GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs ARA
1 When Ahaz, son of Jotham and grandson of Uzziah, was king of Judah, Aram’s King Rezin and Israel’s King Pekah, son of Remaliah, went to Jerusalem to attack it, but they couldn’t defeat it.
1 Sucedeu nos dias de Acaz, filho de Jotão, filho de Uzias, rei de Judá, que Rezim, rei da Síria, e Peca, filho de Remalias, rei de Israel, subiram a Jerusalém, para pelejarem contra ela, porém não prevaleceram contra ela.
2 When word reached David’s family that the Arameans had made an alliance with Ephraim, the hearts of the king and his people were shaken as the trees of the forest are shaken by the wind.
2 Deu-se aviso à casa de Davi: A Síria está aliada com Efraim. Então, ficou agitado o coração de Acaz e o coração do seu povo, como se agitam as árvores do bosque com o vento.
3 Then the Lord said to Isaiah, “Go out with your son Shear Jashub to meet Ahaz at the end of the ditch of the Upper Pool on the road to the Laundryman’s Field.
3 Disse o Senhor a Isaías: Agora, sai tu com teu filho, que se chama Um-Resto-Volverá, ao encontro de Acaz, que está na outra extremidade do aqueduto do açude superior, junto ao caminho do campo do lavadeiro,
4 Say to him, ‘Be careful, stay calm, and don’t be afraid. Don’t lose heart because of the fierce anger of Rezin from Aram and Remaliah’s son. These two are smoldering logs.’
4 e dize-lhe: Acautela-te e aquieta-te; não temas, nem se desanime o teu coração por causa destes dois tocos de tições fumegantes; por causa do ardor da ira de Rezim, e da Síria, e do filho de Remalias.
5 Aram, Ephraim, and Remaliah’s son have planned evil against you, saying,
5 Porquanto a Síria resolveu fazer-te mal, bem como Efraim e o filho de Remalias, dizendo:
6 ‘Let’s march against Judah, tear it apart, divide it among ourselves, and set up Tabeel’s son as its king.’
6 Subamos contra Judá, e amedrontemo-lo, e o conquistemos para nós, e façamos reinar no meio dele o filho de Tabeal.
7 This is what the Almighty Lord says:
7 Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Isto não subsistirá, nem tampouco acontecerá.
8 The capital of Aram is Damascus,
8 Mas a capital da Síria será Damasco, e o cabeça de Damasco, Rezim, e dentro de sessenta e cinco anos Efraim será destruído e deixará de ser povo.
9 The capital of Ephraim is Samaria,
9 Entretanto, a capital de Efraim será Samaria, e o cabeça de Samaria, o filho de Remalias; se o não crerdes, certamente, não permanecereis.
10 Again the Lord spoke to Ahaz,
10 E continuou o Senhor a falar com Acaz, dizendo:
11 “Ask the Lord your God for a sign. It can be anything you want.”
11 Pede ao Senhor , teu Deus, um sinal, quer seja embaixo, nas profundezas, ou em cima, nas alturas.
12 But Ahaz answered, “I won’t ask; I wouldn’t think of testing the Lord.”
12 Acaz, porém, disse: Não o pedirei, nem tentarei ao Senhor .
13 “Listen now, descendants of David,” Isaiah said. “Isn’t it enough that you try the patience of mortals? Must you also try the patience of my God?
13 Então, disse o profeta: Ouvi, agora, ó casa de Davi: acaso, não vos basta fatigardes os homens, mas ainda fatigais também ao meu Deus?
14 So the Lord himself will give you this sign: A virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and she will name him Immanuel [God Is With Us].
14 Portanto, o Senhor mesmo vos dará um sinal: eis que a virgem conceberá e dará à luz um filho e lhe chamará Emanuel.
15 He will eat cheese and honey until he knows how to reject evil and choose good.
15 Ele comerá manteiga e mel quando souber desprezar o mal e escolher o bem.
16 Indeed, before the boy knows how to reject evil and choose good, the land of the two kings who terrify you will be deserted.
16 Na verdade, antes que este menino saiba desprezar o mal e escolher o bem, será desamparada a terra ante cujos dois reis tu tremes de medo.
17 “The Lord will bring on you, your people, and your ancestor’s family a time unlike any since Ephraim broke away from Judah. ⌞He will bring⌟ the king of Assyria.
17 Mas o Senhor fará vir sobre ti, sobre o teu povo e sobre a casa de teu pai, por intermédio do rei da Assíria, dias tais, quais nunca vieram, desde o dia em que Efraim se separou de Judá.
18 On that day the Lord will whistle for the flies that are at the distant branches of the Nile River in Egypt and for the bees that are in Assyria.
18 Porque há de acontecer que, naquele dia, assobiará o Senhor às moscas que há no extremo dos rios do Egito e às abelhas que andam na terra da Assíria;
19 All of them will come and settle in the deep valleys, in the cracks in the cliffs, on all the thornbushes, and at all the water holes.
19 elas virão e pousarão todas nos vales profundos, nas fendas das rochas, em todos os espinhos e em todos os pastios.
20 “On that day the Lord will hire the king of Assyria from beyond the Euphrates River to be a razor to shave the hair on your head, the hair on your legs, and even your beard.
20 Naquele dia, rapar-te-á o Senhor com uma navalha alugada doutro lado do rio, a saber, por meio do rei da Assíria, a cabeça e os cabelos das vergonhas e tirará também a barba.
21 On that day a person will keep alive a young cow and two sheep.
21 Naquele dia, sucederá que um homem manterá apenas uma vaca nova e duas ovelhas,
22 That person will eat cheese, because they will produce so much milk. Everyone who is left in the land will eat cheese and honey.
22 e será tal a abundância de leite que elas lhe darão, que comerá manteiga; manteiga e mel comerá todo o restante no meio da terra.
23 On that day, in every place where there were 1,000 vines (worth 1,000 pieces of silver), there will be briars and thorns.
23 Também, naquele dia, todo lugar em que houver mil vides, do valor de mil siclos de prata, será para espinheiros e abrolhos.
24 People will come there with bows and arrows ⌞to hunt⌟ because the whole land will be filled with briars and thorns.
24 Com flechas e arco se entrará aí, porque os espinheiros e abrolhos cobrirão toda a terra.
25 And you will no longer be able to go to all the hills which used to be cultivated because they will be filled with briars and thorns. It will be a place for turning oxen loose and letting sheep run.”
25 Quanto a todos os montes, que os homens costumam sachar, para ali não irás por temeres os espinhos e abrolhos; serão para pasto de bois e para serem pisados de ovelhas.
