5 Tendes vivido em delícias e em dissoluções sobre a terra, e saciastes os vossos corações para o dia da matança!

6 Condenastes e matastes o justo, e ele não vos resistiu.

7 Tende, pois, paciência, meus irmãos, até a vinda do Senhor. Vede o lavrador: ele aguarda o precioso fruto da terra e tem paciência até receber a chuva do outono e a da primavera.

8 Tende também vós paciência e fortalecei os vossos corações, porque a vinda do Senhor está próxima.

9 Não vos queixeis uns dos outros, para que não sejais julgados. Eis que o juiz está à porta.
10 Take|strong="G2983", my|strong="G3450" brethren|strong="G0080", the prophets|strong="G4396", who|strong="G3739" have spoken|strong="G2980" in the name|strong="G3686" of the Lord|strong="G2962", for an example|strong="G5262" of suffering affliction|strong="G2552", and|strong="G2532" of patience|strong="G3115".
10 Tomai, irmãos, por modelo de paciência e de coragem os profetas, que falaram em nome do Senhor.
11 Behold|strong="G2400", we count|strong="G3106" them|strong="G3588" happy|strong="G3106" which endure|strong="G5278". Ye have heard|strong="G0191" of the patience|strong="G5281" of Job|strong="G2492", and|strong="G2532" have seen|strong="G1492" the end|strong="G5056" of the Lord|strong="G2962"; that|strong="G3754" the Lord|strong="G2962" is|strong="G2076" very pitiful|strong="G4184", and|strong="G2532" of tender mercy|strong="G3629".
11 Vós sabeis que felicitamos os que suportam os sofrimentos de Jó. Vós conheceis o fim em que o Senhor o colocou, porque o Senhor é misericordioso e compassivo.
12 But|strong="G1161" above|strong="G4253" all things|strong="G3956", my|strong="G3450" brethren|strong="G0080", swear|strong="G3660" not|strong="G3361", neither|strong="G3383" by heaven|strong="G3772", neither|strong="G3383" by the earth|strong="G1093", neither|strong="G3383" by any|strong="G5100" other|strong="G0243" oath|strong="G3727": but|strong="G1161" let|strong="G2277" your|strong="G5216" yea|strong="G3483" be|strong="G2277" yea|strong="G3483"; and|strong="G2532" your nay|strong="G3756", nay|strong="G3756"; lest|strong="G2443" ye fall|strong="G4098" into|strong="G1519" condemnation|strong="G5272".
12 Antes de mais nada, meus irmãos, abstende-vos de jurar. Não jureis nem pelo céu nem pela terra, nem empregueis qualquer outra fórmula de juramento. Que vosso sim, seja sim; que vosso não, seja não. Assim não caireis ao golpe do julgamento.

13 Alguém entre vós está triste? Reze! Está alegre? Cante.
14 Is|strong="G0770" any|strong="G5100" sick|strong="G0770" among|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5213"? let him call|strong="G4341" for the elders|strong="G4245" of the church|strong="G1577"; and|strong="G2532" let them pray|strong="G4336" over|strong="G1909" him|strong="G0846", anointing|strong="G0218" him|strong="G0846" with oil|strong="G1637" in|strong="G1722" the name|strong="G3686" of the Lord|strong="G2962":
14 Está alguém enfermo? Chame os sacerdotes da Igreja, e estes façam oração sobre ele, ungindo-o com óleo em nome do Senhor.
15 And|strong="G2532" the prayer|strong="G2171" of faith|strong="G4102" shall save|strong="G4982" the sick|strong="G2577", and|strong="G2532" the Lord|strong="G2962" shall raise|strong="G1453" him|strong="G0846" up|strong="G1453"; and if|strong="G2579" he have committed|strong="G4160" sins|strong="G0266", they|strong="G0863" shall be|strong="G5600" forgiven|strong="G0863" him|strong="G0846".
15 A oração da fé salvará o enfermo e o Senhor o restabelecerá. Se ele cometeu pecados, ser-lhe-ão perdoados.
16 Confess|strong="G1843" your faults|strong="G3900" one to another|strong="G0240", and|strong="G2532" pray|strong="G2172" one|strong="G0240" for|strong="G5228" another|strong="G0240", that|strong="G3704" ye may be healed|strong="G2390". The effectual fervent|strong="G1754" prayer|strong="G1162" of a righteous man|strong="G1342" availeth|strong="G2480" much|strong="G4183".
16 Confessai os vossos pecados uns aos outros, e orai uns pelos outros para serdes curados. A oração do justo tem grande eficácia.
17 Elias|strong="G2243" was|strong="G2258" a man|strong="G0444" subject to like passions|strong="G3663" as we are|strong="G2254", and|strong="G2532" he prayed|strong="G4336" earnestly|strong="G4335" that it might|strong="G1026" not|strong="G3361" rain|strong="G1026": and|strong="G2532" it rained|strong="G1026" not|strong="G3756" on|strong="G1909" the earth|strong="G1093" by the space of three|strong="G5140" years|strong="G1763" and|strong="G2532" six|strong="G1803" months|strong="G3376".
17 Elias era um homem pobre como nós e orou com fervor para que não chovesse sobre a terra, e por três anos e seis meses não choveu.

18 Orou de novo, e o céu deu chuva, e a terra deu o seu fruto.
19 Brethren|strong="G0080", if|strong="G1437" any|strong="G5100" of|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5213" do err|strong="G4105" from|strong="G0575" the truth|strong="G0225", and|strong="G2532" one|strong="G5100" convert|strong="G1994" him|strong="G0846";
19 Meus irmãos, se alguém fizer voltar ao bom caminho algum de vós que se afastou para longe da verdade,
20 Let him know|strong="G1097", that|strong="G3754" he which converteth|strong="G1994" the sinner|strong="G0268" from|strong="G1537" the error|strong="G4106" of his|strong="G0846" way|strong="G3598" shall save|strong="G4982" a soul|strong="G5590" from|strong="G1537" death|strong="G2288", and|strong="G2532" shall hide|strong="G2572" a multitude|strong="G4128" of sins|strong="G0266".
20 saiba: aquele que fizer um pecador retroceder do seu erro, salvará sua alma da morte e fará desaparecer uma multidão de pecados.
