Provérbios 6

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

My son|strong="H1121", if thou be surety|strong="H6148" for thy friend|strong="H7453", if thou hast stricken|strong="H8628" thy hand|strong="H3709" with a stranger|strong="H2114",

Thou art snared|strong="H3369" with the words|strong="H0561" of thy mouth|strong="H6310", thou art taken|strong="H3920" with the words|strong="H0561" of thy mouth|strong="H6310".

Do|strong="H6213" this now|strong="H0645", my son|strong="H1121", and deliver|strong="H5337" thyself, when thou art come|strong="H0935" into the hand|strong="H3709" of thy friend|strong="H7453"; go|strong="H3212", humble|strong="H7511" thyself, and make sure|strong="H7292" thy friend|strong="H7453".

Give|strong="H5414" not sleep|strong="H8142" to thine eyes|strong="H5869", nor slumber|strong="H8572" to thine eyelids|strong="H6079".

Deliver|strong="H5337" thyself as a roe|strong="H6643" from the hand|strong="H3027" of the hunter, and as a bird|strong="H6833" from the hand|strong="H3027" of the fowler|strong="H3353".

Go|strong="H3212" to the ant|strong="H5244", thou sluggard|strong="H6102"; consider|strong="H7200" her ways|strong="H1870", and be wise|strong="H2449":

Which having no guide|strong="H7101", overseer|strong="H7860", or ruler|strong="H4910",

Provideth|strong="H3559" her meat|strong="H3899" in the summer|strong="H7019", and gathereth|strong="H0103" her food|strong="H3978" in the harvest|strong="H7105".

How long wilt thou sleep|strong="H7901", O sluggard|strong="H6102"? when wilt thou arise|strong="H6965" out of thy sleep|strong="H8142"?

Yet a little|strong="H4592" sleep|strong="H8142", a little|strong="H4592" slumber|strong="H8572", a little|strong="H4592" folding|strong="H2264" of the hands|strong="H3027" to sleep|strong="H7901":

So shall thy poverty|strong="H7389" come|strong="H0935" as one that travelleth|strong="H1980", and thy want|strong="H4270" as an armed|strong="H4043" man|strong="H0376".

A naughty|strong="H1100" person|strong="H0120", a wicked|strong="H0205" man|strong="H0376", walketh|strong="H1980" with a froward|strong="H6143" mouth|strong="H6310".

He winketh|strong="H7169" with his eyes|strong="H5869", he speaketh|strong="H4448" with his feet|strong="H7272", he teacheth|strong="H3384" with his fingers|strong="H0676";

Frowardness|strong="H8419" is in his heart|strong="H3820", he deviseth|strong="H2790" mischief|strong="H7451" continually|strong="H6256"; he soweth|strong="H7971" discord|strong="H4066".

Therefore shall his calamity|strong="H0343" come|strong="H0935" suddenly|strong="H6597"; suddenly|strong="H6621" shall he be broken|strong="H7665" without remedy|strong="H4832".

These six|strong="H8337" things doth the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hate|strong="H8130": yea, seven|strong="H7651" are an abomination|strong="H8441" unto him|strong="H5315":

A proud|strong="H7311" look|strong="H5869", a lying|strong="H8267" tongue|strong="H3956", and hands|strong="H3027" that shed|strong="H8210" innocent|strong="H5355" blood|strong="H1818",

An heart|strong="H3820" that deviseth|strong="H2790" wicked|strong="H0205" imaginations|strong="H4284", feet|strong="H7272" that be swift|strong="H4116" in running|strong="H7323" to mischief|strong="H7451",

A false|strong="H8267" witness|strong="H5707" that speaketh|strong="H6315" lies|strong="H3577", and he that soweth|strong="H7971" discord|strong="H4090" among brethren|strong="H0251".

My son|strong="H1121", keep|strong="H5341" thy father’s|strong="H0001" commandment|strong="H4687", and forsake|strong="H5203" not the law|strong="H8451" of thy mother|strong="H0517":

Bind|strong="H7194" them continually|strong="H8548" upon thine heart|strong="H3820", and tie|strong="H6029" them about thy neck|strong="H1621".

When thou goest|strong="H1980", it shall lead|strong="H5148" thee; when thou sleepest|strong="H7901", it shall keep|strong="H8104" thee; and when thou awakest|strong="H6974", it shall talk|strong="H7878" with thee.

For the commandment|strong="H4687" is a lamp|strong="H5216"; and the law|strong="H8451" is light|strong="H0216"; and reproofs|strong="H8433" of instruction|strong="H4148" are the way|strong="H1870" of life|strong="H2416":

To keep|strong="H8104" thee from the evil|strong="H7451" woman|strong="H0802", from the flattery|strong="H2513" of the tongue|strong="H3956" of a strange woman|strong="H5237".

Lust|strong="H2530" not after her beauty|strong="H3308" in thine heart|strong="H3824"; neither let her take|strong="H3947" thee with her eyelids|strong="H6079".

For by means of|strong="H1157" a whorish|strong="H2181" woman|strong="H0802" a man is brought to a piece|strong="H3603" of bread|strong="H3899": and the adulteress|strong="H0802" will hunt|strong="H6679" for the precious|strong="H3368" life|strong="H5315".

Can a man|strong="H0376" take|strong="H2846" fire|strong="H0784" in his bosom|strong="H2436", and his clothes|strong="H0899" not be burned|strong="H8313"?

Can one|strong="H0376" go|strong="H1980" upon hot coals|strong="H1513", and his feet|strong="H7272" not be burned|strong="H3554"?

So he that goeth in|strong="H0935" to his neighbour’s|strong="H7453" wife|strong="H0802"; whosoever toucheth|strong="H5060" her shall not be innocent|strong="H5352".

Men do not despise|strong="H0936" a thief|strong="H1590", if he steal|strong="H1589" to satisfy|strong="H4390" his soul|strong="H5315" when he is hungry|strong="H7456";

But if he be found|strong="H4672", he shall restore|strong="H7999" sevenfold|strong="H7659"; he shall give|strong="H5414" all the substance|strong="H1952" of his house|strong="H1004".

But whoso committeth adultery|strong="H5003" with a woman|strong="H0802" lacketh|strong="H2638" understanding|strong="H3820": he that doeth|strong="H6213" it destroyeth|strong="H7843" his own soul|strong="H5315".

A wound|strong="H5061" and dishonour|strong="H7036" shall he get|strong="H4672"; and his reproach|strong="H2781" shall not be wiped away|strong="H4229".

For jealousy|strong="H7068" is the rage|strong="H2534" of a man|strong="H1397": therefore he will not spare|strong="H2550" in the day|strong="H3117" of vengeance|strong="H5359".

He will not regard|strong="H5375" any ransom|strong="H3724"; neither will he rest content|strong="H0014", though thou givest many|strong="H7235" gifts|strong="H7810".
