GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs BKJ
1 In Ahaz’s twelfth year as king of Judah, Hoshea, son of Elah, began to rule as king of Israel in Samaria. He ruled for nine years.
1 No décimo segundo ano de Acaz, rei de Judá, Oseias, o filho de Elá, começou a reinar em Samaria sobre Israel: nove anos.
2 He did what the Lord considered evil, but he didn’t do what the kings of Israel before him had done.
2 E ele fez aquilo que era mau à vista do SENHOR, mas não como os reis de Israel que foram antes dele.
3 King Shalmaneser of Assyria defeated Hoshea, who became his servant and was required to make annual payments to him.
3 Contra ele subiu Salmaneser, rei da Assíria; e Oseias se tornou seu servo, e lhe dava presentes.
4 The king of Assyria found Hoshea to be a traitor. (Hoshea had sent messengers to King Dais of Egypt and had stopped making annual payments to the king of Assyria.) So the king of Assyria arrested him and put him in prison.
4 E o rei da Assíria achou conspiração em Oseias; porque ele havia enviado mensageiros a Sô, rei do Egito, e não trouxe presente algum ao rei da Assíria, como ele havia feito ano a ano; portanto, o rei da Assíria o encarcerou, e o trancafiou na prisão.
5 Then the king of Assyria attacked the entire country. He attacked Samaria and blockaded it for three years.
5 Então, o rei da Assíria subiu por toda a terra, e subiu para Samaria, e a sitiou três anos.
6 In Hoshea’s ninth year as king of Israel, the king of Assyria captured Samaria and took the Israelites to Assyria as captives. He settled them in Halah, along the Habor River in Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
6 No nono ano de Oseias, o rei da Assíria tomou Samaria, e conduziu Israel para a Assíria, e os assentou em Hala e em Habor junto ao rio de Gozã, e nas cidades dos medos.
7 The Israelites sinned against the Lord their God, who brought them out of Egypt ⌞and rescued them⌟ from the power of Pharaoh (the king of Egypt). They worshiped other gods
7 Pois assim foi, que os filhos de Israel haviam pecado contra o SENHOR seu Deus, o qual lhes tinha feito subir da terra do Egito, de debaixo da mão de Faraó, rei do Egito, e haviam temido outros deuses,
8 and lived by the customs of the nations that the Lord had forced out of the Israelites’ way. They also did what their kings wanted them to do.
8 e andado nos estatutos dos pagãos, aos quais o SENHOR expulsou de diante dos filhos de Israel, e dos reis de Israel, os quais eles haviam feito.
9 The Israelites secretly did things against the Lord their God that weren’t right:
9 E os filhos de Israel fizeram secretamente aquelas coisas que não eram retas, contra o SENHOR seu Deus, e edificaram para si lugares altos em todas as suas cidades, desde a torre dos atalaias, até a cidade fortificada.
10 They set up sacred stones and poles dedicated to the goddess Asherah on every high hill and under every large tree.
10 E eles ergueram para si imagens e bosques em todo outeiro alto, e debaixo de toda árvore verde;
11 At all the illegal places of worship, they sacrificed in the same way as the nations that the Lord had removed from the land ahead of them.
11 e ali queimaram incenso em todos os lugares altos, como fizeram os pagãos aos quais o SENHOR levou para longe deles; e operaram coisas malignas para provocar o SENHOR à ira;
12 They served idols, although the Lord had said, “Never do this.”
12 porque eles serviram aos ídolos, dos quais o SENHOR lhes havia dito: Vós não fareis esta coisa.
13 The Lord had warned Israel and Judah through every kind of prophet and seer, “Turn from your evil ways, and obey my commands and decrees as I commanded your ancestors in all my teachings, the commands I sent to you through my servants the prophets.”
13 Contudo, o SENHOR testificou contra Israel, e contra Judá, por intermédio de todos os profetas, e de todos os videntes, dizendo: Volvei-vos dos vossos caminhos maus, e guardeis os meus mandamentos e os meus estatutos, segundo toda a lei que ordenei aos vossos pais, e que enviei a vós por intermédio dos meus servos, os profetas.
14 But they refused to listen. They became as impossible to deal with as their ancestors who refused to trust the Lord their God.
