GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs ARA
1 After two full years Pharaoh had a dream. He dreamed he was standing by the Nile River.
1 Passados dois anos completos, Faraó teve um sonho. Parecia-lhe achar-se ele de pé junto ao Nilo.
2 Suddenly, seven nice-looking, well-fed cows came up from the river and began to graze among the reeds.
2 Do rio subiam sete vacas formosas à vista e gordas e pastavam no carriçal.
3 Seven other cows came up from the river behind them. These cows were sickly and skinny. They stood behind the first seven cows on the riverbank.
3 Após elas subiam do rio outras sete vacas, feias à vista e magras; e pararam junto às primeiras, na margem do rio.
4 The cows that were sickly and skinny ate the seven nice-looking, well-fed cows. Then Pharaoh woke up.
4 As vacas feias à vista e magras comiam as sete formosas à vista e gordas. Então, acordou Faraó.
5 He fell asleep again and had a second dream. Seven good, healthy heads of grain were growing on a single stalk.
5 Tornando a dormir, sonhou outra vez. De uma só haste saíam sete espigas cheias e boas.
6 Seven other heads of grain, thin and scorched by the east wind, sprouted behind them.
6 E após elas nasciam sete espigas mirradas, crestadas do vento oriental.
7 The thin heads of grain swallowed the seven full, healthy heads. Then Pharaoh woke up. It was only a dream.
7 As espigas mirradas devoravam as sete espigas grandes e cheias. Então, acordou Faraó. Fora isto um sonho.
8 In the morning he was so upset that he sent for all the magicians and wise men of Egypt. Pharaoh told them his dreams, but no one could tell him what they meant.
8 De manhã, achando-se ele de espírito perturbado, mandou chamar todos os magos do Egito e todos os seus sábios e lhes contou os sonhos; mas ninguém havia que lhos interpretasse.
9 Then the chief cupbearer spoke to Pharaoh, “I remember a promise I failed to keep.
9 Então, disse a Faraó o copeiro-chefe: Lembro-me hoje das minhas ofensas.
10 Some time ago when Pharaoh was angry with his servants, he confined me and the chief baker to the captain of the guard’s prison.
10 Estando Faraó mui indignado contra os seus servos e pondo-me sob prisão na casa do comandante da guarda, a mim e ao padeiro-chefe,
11 We both had dreams the same night. Each dream had its own meaning.
11 tivemos um sonho na mesma noite, eu e ele; sonhamos, e cada sonho com a sua própria significação.
12 A young Hebrew, a slave of the captain of the guard, was with us. We told him our dreams, and he told each of us what they meant.
12 Achava-se conosco um jovem hebreu, servo do comandante da guarda; contamos-lhe os nossos sonhos, e ele no-los interpretou, a cada um segundo o seu sonho.
13 What he told us happened: Pharaoh restored me to my position, but he hung the baker on a pole.”
13 E como nos interpretou, assim mesmo se deu: eu fui restituído ao meu cargo, o outro foi enforcado.
14 Then Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and immediately he was brought from the prison. After he had shaved and changed his clothes, he came in front of Pharaoh.
14 Então, Faraó mandou chamar a José, e o fizeram sair à pressa da masmorra; ele se barbeou, mudou de roupa e foi apresentar-se a Faraó.
15 Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I had a dream, and no one can tell me what it means. I heard that when you are told a dream, you can say what it means.”
15 Este lhe disse: Tive um sonho, e não há quem o interprete. Ouvi dizer, porém, a teu respeito que, quando ouves um sonho, podes interpretá-lo.
16 Joseph answered Pharaoh, “I can’t, but God can give Pharaoh the answer that he needs.”
16 Respondeu-lhe José: Não está isso em mim; mas Deus dará resposta favorável a Faraó.
17 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “In my dream I was standing on the bank of the Nile.
17 Então, contou Faraó a José: No meu sonho, estava eu de pé na margem do Nilo,
18 Suddenly, seven nice-looking, well-fed cows came up from the river and began to graze among the reeds.
18 e eis que subiam dele sete vacas gordas e formosas à vista e pastavam no carriçal.
19 Seven other cows came up behind them. These cows were scrawny, very sick, and thin. I’ve never seen such sickly cows in all of Egypt!
19 Após estas subiam outras vacas, fracas, mui feias à vista e magras; nunca vi outras assim disformes, em toda a terra do Egito.
