1 This is what you must do if a husband writes out a certificate of divorce, gives it to his wife, and makes her leave his house. (He divorced her because he found out something indecent about her and she no longer pleased him.)
1 Quando um homem tomar uma mulher, e a desposar, e acontecer dela não encontrar benevolência aos seus olhos, por ele ter encontrado nela alguma impureza, então ele lhe escreverá uma carta de divórcio, e a entregará na sua mão, e a despedirá de sua casa.
2 She might marry another man after she leaves his house.
2 E depois que ela tiver partido da casa dele, ela poderá ir e ser a esposa de outro homem.
3 If her second husband doesn’t love her and divorces her, or if he dies,
3 E se o último marido a odiar, e lhe escrever uma carta de divórcio, e a entregar na sua mão, e a despedir de sua casa; ou se morrer o último marido que a tomou para ser sua esposa,
4 her first husband is not allowed to marry her again. She has become unclean. This would be disgusting in the Lord’s presence. Don’t pollute with sin the land that the Lord your God is giving you as your property.
4 o seu primeiro marido, que a despediu, não poderá tomá-la outra vez para ser sua esposa, depois que ela estiver contaminada, porque isso é abominação diante do SENHOR; e não farás com que peque a terra que o SENHOR teu Deus te dá como herança.
5 A man who has recently been married will be free from military duty or any other public service. For one year he is free to stay at home and make his new wife happy.
5 Quando um homem tomar uma nova esposa, não irá à guerra, nem será encarregado de nenhuma incumbência, mas ficará livre em casa durante um ano, e alegrará a esposa que tomou.
6 Never let a family’s handmill for grinding flour—or even part of a handmill—be taken to guarantee a loan. The family wouldn’t be able to prepare food in order to stay alive.
6 Nenhum homem tomarás como penhor nenhuma das duas pedras do moinho, nem a de baixo nem a de cima, pois seria como tomar em penhor a vida.
7 Whoever kidnaps another Israelite must die. The kidnapper must die, whether he treated the other person like a slave or sold him. You must get rid of this evil.
7 Se um homem for encontrado roubando algum dos seus irmãos, dos filhos de Israel, e comercializá-lo ou vendê-lo, então esse ladrão morrerá, e afastarás o mal do vosso meio.
8 Guard against outbreaks of serious skin diseases. Be very careful to do exactly as the Levitical priests instruct you. Make sure you do what I commanded them.
8 Guarda-te da praga da lepra, e observa diligentemente, que faças conforme tudo o que os sacerdotes, os levitas, vos ensinarem; como lhes ordenei, assim cuidareis e fareis.
9 Remember what the Lord your God did to Miriam on your trip from Egypt.
9 Lembra-te do que o SENHOR teu Deus fez a Miriã pelo caminho, depois que saístes do Egito.
10 When you make a loan to your neighbor, don’t go into his house to take a security deposit.
10 Quando emprestares alguma coisa a teu irmão, não entrarás em sua casa para tirar o seu penhor.
11 Wait outside, and the person to whom you’re making the loan will bring the deposit out to you.
11 Ficarás do lado de fora, e o homem a quem emprestastes te trará o penhor para fora.
12 If the person is poor, don’t keep the coat you took as a deposit overnight.
12 E se o homem for pobre, não dormirás com o seu penhor;
13 Make sure you bring it back to him at sunset. When he wears his coat to bed ⌞that night⌟, he’ll bless you. You will have done the right thing in the presence of the Lord your God.
13 de qualquer forma, lhe devolverás o penhor quando o sol se pôr, para que ele possa dormir na sua própria veste, e te abençoar; e isso será justiça para ti diante do SENHOR teu Deus.
14 Don’t withhold pay from hired workers who are poor and needy, whether they are Israelites or foreigners living in one of your cities.
14 Não oprimirás um servo contratado, que é pobre e necessitado, quer seja um dos teus irmãos, ou dos teus estrangeiros, que estão na tua terra, dentro das tuas portas;
15 Pay them each day before sunset because they are poor and need their pay. Otherwise, they will complain to the Lord about you, and you will be condemned for your sin.
15 no seu dia lhe darás o seu salário, e o sol não se porá sobre ele, porque ele é pobre, e põe o seu coração sobre ele para que ele não clame contra ti ao SENHOR, e para que não haja pecado em ti.
16 Parents must never be put to death for the crimes of their children, and children must never be put to death for the crimes of their parents. Each person must be put to death for his own crime.
16 Os pais não serão mortos pelos filhos, nem os filhos serão mortos pelos pais; cada homem será morto pelo seu próprio pecado.
17 Never deprive foreigners and orphans of justice. And never take widows’ clothes to guarantee a loan.
17 Não perverterás o juízo do estrangeiro, nem do órfão; nem tomarás a veste de uma viúva como penhor;
18 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and the Lord your God freed you from slavery. So I’m commanding you to do this.
18 mas te lembrarás de que foste servo no Egito, e o SENHOR teu Deus te resgatou de lá; portanto eu te ordeno que faças isso.
19 This is what you must do when you’re harvesting wheat in your field. If you forget to bring in one of the bundles of wheat, don’t go back to get it. Leave it there for foreigners, orphans, and widows. Then the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do.
19 Quando segares a tua colheita no teu campo, e esqueceres um molho no campo, não voltarás para apanhá-lo; será para o estrangeiro, para o órfão e para a viúva; para que o SENHOR teu Deus possa te abençoar em toda a obra das tuas mãos.
20 When you harvest olives from your trees, never knock down all of them. Leave some for foreigners, orphans, and widows.
20 Quando sacudires a tua oliveira, não voltarás para sacudir outra vez os ramos; será para o estrangeiro, para o órfão e para a viúva.
21 When you pick the grapes in your vineyard, don’t pick all of them. Leave some for foreigners, orphans, and widows.
21 Quando colheres as uvas de tua vinha, não as colherás outra vez; será para o estrangeiro, para o órfão e para a viúva.
22 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt. So I’m commanding you to do this.
22 E te lembrarás de que foste um servo na terra do Egito; portanto te ordeno que faças isso.
