Oséias 13

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

When Ephraim|strong="H0669" spake|strong="H1696" trembling|strong="H7578", he exalted|strong="H5375" himself in Israel|strong="H3478"; but when he offended|strong="H0816" in Baal|strong="H1168", he died|strong="H4191".

And now they sin|strong="H2398" more and more|strong="H3254", and have made|strong="H6213" them molten images|strong="H4541" of their silver|strong="H3701", and idols|strong="H6091" according to their own understanding|strong="H8394", all of it the work|strong="H4639" of the craftsmen|strong="H2796": they say|strong="H0559" of them, Let the men|strong="H0120" that sacrifice|strong="H2076" kiss|strong="H5401" the calves|strong="H5695".

Therefore they shall be as the morning|strong="H1242" cloud|strong="H6051", and as the early|strong="H7925" dew|strong="H2919" that passeth away|strong="H1980", as the chaff|strong="H4671" that is driven with the whirlwind|strong="H5590" out of the floor|strong="H1637", and as the smoke|strong="H6227" out of the chimney|strong="H0699".

Yet I am the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" from the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714", and thou shalt know|strong="H3045" no god|strong="H0430" but me|strong="H2108": for there is no saviour|strong="H3467" beside me|strong="H1115".

I did know|strong="H3045" thee in the wilderness|strong="H4057", in the land|strong="H0776" of great drought|strong="H8514".

According to their pasture|strong="H4830", so were they filled|strong="H7646"; they were filled|strong="H7646", and their heart|strong="H3820" was exalted|strong="H7311"; therefore have they forgotten|strong="H7911" me.

Therefore I will be unto them as a lion|strong="H7826": as a leopard|strong="H5246" by the way|strong="H1870" will I observe|strong="H7789" them:

I will meet|strong="H6298" them as a bear|strong="H1677" that is bereaved|strong="H7909" of her whelps, and will rend|strong="H7167" the caul|strong="H5458" of their heart|strong="H3820", and there will I devour|strong="H0398" them like a lion|strong="H3833": the wild|strong="H7704" beast|strong="H2416" shall tear|strong="H1234" them.

O Israel|strong="H3478", thou hast destroyed|strong="H7843" thyself; but in me is thine help|strong="H5828".

I will|strong="H0165" be thy king|strong="H4428": where|strong="H0645" is any other that may save|strong="H3467" thee in all thy cities|strong="H5892"? and thy judges|strong="H8199" of whom thou saidst|strong="H0559", Give|strong="H5414" me a king|strong="H4428" and princes|strong="H8269"?

I gave|strong="H5414" thee a king|strong="H4428" in mine anger|strong="H0639", and took|strong="H3947" him away in my wrath|strong="H5678".

The iniquity|strong="H5771" of Ephraim|strong="H0669" is bound up|strong="H6887"; his sin|strong="H2403" is hid|strong="H6845".

The sorrows|strong="H2256" of a travailing woman|strong="H3205" shall come|strong="H0935" upon him: he is an unwise|strong="H2450" son|strong="H1121"; for he should not stay|strong="H5975" long|strong="H6256" in the place of the breaking forth|strong="H4866" of children|strong="H1121".

I will ransom|strong="H6299" them from the power|strong="H3027" of the grave|strong="H7585"; I will redeem|strong="H1350" them from death|strong="H4194": O death|strong="H4194", I will|strong="H0165" be thy plagues|strong="H1698"; O grave|strong="H7585", I will|strong="H0165" be thy destruction|strong="H6987": repentance|strong="H5164" shall be hid|strong="H5641" from mine eyes|strong="H5869".

Though he be fruitful|strong="H6500" among his brethren|strong="H0251", an east wind|strong="H6921" shall come|strong="H0935", the wind|strong="H7307" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall come up|strong="H5927" from the wilderness|strong="H4057", and his spring|strong="H4726" shall become dry|strong="H0954", and his fountain|strong="H4599" shall be dried up|strong="H2717": he shall spoil|strong="H8154" the treasure|strong="H0214" of all pleasant|strong="H2532" vessels|strong="H3627".

Samaria|strong="H8111" shall become desolate|strong="H0816"; for she hath rebelled|strong="H4784" against her God|strong="H0430": they shall fall|strong="H5307" by the sword|strong="H2719": their infants|strong="H5768" shall be dashed in pieces|strong="H7376", and their women with child|strong="H2030" shall be ripped up|strong="H1234".
