1 “Do not let your (pl) heart be distressed; you believe into God and you believe into me.
1 Não se turbe o vosso coração; credes em Deus, crede também em mim.
2 In my Father's house are many dwellings(otherwise I would have told you).I am going away to prepare a place for you.
2 Na casa de meu Pai há muitas mansões; se não fosse assim, eu vo-lo teria dito. Eu vou preparar-vos um lugar.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, so that where I am you may be also.
3 E quando eu for e vos preparar um lugar, eu voltarei novamente, e vos receberei para mim mesmo, para que, onde eu estou, ali possais estar vós também.
4 Now you know where I am going, and you know the way.”
4 E para onde eu vou vós sabeis, e o caminho vós conheceis.
5 Thomas says to Him, “Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
5 Disse-lhe Tomé: Senhor, nós não sabemos para onde vais, e como nós podemos conhecer o caminho?
6 Jesus says to him: “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one goes to the Father except through me.
6 Disse-lhe Jesus: Eu sou o caminho, a verdade, e a vida; ninguém vem ao Pai, senão por mim.
7 If you had known me, you would have known my Father as well;from now on you both know Him and have seen Him.”
7 Se vós me conhecêsseis, também conheceríeis a meu Pai; e desde agora o conheceis, e o tendes visto.
8 Philip says to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”
8 Disse-lhe Filipe: Senhor, mostra-nos o Pai, e isso nos é suficiente.
9 Jesus says to him: “Such a long time I have been with you, and you have not known me, Philip?He who has seen me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
9 Disse-lhe Jesus: Há tanto tempo que estou convosco, e ainda não me conheces, Filipe? Quem tem visto a mim, tem visto o Pai, e como então tu dizes: Mostra-nos o Pai?
10 Don't you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own; rather it is the Father who dwells in me who does the works.
10 Não crês tu que eu estou no Pai, e que o Pai está em mim? As palavras que eu vos digo, não as digo de mim mesmo, mas o Pai, que permanece em mim, é quem faz as obras.
11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or else, believe me because of the works themselves.
11 Crede-me que estou no Pai, e o Pai, em mim; ou senão, crede-me por causa das obras em si.
12 “Most assuredly I say to you,the one believing into me, he too will do the works that I do;in fact he will do greater works than these,because I am going to my Father.
12 Na verdade, na verdade eu vos digo: Aquele que crê em mim também fará as obras que eu faço, e fará maiores obras do que estas, porque eu vou para meu Pai.
13 Further, whatever you (pl) may ask in my name,that I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
13 E tudo quanto pedirdes em meu nome, eu o farei, para que o Pai possa ser glorificado no Filho.
14 If you ask anything in my name, I will do it!
14 Se pedirdes alguma coisa em meu nome, eu o farei.
15 If you love me, keep my commandments.
15 Se vós me amais, guardai os meus mandamentos.
16 Also,I will ask the Father and He will give you another Enabler,so that He may stay with you throughout the age
16 E eu orarei ao Pai, e ele vos dará outro Consolador, para que ele possa habitar convosco para sempre,
17 —the Spirit of the Truth,whom the world is unable to receive,because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you do know Him, because He is staying with you and will be in you.
17 o Espírito da verdade, que o mundo não pode receber, porque não o vê, nem o conhece; mas vós o conheceis, porque ele habita convosco, e estará em vós.
18 “I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you [shortly].
18 Eu não vos deixarei sem consolo, eu voltarei para vós.
19 In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Because I live you also will live.
19 Ainda um pouco, e o mundo não me verá mais, mas vós me vereis; porque eu vivo, e vós vivereis também.
20 In that dayyou will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.
20 Naquele dia sabereis que eu estou no meu Pai, e vós em mim, e eu em vós.
21 The one who has my commandments and keeps them, he is the one who loves me. Now the one who loves me will be loved by my Father; and I will love him, and reveal myself to him.”
21 Aquele que tem os meus mandamentos e os guarda, esse é o que me ama; e aquele que me ama será amado de meu Pai, e eu o amarei, e me manifestarei a ele.
22 Judas (not the Iscariot) says to Him, “Lord, just how is it that You are going to reveal Yourself to us and not to the world?”
22 Disse-lhe Judas, não o Iscariotes: Senhor, como é isto que te hás de manifestar a nós, e não ao mundo?
23 Jesus answered and said to him: “If anyone loves me he will keep my word. So my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
23 Jesus respondeu e disse-lhe: Se alguém me ama, ele guardará as minhas palavras; e meu Pai o amará, e iremos a ele, e faremos nossa morada nele.
24 The one who does not love me does not keep my words;further, the word which you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me.
24 Quem não me ama, não guarda as minhas palavras; e a palavra que ouvis não é minha, mas do Pai que me enviou.
25 “I have spoken these things to you while being with you.
25 Essas coisas vos tenho dito, estando ainda convosco.
26 But the Enabler, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and remind you of everything I said to you.
26 Mas o Consolador, que é o Espírito Santo, que o Pai enviará em meu nome, ele vos ensinará todas as coisas, e vos trará à lembrança todas as coisas, tudo quanto eu vos tenho dito.
27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; it is not like the world gives that I give to you.Do not let your heart be distressed or intimidated.
27 Eu deixo-vos a paz, a minha paz eu vos dou; não a dou como o mundo a dá. Não se turbe o vosso coração, nem fiquem com medo.
28 “You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me you would have been glad that I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ because my Father is greater than I.
28 Ouvistes o que eu vos disse: Eu vou e voltarei a vós. Se me amásseis, alegrar-vos-íeis por eu ter dito: Eu vou para o Pai, porque meu Pai é maior do que eu.
29 I have told you now, before it happens, so that when it does happen you may believe.
29 E agora eu vos digo antes que aconteça, para que, quando acontecer, vós possais crer.
30 “I will no longer talk much with you, because the ruler of the world is approaching;actually, he has nothing in me.
30 Daqui em diante eu não falarei muito convosco, porque vem o príncipe deste mundo, e ele nada tem em mim.
31 Rather, I habitually do just as the Father commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father.“Get up, let us leave here.
31 Mas para que o mundo possa saber que eu amo o Pai, e como o Pai me ordenou, desta forma eu o faço. Levantai-vos, vamo-nos daqui.