14 Não obstante, eles não quiseram ouvir, mas endureceram o pescoço, como o pescoço dos seus pais, que não creram no SENHOR seu Deus.
15 They rejected his decrees, the promise he made to their ancestors, and the warnings he had given them. They went after worthless idols and became as worthless as the idols. They behaved like the nations around them, although the Lord had commanded them not to do that.
15 E rejeitaram os seus estatutos, e o seu pacto que ele fez com os seus pais, e os seus testemunhos, os quais testificou contra eles; e seguiram a vaidade, e se tornaram vãos, e foram atrás dos pagãos que estavam ao seu redor, acerca dos quais o SENHOR lhes havia ordenado de que não deveriam fazer como eles.
16 They abandoned all the commands of the Lord their God:
16 E eles abandonaram todos os mandamentos do SENHOR seu Deus, e fizeram para si imagens derretidas, dois bezerros, e fizeram um bosque, e adoraram todo o exército do céu, e serviram a Baal.
17 They sacrificed their sons and daughters by burning them alive.
17 E eles fizeram com que os seus filhos e suas filhas passassem através do fogo, e usaram adivinhação e encantamento, e venderam-se para fazer o mal à vista do SENHOR, para provocá-lo à ira.
18 The Lord became so angry with Israel that he removed them from his sight. Only the tribe of Judah was left.
18 Portanto, o SENHOR ficou mui irado com Israel, e removeu-os da sua vista; não houve nenhum restante, senão a tribo de Judá.
19 Even Judah didn’t obey the commands of the Lord their God but lived according to Israel’s customs.
19 Além disso, Judá não guardou os mandamentos do SENHOR seu Deus, mas andou nos estatutos de Israel, os quais eles fizeram.
20 So the Lord rejected all of Israel’s descendants, made them suffer, handed them over to those who looted their property, and finally turned away from Israel.
20 E o SENHOR rejeitou toda a semente de Israel, e os afligiu, e os entregou na mão de espoliadores, até que ele lhes lançou fora da sua vista.
21 When he tore Israel away from the family of David, the people of Israel made Jeroboam (Nebat’s son) king. Jeroboam forced Israel away from the Lord and led them to commit a serious sin.
21 Porque ele rasgou Israel da casa de Davi; e eles fizeram de Jeroboão, o filho de Nebate, rei; e Jeroboão desviou Israel de seguir o SENHOR, e fê-los pecar um grande pecado.
22 The Israelites followed all the sins Jeroboam committed and never turned away from them.
22 Porquanto os filhos de Israel andaram em todos os pecados de Jeroboão, os quais ele cometeu; deles não se apartaram;
23 Finally, the Lord turned away from Israel as he had said he would through all his servants, the prophets. So the people of Israel were taken from their land to Assyria as captives, and they are still there today.
23 até que o SENHOR removeu Israel da sua vista, segundo ele tinha dito por intermédio de todos os seus servos, os profetas. Assim, Israel foi trasladado da sua própria terra para a Assíria até este dia.
24 The king of Assyria brought people from Babylon, Cuthah, Avva, Hamath, and Sepharvaim and settled them in the cities of Samaria in place of the Israelites. They took over Samaria and lived in its cities.
24 E o rei da Assíria trouxe homens de Babilônia, e de Cuta, e de Ava, e de Hamate, e de Sefarvaim, e os colocou nas cidades de Samaria, no lugar dos filhos de Israel; e eles tomaram posse de Samaria, e habitaram nas suas cidades.
25 When they first came to live there, they didn’t worship the Lord. So the Lord sent lions to kill some of them.
25 E assim foi no princípio da sua habitação ali, que eles não temiam o SENHOR; por isso o SENHOR enviou leões para o meio deles, os quais mataram a alguns deles.
26 Then someone said to the king of Assyria, “The people you took as captives and settled in the cities of Samaria don’t know the customs of the god of that country, so he sent lions. Now the lions are killing them because they don’t know the customs of the god of this country.”
26 Porquanto eles falaram ao rei da Assíria, dizendo: As nações que tu tens removido, e assentado nas cidades de Samaria, não conhecem o costume do Deus da terra; por isso ele tem enviado leões para o meio deles, e, eis que eles os matam porque eles não conhecem o costume do Deus da terra.
