o que tenho para dizer, e dirá a vocês, e assim ele trará
15 Everything the Father says is also what I say. That is why I said, ‘He will take what I say and tell it to you.’
15 Tudo o que o Pai tem é meu. Por isso eu disse que o Espírito vai ficar sabendo o que eu lhe disser e vai anunciar a vocês.
16 “In a little while you won’t see me anymore. Then in a little while you will see me again.”
16 E Jesus disse:
17 Some of his disciples said to each other, “What does he mean? He tells us that in a little while we won’t see him. Then he tells us that in a little while we will see him again and that he’s going to the Father.”
17 Alguns dos seus discípulos comentaram: — O que será que ele quer dizer? Ele afirma: “Daqui a pouco vocês não vão me ver mais; porém, pouco depois, vão me ver novamente”. E diz também: “É porque vou para o meu Pai”.
18 So they were asking each other, “What does he mean when he says, ‘In a little while’? We don’t understand what he’s talking about.”
18 O que quer dizer “pouco depois”? Não entendemos o que isso quer dizer.
19 Jesus knew they wanted to ask him something. So he said to them, “Are you trying to figure out among yourselves what I meant when I said, ‘In a little while you won’t see me, and in a little while you will see me again’?
19 Jesus, sabendo que eles queriam lhe fazer perguntas, disse:
20 I can guarantee this truth: You will cry because you are sad, but the world will be happy. You will feel pain, but your pain will turn to happiness.
20 Pois eu afirmo a vocês que isto é verdade: vocês vão chorar e ficar tristes, mas as pessoas do mundo ficarão alegres. Vocês ficarão tristes, mas essa tristeza virará alegria.
21 A woman has pain when her time to give birth comes. But after the child is born, she doesn’t remember the pain anymore because she’s happy that a child has been brought into the world.
21 Quando uma mulher está para dar à luz, ela fica triste porque chegou a sua hora de sofrer. Mas, depois que a criança nasce, a mulher fica tão alegre, que nem lembra mais do seu sofrimento.
22 “Now you’re in a painful situation. But I will see you again. Then you will be happy, and no one will take that happiness away from you.
22 Assim acontece também com vocês: agora estão tristes, mas eu os verei novamente. Aí vocês ficarão cheios de alegria, e ninguém poderá tirar essa alegria de vocês.
23 When that day comes, you won’t ask me any more questions. I can guarantee this truth: If you ask the Father for anything in my name, he will give it to you.
23 — Quando chegar aquele dia, vocês não me pedirão nada. E eu afirmo a vocês que isto é verdade: se vocês pedirem ao Pai alguma coisa em meu nome, ele lhes dará.
24 So far you haven’t asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive so that you can be completely happy.
24 Até agora vocês não pediram nada em meu nome; peçam e receberão para que a alegria de vocês seja completa.
25 “I have used examples to illustrate these things. The time is coming when I won’t use examples to speak to you. Rather, I will speak to you about the Father in plain words.
25 E Jesus terminou, dizendo:
26 When that day comes, you will ask for what you want in my name. I’m telling you that I won’t have to ask the Father for you.
26 Naquele dia vocês pedirão coisas em meu nome. E eu digo que não precisarei pedir ao Pai em favor de vocês,
27 The Father loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.
27 pois o próprio Pai os ama. Ele os ama porque vocês, de fato, me amam e creem que vim de Deus.
28 I left the Father and came into the world. Again, ⌞as I’ve said,⌟ I’m going to leave the world and go back to the Father.”
28 Eu vim do Pai e entrei no mundo. E agora deixo o mundo e vou para o Pai.
29 His disciples said, “Now you’re talking in plain words and not using examples.
29 Então os seus discípulos disseram: — Agora, sim, o senhor está falando claramente e não por meio de comparações.
30 Now we know that you know everything. You don’t need to wait for questions to be asked. Because of this, we believe that you have come from God.”
30 Sabemos agora que o senhor conhece tudo e não precisa que ninguém lhe faça perguntas. Por isso nós cremos que o senhor veio de Deus.
31 Jesus replied to them, “Now you believe.
31 E Jesus respondeu:
32 The time is coming, and is already here, when all of you will be scattered. Each of you will go your own way and leave me all alone. Yet, I’m not all alone, because the Father is with me.
32 Pois chegou a hora de vocês todos serem espalhados, cada um para a sua casa; e assim vão me deixar sozinho. Mas eu não estou só, pois o Pai está comigo.
33 I’ve told you this so that my peace will be with you. In the world you’ll have trouble. But cheer up! I have overcome the world.”
33 Eu digo isso para que, por estarem unidos comigo, vocês tenham paz. No mundo vocês vão sofrer; mas tenham coragem. Eu venci o mundo.
