1 “For the leader of the music. To be sung to the tune of “The dumb dove among strangers.” A psalm of David, when the Philistines took him in Gath.” Have pity upon me, O God! for man panteth for my life; My adversary daily oppresseth me!
1 Tem misericórdia de mim, ó Deus, porque o homem procura devorar-me; pelejando todo dia, me oprime.
2 Mine enemies daily pant for my life, And many are they who war proudly against me.
2 Os meus inimigos procuram devorar-me todo dia; pois são muitos os que pelejam contra mim, ó Altíssimo.
3 When I am in fear, I will put my trust in thee!
3 Em qualquer tempo em que eu temer, confiarei em ti.
4 Through God shall I praise his word; In God do I put my trust; I will not fear; What can flesh do to me?
4 Em Deus louvarei a sua palavra, em Deus pus a minha confiança; não temerei o que me possa fazer a carne.
5 Every day they wrest my words; All their thoughts are against me for evil.
5 Todos os dias torcem as minhas palavras; todos os seus pensamentos são contra mim para o mal.
6 They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they watch my steps, Lying in wait for my life.
6 Ajuntam-se, escondem-se, marcam os meus passos, como aguardando a minha alma.
7 Shall they escape by their iniquity? In thine anger cast down the people, O God!
7 Porventura escaparão eles por meio da sua iniqüidade? Ó Deus, derruba os povos na tua ira!
8 Count thou my wanderings; Put my tears into thy bottle! Are they not recorded in thy book?
8 Tu contas as minhas vagueações; põe as minhas lágrimas no teu odre. Não estão elas no teu livro?
9 When I cry to thee, my enemies shall turn back; This I know, that God is for me.
9 Quando eu a ti clamar, então voltarão para trás os meus inimigos: isto sei eu, porque Deus é por mim.
10 Through God shall I praise his word; I shall glory in the promise of Jehovah.
10 Em Deus louvarei a sua palavra; no Senhor louvarei a sua palavra.
11 In God do I put my trust; I will not fear: What can man do to me?
11 Em Deus tenho posto a minha confiança; não temerei o que me possa fazer o homem.
12 Thy vows are upon me, O God! I will render praises to thee!
12 Os teus votos estão sobre mim, ó Deus; eu te renderei ações de graças;
13 For thou hast delivered me from death, Yea, my feet from falling, That I may walk before God in the light of the living.
13 Pois tu livraste a minha alma da morte; não livrarás os meus pés da queda, para andar diante de Deus na luz dos viventes?
