1 Solomon finished building the Lord’s temple, the royal palace, and everything ⌞else⌟ he wanted to build.
1 Salomão terminou de construir o templo do S enhor e o palácio real. Concluiu tudo que havia planejado fazer.
2 Then the Lord appeared to him a second time, as he had appeared to him in Gibeon.
2 Então o S enhor apareceu a Salomão pela segunda vez, como havia aparecido em Gibeom.
3 The Lord said to him,
3 O S enhor lhe disse: “Ouvi sua oração e sua súplica. Consagrei este templo que você construiu, onde meu nome será honrado para sempre. Olharei continuamente para ele, com todo o meu coração.
4 “If you will be faithful to me as your father David was
4 “Quanto a você, se me seguir com integridade e retidão, como fez seu pai, Davi, obedecendo a todos os meus mandamentos, decretos e estatutos,
5 then I will establish your royal dynasty over Israel forever
5 estabelecerei o trono de sua dinastia sobre Israel para sempre. Pois fiz esta promessa a seu pai, Davi: ‘Um de seus descendentes sempre se sentará no trono de Israel’.
6 But if you and your descendants dare to turn away from me
6 “Mas, se você ou seus descendentes me abandonarem e desobedecerem a meus mandamentos e decretos, seguindo e adorando outros deuses,
7 then I will cut Israel out of the land I gave them.
7 arrancarei Israel desta terra que lhe dei. Rejeitarei este templo que consagrei em honra ao meu nome, e farei de Israel objeto de zombaria e desprezo entre as nações.
8 Everyone passing by this temple, as impressive as it is, will be appalled.
8 E, embora este templo seja agora imponente, todos que passarem perto dele ficarão chocados e horrorizados. Perguntarão: ‘Por que o S enhor fez coisas tão terríveis com esta terra e com este templo?’.
9 They will answer ⌞themselves⌟,
9 “E a resposta será: ‘Porque os israelitas abandonaram o S enhor , seu Deus, que tirou seus antepassados da terra do Egito e, em lugar dele, adoraram outros deuses e se prostraram diante deles. Por isso o S enhor trouxe sobre eles essas calamidades’”.
10 It took Solomon 20 years to build the two houses (the Lord’s house and the royal palace).
10 Salomão levou vinte anos para construir o templo do S enhor e o palácio real. Depois desse tempo,
11 ⌞When King Solomon had finished,⌟ he gave King Hiram of Tyre 20 cities in Galilee. (Hiram had supplied Solomon with as much cedar and cypress lumber and gold as he wanted.)
11 Salomão deu a Hirão, rei de Tiro, vinte cidades da Galileia. Hirão havia fornecido toda a madeira de cedro e de cipreste e todo o ouro que Salomão havia pedido.
12 Hiram left Tyre to see the cities Solomon gave him. However, they didn’t please him.
12 Contudo, quando Hirão veio de Tiro para ver as cidades que Salomão lhe tinha dado, não ficou nada satisfeito com elas.
13 “What kind of cities have you given me, brother?” he asked. So he named it the region of Cabul [Good for Nothing]. (⌞They’re⌟ still ⌞called⌟ that today.)
13 “Que espécie de cidades são essas, meu irmão?”, perguntou ele. Então Hirão chamou aquela região de Cabul, como é conhecida até hoje.
14 Hiram had sent the king 9,000 pounds of gold.
14 Hirão tinha enviado a Salomão 4.200 quilos de ouro.
15 This is the record of the forced laborers whom King Solomon drafted to build the Lord’s house, his own house, the Millo, the walls of Jerusalem, and ⌞the cities of⌟ Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.
15 Este é o relato do trabalho forçado que o rei Salomão impôs para a construção do templo do S enhor , do palácio real, do aterro e do muro de Jerusalém, além das cidades de Hazor, Megido e Gezer.
16 (The king of Egypt captured Gezer, burned it down, and killed the Canaanites living there. Then he gave it to his daughter, Solomon’s wife, as a wedding present.)
16 (O faraó, rei do Egito, havia atacado e conquistado Gezer. Matou seus habitantes cananeus, incendiou a cidade e a deu como presente à sua filha quando ela se casou com Salomão.
17 So Solomon rebuilt Gezer, Lower Beth Horon,

18 Baalath, Tadmor in the desert (inside the country), and
18 Baalate e Tamar, no deserto daquela região.
19 all the storage cities that he owned. He also built cities for his chariots, cities for his war horses, and whatever ⌞else⌟ he wanted to build in Jerusalem, Lebanon, or the entire territory that he governed.
19 Construiu cidades para servirem como centros de armazenamento e também cidades para seus carros de guerra e cavalos. Construiu tudo que desejou em Jerusalém, no Líbano e em todo o reino.
20 The Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites had been left ⌞in the land⌟ because the Israelites had not been able to claim them for God by destroying them. They were not Israelites,
20 Ainda havia na terra habitantes que não eram israelitas: amorreus, hititas, ferezeus, heveus e jebuseus.
21 but they had descendants who were still in the land. Solomon drafted them for slave labor. (They are still ⌞slaves⌟ today.)
21 Eram descendentes das nações que os israelitas não haviam destruído completamente. Salomão os recrutou para trabalhos forçados, e é nessa condição que trabalham até hoje.
22 But Solomon didn’t make any of the Israelites slaves. Instead, they were soldiers, officials, officers, generals, and commanders of his chariot and cavalry units.
22 Mas Salomão não recrutou nenhum israelita para trabalhos forçados; eles o serviram como soldados, funcionários do governo, oficiais e capitães de seu exército, comandantes de carros de guerra e cavaleiros.
23 These were the officers in charge of Solomon’s projects: 550 foremen for the people who did the work.
23 Nomeou 550 israelitas para supervisionarem os trabalhadores de seus vários projetos.
24 Pharaoh’s daughter moved from the City of David to the palace that Solomon had built for her. Then he built the Millo.
24 Salomão transferiu a residência de sua esposa, a filha do faraó, da Cidade de Davi para o novo palácio que ele havia construído para ela. Depois, construiu o aterro.
25 Three times a year Solomon sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings on the altar he built for the Lord. He burnt them on the altar that was in the Lord’s presence. And he finished the temple.
25 Três vezes por ano, Salomão apresentava holocaustos e ofertas de paz sobre o altar que havia construído para o S enhor e também queimava incenso perante o S enhor . Assim, ele terminou o trabalho de construção do templo.
26 King Solomon also built a fleet near the Red Sea coast at Ezion Geber by Elath in Edom.
26 O rei Salomão também construiu navios em Eziom-Geber, um porto próximo a Elate, na terra de Edom, às margens do mar Vermelho.
27 Hiram sent his own servants ⌞who were⌟ experienced seamen with the fleet. Along with Solomon’s servants
27 Hirão enviou uma frota com marinheiros experientes para servirem nas tripulações dos navios, junto com os marinheiros de Salomão.
28 they went to Ophir, got 31,500 pounds of gold, and brought it to King Solomon.
28 Navegaram a Ofir e trouxeram para Salomão 14.700 quilos de ouro.