20 The thin, sickly cows ate up the seven well-fed ones.
20 E as vacas magras e ruins comiam as primeiras sete gordas;
21 Even though they had eaten them, no one could tell they had eaten them. They looked just as sick as before. Then I woke up.
21 e, depois de as terem engolido, não davam aparência de as terem devorado, pois o seu aspecto continuava ruim como no princípio. Então, acordei.
22 “In my second dream I saw seven good, full heads of grain growing on a single stalk.
22 Depois, vi, em meu sonho, que sete espigas saíam da mesma haste, cheias e boas;
23 Seven other heads of grain, withered, thin, and scorched by the east wind, sprouted behind them.
23 após elas nasceram sete espigas secas, mirradas e crestadas do vento oriental.
24 The thin heads of grain swallowed the seven good heads. I told this to the magicians, but no one could tell me what it meant.”
24 As sete espigas mirradas devoravam as sete espigas boas. Contei-o aos magos, mas ninguém houve que mo interpretasse.
25 Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, “Pharaoh had the same dream twice. God has told Pharaoh what he’s going to do.
25 Então, lhe respondeu José: O sonho de Faraó é apenas um; Deus manifestou a Faraó o que há de fazer.
26 The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good heads of grain are seven years. It’s all the same dream.
26 As sete vacas boas serão sete anos; as sete espigas boas, também sete anos; o sonho é um só.
27 The seven thin, sickly cows that came up behind them are seven years. The seven empty heads of grain scorched by the east wind are also seven years. Seven years of famine are coming.
27 As sete vacas magras e feias, que subiam após as primeiras, serão sete anos, bem como as sete espigas mirradas e crestadas do vento oriental serão sete anos de fome.
28 “It’s just as I said to Pharaoh. God has shown Pharaoh what he’s going to do.
28 Esta é a palavra, como acabo de dizer a Faraó, que Deus manifestou a Faraó que ele há de fazer.
29 Seven years are coming when there will be plenty of food in Egypt.
29 Eis aí vêm sete anos de grande abundância por toda a terra do Egito.
30 After them will come seven years of famine. People will forget that there was plenty of food in Egypt, and the famine will ruin the land.
30 Seguir-se-ão sete anos de fome, e toda aquela abundância será esquecida na terra do Egito, e a fome consumirá a terra;
31 People won’t remember that there once was plenty of food in the land, because the coming famine will be so severe.
31 e não será lembrada a abundância na terra, em vista da fome que seguirá, porque será gravíssima.
32 The reason Pharaoh has had a recurring dream is because the matter has been definitely decided by God, and he will do it very soon.
32 O sonho de Faraó foi dúplice, porque a coisa é estabelecida por Deus, e Deus se apressa a fazê-la.
33 “Pharaoh should look for a wise and intelligent man and put him in charge of Egypt.
33 Agora, pois, escolha Faraó um homem ajuizado e sábio e o ponha sobre a terra do Egito.
34 Make arrangements to appoint supervisors over the land to take a fifth of Egypt’s harvest during the seven good years.
34 Faça isso Faraó, e ponha administradores sobre a terra, e tome a quinta parte dos frutos da terra do Egito nos sete anos de fartura.
35 Have them collect all the food during these good years and store up grain under Pharaoh’s control, to be kept for food in the cities.
35 Ajuntem os administradores toda a colheita dos bons anos que virão, recolham cereal debaixo do poder de Faraó, para mantimento nas cidades, e o guardem.
36 This food will be a reserve supply for our country during the seven years of famine that will happen in Egypt. Then the land will not be ruined by the famine.”
36 Assim, o mantimento será para abastecer a terra nos sete anos da fome que haverá no Egito; para que a terra não pereça de fome.
37 Pharaoh and all his servants liked the idea.
37 O conselho foi agradável a Faraó e a todos os seus oficiais.
38 So Pharaoh asked his servants, “Can we find anyone like this—a man who has God’s Spirit in him?”
38 Disse Faraó aos seus oficiais: Acharíamos, porventura, homem como este, em quem há o Espírito de Deus?
39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Because God has let you know all this, there is no one as wise and intelligent as you.
39 Depois, disse Faraó a José: Visto que Deus te fez saber tudo isto, ninguém há tão ajuizado e sábio como tu.
40 You will be in charge of my palace, and all my people will do what you say. I will be more important than you, only because I’m Pharaoh.”
