1 He[F] raised you up as well, when you were dead in your transgressions and sins,
1 Ele lhes deu vida, quando vocês estavam mortos em suas transgressões e pecados,
2 in which you once walked, according to the Aeon of this world, the ruler of the domain of the air, the spirit who is now at work in the sons of the disobedience;
2 nos quais vocês andaram noutro tempo, segundo o curso deste mundo, segundo o príncipe da potestade do ar, do espírito que agora atua nos filhos da desobediência.
3 among whom all of us also used to conduct ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the flesh and of the senses,and were by nature children of wrath,just like the rest.
3 Entre eles também nós todos andamos no passado, segundo as inclinações da nossa carne, fazendo a vontade da carne e dos pensamentos; e éramos por natureza filhos da ira, como também os demais.
4 But God—being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
4 Mas Deus, sendo rico em misericórdia, por causa do grande amor com que nos amou,
5 even when we were dead in our transgressions—made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)
5 e estando nós mortos em nossas transgressões, nos deu vida juntamente com Cristo — pela graça vocês são salvos —
6 and raised us up together and seated us together in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
6 e juntamente com ele nos ressuscitou e com ele nos fez assentar nas regiões celestiais em Cristo Jesus.
7 in order that in the coming ages He might display the surpassing riches of His grace, through His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
7 Deus fez isso para mostrar nos tempos vindouros a suprema riqueza da sua graça, em bondade para conosco, em Cristo Jesus.
8 For by grace you have been saved, through the Faith—and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God—
8 Porque pela graça vocês são salvos, mediante a fé; e isto não vem de vocês, é dom de Deus;
9 not by works, so that no one may boast.
9 não de obras, para que ninguém se glorie.
10 You see, we are His ‘poem’,created in Christ Jesus for good works,which God prepared in advance in order that we should walk in them.
10 Pois somos feitura dele, criados em Cristo Jesus para boas obras, as quais Deus de antemão preparou para que andássemos nelas.
11 So then, remember that once you physical Gentiles—called ‘uncircumcision’ by the so-called ‘circumcision’ (that made in flesh with hands)—
11 Portanto, lembrem-se de que no passado vocês eram gentios na carne, chamados incircuncisão por aqueles que se intitulam circuncisão, que é feita na carne por mãos humanas.
12 that at that time you were apart from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and strangers to the covenants of the promise,having no hope and without God in the world.
12 Naquele tempo vocês estavam sem Cristo, separados da comunidade de Israel e estranhos às alianças da promessa, não tendo esperança e sem Deus no mundo.
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have come to be near through the blood of the Christ.
13 Mas agora, em Cristo Jesus, vocês, que antes estavam longe, foram aproximados pelo sangue de Cristo.
14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one and broken down the barrier of separation—the law with its commandments and ordinances—
14 Porque ele é a nossa paz. De dois povos ele fez um só e, na sua carne, derrubou a parede de separação que estava no meio, a inimizade.
15 having abolished the enmity through His ‘flesh’,so as to mold the two [Jew and Gentile] into one new man in Himself (thus making peace),
15 Cristo aboliu a lei dos mandamentos na forma de ordenanças, para que dos dois criasse em si mesmo uma nova humanidade, fazendo a paz,
16 and to reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross (by which He killed the enmity).
16 e reconciliasse ambos em um só corpo com Deus, por meio da cruz, destruindo a inimizade por meio dela.
17 He came and proclaimed peace to us,being both far and near,
17 E, quando veio, Cristo evangelizou paz a vocês que estavam longe e paz também aos que estavam perto;
18 because through Him we both have access to the Father, by one Spirit.
18 porque, por meio dele, ambos temos acesso ao Pai em um só Espírito.
19 So then, you are no longer strangers and aliens, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of God's household,
19 Assim, vocês não são mais estrangeiros e peregrinos, mas concidadãos dos santos e membros da família de Deus,
20 built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone;
20 edificados sobre o fundamento dos apóstolos e profetas, sendo ele mesmo, Cristo Jesus, a pedra angular.
21 in whom the whole building, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord;
21 Nele, todo o edifício, bem-ajustado, cresce para ser um santuário dedicado ao Senhor.
22 in whom you also are being built together to become a habitation of God in spirit.
22 Nele também vocês estão sendo edificados, junto com os outros, para serem morada de Deus no Espírito.
