GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs NVT
1 Listen, Israel, you’re about to cross the Jordan River. You’ll be forcing out nations that are larger and stronger than you, with big cities that have sky-high walls.
1 “Ouça, ó Israel! Hoje você atravessará o rio Jordão para ocupar a terra que pertence a nações muito maiores e mais poderosas que você, povos que vivem em cidades com muralhas que chegam até o céu!
2 Their people are tall and strong. They’re descendants of Anak. You know all about them. You’ve also heard it said, “Who can oppose the descendants of Anak?”
2 Seus habitantes são fortes e altos, descendentes dos famosos enaquins. Você já ouviu o ditado: ‘Quem é capaz de resistir aos enaquins?’.
3 Realize today that the Lord your God is the one who is going ahead of you like a raging fire. He will wipe them out and will use you to crush their power. You will take possession of their land and will quickly destroy them as the Lord promised you.
3 Esteja certo, porém, que hoje o S enhor , seu Deus, vai adiante de você como fogo devorador. Ele os derrotará e os humilhará diante de você, para que você os expulse e os destrua rapidamente, como o S enhor prometeu.
4 When the Lord your God expels these people in front of you, don’t say to yourselves, “Because we’ve been living right, the Lord brought us here to take possession of this land.” No, it’s because these nations are so wicked that the Lord is forcing them out of your way.
4 “Depois que o S enhor , seu Deus, tiver feito isso por você, não diga em seu coração: ‘O S enhor me deu esta terra porque sou justo’. Não! É por causa da perversidade das outras nações que ele as expulsa de diante de você.
5 It’s not because you’ve been living right or because you’re so honest that you’re entering to take possession of their land. It’s because these people are so wicked that the Lord your God is forcing them out of your way. It’s also because the Lord wants to confirm the promise he swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
5 Você não está prestes a tomar posse da terra deles porque é justo ou íntegro. O S enhor , seu Deus, expulsará essas nações de diante de você somente por causa da perversidade delas, e para cumprir o juramento que fez a seus antepassados Abraão, Isaque e Jacó.
6 So understand this: It’s not because you’ve been living right that the Lord your God is giving you this good land to possess. You are impossible to deal with!
6 Reconheça, portanto, que o S enhor , seu Deus, não lhe dá essa boa terra como propriedade porque você é justo, pois não é. Na verdade, você é um povo teimoso.”
7 Never forget how you made the Lord your God angry in the desert. You’ve rebelled against the Lord from the day you left Egypt until you came here.
7 “Lembrem-se, e jamais se esqueçam, de como vocês provocaram a ira do S enhor , seu Deus, no deserto. Desde o dia em que saíram do Egito até agora, vocês têm se rebelado contra o S enhor constantemente.
8 Even at Mount Horeb you made the Lord so angry that he wanted to destroy you.
8 Até mesmo no monte Sinai, tanto provocaram a ira do S enhor que ele esteve a ponto de destruí-los.
9 When I went up on the mountain to get the stone tablets, the tablets of the promise that the Lord made to you, I stayed on the mountain 40 days and 40 nights without food or water.
9 Isso aconteceu quando eu estava no monte, recebendo as tábuas de pedra gravadas com os termos da aliança que o S enhor tinha feito com vocês. Passei quarenta dias e quarenta noites ali e, durante todo esse tempo, não comi nem bebi coisa alguma.
10 Then the Lord gave me the two stone tablets inscribed by God himself. On them were written all the words that the Lord spoke to you from the fire on the mountain on the day of the assembly.
10 O S enhor me deu as duas tábuas nas quais gravou com seu próprio dedo todas as palavras que lhes tinha proclamado do meio do fogo quando estavam reunidos ao pé do monte.
11 At the end of the 40 days and 40 nights, the Lord gave me the two stone tablets with his promise on them.
11 “Passados os quarenta dias e quarenta noites, o S enhor me entregou as duas tábuas de pedra gravadas com os termos da aliança.
12 He told me, “Leave right away. Your people whom you brought out of Egypt have ruined ⌞everything⌟. They’ve quickly turned from the way I commanded them to live. They’ve made an idol for themselves.”
12 Então o S enhor me disse: ‘Levante-se! Desça agora mesmo, pois o povo que você tirou do Egito se corrompeu. Como se desviaram depressa do caminho que eu lhes havia ordenado! Derreteram metal e fizeram um ídolo para si!’.
13 The Lord also said to me, “I’ve seen these people, and they are impossible to deal with.
13 “O S enhor também me disse: ‘Vi como este povo é teimoso e rebelde.
14 Leave me alone! I’ll destroy them and wipe their name off the earth. Then I’ll make you into a nation larger and stronger than they are.”
