Provérbios 1

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

The proverbs|strong="H4912" of Solomon|strong="H8010" the son|strong="H1121" of David|strong="H1732", king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478";

To know|strong="H3045" wisdom|strong="H2451" and instruction|strong="H4148"; to perceive|strong="H0995" the words|strong="H0561" of understanding|strong="H0998";

To receive|strong="H3947" the instruction|strong="H4148" of wisdom|strong="H7919", justice|strong="H6664", and judgment|strong="H4941", and equity|strong="H4339";

To give|strong="H5414" subtilty|strong="H6195" to the simple|strong="H6612", to the young man|strong="H5288" knowledge|strong="H1847" and discretion|strong="H4209".

A wise|strong="H2450" man will hear|strong="H8085", and will increase|strong="H3254" learning|strong="H3948"; and a man of understanding|strong="H0995" shall attain|strong="H7069" unto wise counsels|strong="H8458":

To understand|strong="H0995" a proverb|strong="H4912", and the interpretation|strong="H4426"; the words|strong="H1697" of the wise|strong="H2450", and their dark sayings|strong="H2420".

The fear|strong="H3374" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* is the beginning|strong="H7225" of knowledge|strong="H1847": but fools|strong="H0191" despise|strong="H0936" wisdom|strong="H2451" and instruction|strong="H4148".

My son|strong="H1121", hear|strong="H8085" the instruction|strong="H4148" of thy father|strong="H0001", and forsake|strong="H5203" not the law|strong="H8451" of thy mother|strong="H0517":

For they shall be an ornament|strong="H3880" of grace|strong="H2580" unto thy head|strong="H7218", and chains|strong="H6060" about thy neck|strong="H1621".

My son|strong="H1121", if sinners|strong="H2400" entice|strong="H6601" thee, consent|strong="H0014" thou not.

If they say|strong="H0559", Come|strong="H3212" with us, let us lay wait|strong="H0693" for blood|strong="H1818", let us lurk|strong="H6845" privily for the innocent|strong="H5355" without cause|strong="H2600":

Let us swallow them up|strong="H1104" alive|strong="H2416" as the grave|strong="H7585"; and whole|strong="H8549", as those that go down|strong="H3381" into the pit|strong="H0953":

We shall find|strong="H4672" all precious|strong="H3368" substance|strong="H1952", we shall fill|strong="H4390" our houses|strong="H1004" with spoil|strong="H7998":

Cast|strong="H5307" in thy lot|strong="H1486" among|strong="H8432" us; let us all have one|strong="H0259" purse|strong="H3599":

My son|strong="H1121", walk|strong="H3212" not thou in the way|strong="H1870" with them; refrain|strong="H4513" thy foot|strong="H7272" from their path|strong="H5410":

For their feet|strong="H7272" run|strong="H7323" to evil|strong="H7451", and make haste|strong="H4116" to shed|strong="H8210" blood|strong="H1818".

Surely in vain|strong="H2600" the net|strong="H7568" is spread|strong="H2219" in the sight|strong="H5869" of any bird|strong="H1167".

And they lay wait|strong="H0693" for their own blood|strong="H1818"; they lurk privily|strong="H6845" for their own lives|strong="H5315".

So are the ways|strong="H0734" of every one that is greedy|strong="H1214" of gain|strong="H1215"; which taketh away|strong="H3947" the life|strong="H5315" of the owners|strong="H1167" thereof.

Wisdom|strong="H2454" crieth|strong="H7442" without|strong="H2351"; she uttereth|strong="H5414" her voice|strong="H6963" in the streets|strong="H7339":

She crieth|strong="H7121" in the chief place|strong="H7218" of concourse|strong="H1993", in the openings|strong="H6607" of the gates|strong="H8179": in the city|strong="H5892" she uttereth|strong="H0559" her words|strong="H0561", saying,

How long, ye simple ones|strong="H6612", will ye love|strong="H0157" simplicity|strong="H6612"? and the scorners|strong="H3887" delight|strong="H2530" in their scorning|strong="H3944", and fools|strong="H3684" hate|strong="H8130" knowledge|strong="H1847"?

Turn|strong="H7725" you at my reproof|strong="H8433": behold, I will pour out|strong="H5042" my spirit|strong="H7307" unto you, I will make known|strong="H3045" my words|strong="H1697" unto you.

Because I have called|strong="H7121", and ye refused|strong="H3985"; I have stretched out|strong="H5186" my hand|strong="H3027", and no man regarded|strong="H7181";

But ye have set at nought|strong="H6544" all my counsel|strong="H6098", and would|strong="H0014" none of my reproof|strong="H8433":

I also will laugh|strong="H7832" at your calamity|strong="H0343"; I will mock|strong="H3932" when your fear|strong="H6343" cometh|strong="H0935";

When your fear|strong="H6343" cometh|strong="H0935" as desolation|strong="H7722", and your destruction|strong="H0343" cometh|strong="H0857" as a whirlwind|strong="H5492"; when distress|strong="H6869" and anguish|strong="H6695" cometh|strong="H0935" upon you.

Then shall they call|strong="H7121" upon me, but I will not answer|strong="H6030"; they shall seek me early|strong="H7836", but they shall not find|strong="H4672" me:

For that they hated|strong="H8130" knowledge|strong="H1847", and did not choose|strong="H0977" the fear|strong="H3374" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*:

They would|strong="H0014" none of my counsel|strong="H6098": they despised|strong="H5006" all my reproof|strong="H8433".

Therefore shall they eat|strong="H0398" of the fruit|strong="H6529" of their own way|strong="H1870", and be filled|strong="H7646" with their own devices|strong="H4156".

For the turning away|strong="H4878" of the simple|strong="H6612" shall slay|strong="H2026" them, and the prosperity|strong="H7962" of fools|strong="H3684" shall destroy|strong="H0006" them.

But whoso hearkeneth|strong="H8085" unto me shall dwell|strong="H7931" safely|strong="H0983", and shall be quiet|strong="H7599" from fear|strong="H6343" of evil|strong="H7451".
