1 Praise ye the LORD! For it is good to sing praise to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is becoming.
1 Louvai ao Senhor; porque é bom cantar louvores ao nosso Deus; pois isso é agradável, e decoroso é o louvor.
2 The LORD buildeth up Jerusalem; He gathereth together the dispersed of Israel.
2 O Senhor edifica Jerusalém, congrega os dispersos de Israel;
3 He healeth the broken in heart, And bindeth up their wounds.
3 sara os quebrantados de coração, e cura-lhes as feridas;
4 He counteth the number of the stars; He calleth them all by their names.
4 conta o número das estrelas, chamando-as a todas pelos seus nomes.
5 Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.
5 Grande é o nosso Senhor, e de grande poder; não há limite ao seu entendimento.
6 The LORD lifteth up the lowly; He casteth the wicked down to the ground.
6 O Senhor eleva os humildes, e humilha os perversos até a terra.
7 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; Sing praises upon the harp to our God!
7 Cantai ao Senhor em ação de graças; com a harpa cantai louvores ao nosso Deus.
8 Who covereth the heavens with clouds, Who prepareth rain for the earth, Who causeth grass to grow upon the mountains.
8 Ele é que cobre o céu de nuvens, que prepara a chuva para a terra, e que faz produzir erva sobre os montes;
9 He giveth to the cattle their food. And to the young ravens, when they cry.
9 que dá aos animais o seu alimento, e aos filhos dos corvos quando clamam.
10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse, He taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
10 Não se deleita na força do cavalo, nem se compraz nas pernas do homem.
11 The LORD taketh pleasure in those who fear him, In those who trust in his mercy.
11 O Senhor se compraz nos que o temem, nos que esperam na sua benignidade.
12 Praise the LORD. O Jerusalem! Praise thy God, O Zion!
12 Louva, ó Jerusalém, ao Senhor; louva, ó Sião, ao teu Deus.
13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; He hath blessed thy children within thee.
13 Porque ele fortalece as trancas das tuas portas; abençoa aos teus filhos dentro de ti.
14 He maketh peace in thy borders, And satisfieth thee with the finest of the wheat.
14 Ele é quem estabelece a paz nas tuas fronteiras; quem do mais fino trigo te farta;
15 He sendeth forth his command to the earth; His word runneth very swiftly.
15 quem envia o seu mandamento pela terra; a sua palavra corre mui velozmente.
16 He giveth snow like wool, And scattereth the hoar-frost like ashes.
16 Ele dá a neve como lã, esparge a geada como cinza,
17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels; Who can stand before his cold?
17 e lança o seu gelo em pedaços; quem pode resistir ao seu frio?
18 He sendeth forth his word, and melteth them; He causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.
18 Manda a sua palavra, e os derrete; faz soprar o vento, e correm as águas;
19 He publisheth his word to Jacob, His statutes and laws to Israel.
19 ele revela a sua palavra a Jacó, os seus estatutos e as suas ordenanças a Israel.
20 He hath dealt in this manner with no other nation; And, as for his ordinances, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD!
20 Não fez assim a nenhuma das outras nações; e, quanto às suas ordenanças, elas não as conhecem. Louvai ao Senhor!
