1 That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have witnessed with our eyes, that which we contemplated and our hands handledwith reference to the word of the Life
1 Estamos escrevendo a vocês a respeito da Palavra da vida, que existiu desde a criação do mundo. Nós a ouvimos e com os nossos próprios olhos a vimos. De fato, nós a vimos, e as nossas mãos tocaram nela.
2 —oh yes, the Life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and declare to you that eternal Life who was in the presence of the Father and was manifested to us—
2 Quando essa vida apareceu, nós a vimos. É por isso que agora falamos dela e anunciamos a vocês a vida eterna que estava com o Pai e que nos foi revelada.
3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, so that you also may have fellowship with us;indeed, our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.
3 Contamos a vocês o que vimos e ouvimos para que vocês estejam unidos conosco, assim como nós estamos unidos com o Pai e com Jesus Cristo, o seu Filho.
4 Yes, we write these things to you so that ourjoy may be fulfilled.
4 Escrevemos isso para que a nossa alegria seja completa.
5 Now this is the message that we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and there is no darknessat all in Him.
5 A mensagem que Cristo nos deu e que anunciamos a vocês é esta: Deus é luz , e não há nele nenhuma escuridão .
6 If we claim that we have fellowship with Him while walking in the darkness, we are lying and not living the truth.
6 Portanto, se dizemos que estamos unidos com Deus e ao mesmo tempo vivemos na escuridão, então estamos mentindo com palavras e ações.
7 But if we walk in the light just as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus ChristHis Son cleanses us from all sin.
7 Porém, se vivemos na luz, como Deus está na luz, então estamos unidos uns com os outros, e o sangue de Jesus, o seu Filho, nos limpa de todo pecado.
8 If we claim that we have no sin,we are deceiving ourselves and the Truth is not in us.
8 Se dizemos que não temos pecados, estamos nos enganando, e não há verdade em nós.
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous so as to forgive us those sins and to cleanseus from all unrighteousness.
9 Mas, se confessarmos os nossos pecados a Deus, ele cumprirá a sua promessa e fará o que é correto: ele perdoará os nossos pecados e nos limpará de toda maldade.
10 If we claim that we have not sinned,we call Him a liar and His Word is not in us.
10 Se dizemos que não temos cometido pecados, fazemos de Deus um mentiroso, e a sua mensagem não está em nós.