27 The king of Assyria gave this command: “Bring one of the priests you captured from there. Let him go back to teach them the customs of the god of that country.”
27 Então, o rei da Assíria ordenou, dizendo: Levai para lá um dos sacerdotes que trouxestes de lá; e deixe-os ir e habite ali, e ensine-lhes o costume do Deus dessa terra.
28 So one of the priests who had been taken prisoner from Samaria went to live in Bethel. He taught them how to worship the Lord.
28 Então, um dos sacerdotes que eles haviam levado para Samaria veio e habitou em Betel, e ensinou-lhes como eles deveriam temer o SENHOR.
29 But each group ⌞that settled in Samaria⌟ continued to make its own gods. They put them at the illegal places of worship, which the people of Samaria had made. Each group did this in the cities where they lived:
29 Todavia, cada nação fazia os seus próprios deuses, e os colocava nas casas dos lugares altos que os samaritanos haviam feito, cada nação nas suas cidades nas quais habitavam.
30 The people from Babylon made Succoth Benoth.
30 E os homens de Babilônia fizeram Sucote-Benote, e os homens de Cute fizeram Nergal, e os homens de Hamate fizeram Asima;
31 The people from Avva made Nibhaz and Tartak.
31 e os aveus fizeram Nibaz e Tartaque, e os sefarvitas queimavam os seus filhos no fogo para Adrameleque e Anameleque, os deuses de Sefarvaim.
32 So while these people were worshiping the Lord, they also appointed all kinds of people to serve as priests for the shrines at their illegal places of worship.
32 Assim, eles temeram ao SENHOR, e fizeram para si, dos menores deles, sacerdotes dos lugares altos, os quais sacrificavam para eles nas casas dos lugares altos.
33 They worshiped the Lord but also served their own gods according to the customs of the nations from which they had come.
33 Eles temiam ao SENHOR, e serviam aos seus próprios deuses, segundo o costume das nações de onde haviam sido levados cativos.
34 Today they are still following their customs, as they’ve done from the beginning. They don’t fear the Lord or live by the decrees, customs, teachings, or commands that the Lord gave to the descendants of Jacob (whom he named Israel).
34 Até este dia eles fazem segundo os costumes anteriores. Eles não temem ao SENHOR, nem fazem segundo os seus estatutos, ou segundo as suas ordenanças, ou segundo a lei e o mandamento que o SENHOR ordenou aos filhos de Jacó, a quem chamou de Israel;
35 When the Lord made a promise to Israel, he commanded, “Never worship other gods, bow down to them, serve them, or sacrifice to them.
35 com quem o SENHOR havia feito um pacto, e lhes incumbiu, dizendo: Vós não temereis outros deuses, nem vos curvareis a eles, nem os servireis, tampouco sacrificareis a eles.
36 Instead, worship the Lord, who used his great power and a mighty arm to bring you out of Egypt. Bow down to the Lord, and sacrifice to him.
36 Porém o SENHOR, que vos fez subir da terra do Egito com grande poder e braço estendido, a ele temereis, e a ele adorareis, e a ele fareis sacrifício.
37 Faithfully obey the laws, rules, teachings, and commands that he wrote for you: ‘Never worship other gods.
37 E os estatutos, e as ordenanças, e a lei, e o mandamento, o qual para vós escreveu, vós observareis para cumpri-los pela eternidade; e não temereis outros deuses.
38 Never forget the promise I made to you. Never worship other gods.
38 E o pacto que tenho feito convosco, vós não esquecereis; nem temereis outros deuses.
39 Instead, worship the Lord your God, and he will rescue you from your enemies.’ ”
39 Porém, o SENHOR vosso Deus temereis; e ele vos livrará da mão de todos os vossos inimigos.
40 The people of Israel had refused to listen and made up their own rules, as they had done from the beginning.
40 Todavia eles não atentaram, mas fizeram segundo o seu costume anterior.
41 These ⌞other⌟ nations worshiped the Lord but also served their own idols. So did their children and their grandchildren. They still do whatever their ancestors did.
41 Assim, estas nações temiam o SENHOR, e serviam as suas imagens esculpidas, tanto os seus filhos, quanto os filhos dos seus filhos; como fizeram os seus pais, assim também fazem eles até este dia.