40 Administrarás a minha casa, e à tua palavra obedecerá todo o meu povo; somente no trono eu serei maior do que tu.
41 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I now put you in charge of Egypt.”
41 Disse mais Faraó a José: Vês que te faço autoridade sobre toda a terra do Egito.
42 Then Pharaoh took off his signet ring and put it on Joseph’s finger. He had Joseph dressed in robes of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.
42 Então, tirou Faraó o seu anel de sinete da mão e o pôs na mão de José, fê-lo vestir roupas de linho fino e lhe pôs ao pescoço um colar de ouro.
43 He had him ride in the chariot of the second-in-command. Men ran ahead of him and shouted, “Make way!” Pharaoh put Joseph in charge of Egypt.
43 E fê-lo subir ao seu segundo carro, e clamavam diante dele: Inclinai-vos! Desse modo, o constituiu sobre toda a terra do Egito.
44 He also said to Joseph, “Even though I am Pharaoh, no one anywhere in Egypt will do anything without your permission.”
44 Disse ainda Faraó a José: Eu sou Faraó, contudo sem a tua ordem ninguém levantará mão ou pé em toda a terra do Egito.
45 Pharaoh named Joseph Zaphenathpaneah and gave him Asenath as his wife. She was the daughter of Potiphera, priest from the city of On. Joseph traveled around Egypt.
45 E a José chamou Faraó de Zafenate-Paneia e lhe deu por mulher a Asenate, filha de Potífera, sacerdote de Om; e percorreu José toda a terra do Egito.
46 Joseph was 30 years old when he entered the service of Pharaoh (the king of Egypt). He left Pharaoh and traveled all around Egypt.
46 Era José da idade de trinta anos quando se apresentou a Faraó, rei do Egito, e andou por toda a terra do Egito.
47 During the seven good years the land produced large harvests.
47 Nos sete anos de fartura a terra produziu abundantemente.
48 Joseph collected all the food grown in Egypt during those seven years and put this food in the cities. In each city he put the food from the fields around it.
48 E ajuntou José todo o mantimento que houve na terra do Egito durante os sete anos e o guardou nas cidades; o mantimento do campo ao redor de cada cidade foi guardado na mesma cidade.
49 Joseph stored up grain in huge quantities like the sand on the seashore. He had so much that he finally gave up keeping any records because he couldn’t measure it all.
49 Assim, ajuntou José muitíssimo cereal, como a areia do mar, até perder a conta, porque ia além das medidas.
50 Before the years of famine came, Joseph had two sons by Asenath, daughter of Potiphera, priest from the city of On.
50 Antes de chegar a fome, nasceram dois filhos a José, os quais lhe deu Asenate, filha de Potífera, sacerdote de Om.
51 Joseph named his firstborn son Manasseh [He Helps Me Forget], because God helped him forget all his troubles and all about his father’s family.
51 José ao primogênito chamou de Manassés, pois disse: Deus me fez esquecer de todos os meus trabalhos e de toda a casa de meu pai.
52 He named the second son Ephraim [Blessed Twice With Children], because God gave him children in the land where he had suffered.
52 Ao segundo, chamou-lhe Efraim, pois disse: Deus me fez próspero na terra da minha aflição.
53 The seven years when there was plenty of food in Egypt came to an end.
53 Passados os sete anos de abundância, que houve na terra do Egito,
54 Then the seven years of famine began as Joseph had said they would. All the other countries were experiencing famine. Yet, there was food in Egypt.
54 começaram a vir os sete anos de fome, como José havia predito; e havia fome em todas as terras, mas em toda a terra do Egito havia pão.
55 When everyone in Egypt began to feel the effects of the famine, the people cried to Pharaoh for food. But Pharaoh said to all the Egyptians, “Go to Joseph! Do what he tells you!”
55 Sentindo toda a terra do Egito a fome, clamou o povo a Faraó por pão; e Faraó dizia a todos os egípcios: Ide a José; o que ele vos disser fazei.
56 When the famine had spread all over the country, Joseph opened all the storehouses and sold grain to the Egyptians. He did this because the famine was severe in Egypt.
56 Havendo, pois, fome sobre toda a terra, abriu José todos os celeiros e vendia aos egípcios; porque a fome prevaleceu na terra do Egito.
57 The whole world came to Joseph in Egypt to buy grain, since the famine was so severe all over the world.
57 E todas as terras vinham ao Egito, para comprar de José, porque a fome prevaleceu em todo o mundo.