14 Fique de lado, e eu os destruirei e apagarei o nome deles de debaixo do céu. Depois, farei de você e de seus descendentes uma nação mais poderosa e mais numerosa que eles’.
15 So I turned and went down the mountain while it was still burning with fire. I was carrying the two tablets with the promise on them.
15 “Então, enquanto o monte ardia em chamas, virei-me e comecei a descer, levando nas mãos as duas tábuas de pedra gravadas com os termos da aliança.
16 Then I saw that you had sinned against the Lord your God. You had made a statue of a calf for yourselves. You had quickly turned from the way the Lord commanded you to live.
16 Quando olhei para baixo, vi que vocês haviam pecado contra o S enhor , seu Deus. Tinham derretido metal e feito para si um ídolo em forma de bezerro. Como se desviaram depressa do caminho que o S enhor lhes havia ordenado!
17 I took the two tablets, threw them down, and smashed them in front of you.
17 Então peguei as duas tábuas de pedra e as joguei no chão, despedaçando-as diante de vocês.
18 Once again I threw myself down in front of the Lord. I went without food and water for 40 days and 40 nights because of the sin you committed. You did what the Lord considered evil and made him furious.
18 “Em seguida, como havia feito antes, prostrei-me diante do S enhor durante quarenta dias e quarenta noites. Não comi nem bebi coisa alguma por causa do grande pecado que vocês haviam cometido ao fazer o que era mau aos olhos do S enhor , provocando sua ira.
19 I was terrified of the Lord’s anger and fury. He was so angry he wanted to destroy you. But once more the Lord listened to me.
19 Tive muito medo por causa da ira ardente do S enhor , que ameaçava destruir vocês. Mais uma vez, porém, o S enhor me ouviu.
20 The Lord also became very angry with Aaron and wanted to destroy him. But at that time I prayed for Aaron, too.
20 O S enhor estava tão irado com Arão que também queria destruí-lo, mas eu também orei em favor de Arão.
21 I took that sinful calf you made and burned it. I crushed it, grinding it thoroughly until it was as fine as powder. Then I threw the powder into the river that flowed down the mountain.
21 Tomei o pecado de vocês, o bezerro que haviam feito, o derreti no fogo e o moí até virar pó fino. Em seguida, joguei o pó no riacho que desce do monte.
22 You also made the Lord angry at Taberah, Massah, and Kibroth Hattaavah.
22 “Vocês também provocaram a ira do S enhor em Taberá, em Massá e em Quibrote-Hataavá.
23 When the Lord sent you from Kadesh Barnea, he said, “Go and take possession of the land I’m giving you.” But you rebelled against the Lord your God’s word. You didn’t believe him or obey him.
23 E, em Cades-Barneia, o S enhor deu a seguinte ordem: ‘Subam e tomem posse da terra que eu lhes dei’. Mas vocês se rebelaram contra a ordem do S enhor , seu Deus, e não confiaram nele nem lhe obedeceram.
24 You’ve rebelled against the Lord as long as I’ve known you.
24 Sim, vocês têm se rebelado contra o S enhor desde que os conheço.
25 I threw myself down in front of the Lord for 40 days and 40 nights because the Lord said he would destroy you.
25 “Prostrei-me diante do S enhor durante quarenta dias e quarenta noites, porque o S enhor tinha dito que os destruiria.
26 I prayed to the Lord and said, “Almighty Lord, don’t destroy your people. They belong to you. You saved them by your great power and used your mighty hand to bring them out of Egypt.
26 Orei ao S enhor e disse: ‘Ó Soberano S enhor , não os destrua! Eles são o teu povo, a tua propriedade especial, a quem resgataste do Egito com teu grande poder e tua forte mão.
27 Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Disregard the stubbornness, wickedness, and sin of these people.
27 Peço que te lembres dos teus servos Abraão, Isaque e Jacó, e não leves em conta a teimosia, a perversidade e o pecado deste povo.
28 Otherwise, the country we left will say, “The Lord wasn’t able to bring them to the land he promised them. He hated them. That’s why he brought them out—to let them die in the desert.”
28 Se o destruíres, os egípcios dirão: ‘Eles morreram porque o S enhor não foi capaz de levá-los à terra que tinha prometido lhes dar’. Ou talvez digam: ‘Ele os destruiu porque os odiava; levou-os ao deserto de propósito para matá-los’.
29 They are your people. They belong to you. You used your great strength and powerful arm to bring them out ⌞of Egypt⌟.
29 No entanto, eles são o teu povo e a tua propriedade especial, que tiraste do Egito com tua grande força e teu braço poderoso’.”
