2 And|strong="G2532" said|strong="G2036" unto|strong="G3816" his|strong="G0846" servants|strong="G3816", This|strong="G3778" is|strong="G2076" John|strong="G2491" the Baptist|strong="G0910"; he|strong="G0846" is risen|strong="G1453" from|strong="G0575" the dead|strong="G3498"; and|strong="G2532" therefore|strong="G1223" mighty works|strong="G1411" do shew forth themselves|strong="G1754" in|strong="G1722" him|strong="G0846".
3 For|strong="G1063" Herod|strong="G2264" had laid hold on|strong="G2902" John|strong="G2491", and bound|strong="G1210" him|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" put|strong="G5087" him in|strong="G1722" prison|strong="G5438" for|strong="G1223" Herodias’ sake|strong="G2266", his|strong="G0846" brother|strong="G0080" Philip’s|strong="G5376" wife|strong="G1135".
4 For|strong="G1063" John|strong="G2491" said|strong="G3004" unto him|strong="G0846", It is|strong="G1832" not|strong="G3756" lawful|strong="G1832" for thee|strong="G4671" to have|strong="G2192" her|strong="G0846".
5 And|strong="G2532" when|strong="G2309" he|strong="G0846" would have|strong="G2309" put him to death|strong="G0615", he feared|strong="G5399" the multitude|strong="G3793", because|strong="G3754" they counted|strong="G2192" him|strong="G0846" as|strong="G5613" a prophet|strong="G4396".
6 But when|strong="G1161" Herod’s|strong="G2264" birthday|strong="G1077" was kept|strong="G0071", the daughter|strong="G2364" of Herodias|strong="G2266" danced|strong="G3738" before|strong="G1722" them|strong="G3319", and|strong="G2532" pleased|strong="G0700" Herod|strong="G2264".
7 Whereupon|strong="G3606" he promised|strong="G3670" with|strong="G3326" an oath|strong="G3727" to give|strong="G1325" her|strong="G0846" whatsoever|strong="G3739" she|strong="G1437" would ask|strong="G0154".
8 And|strong="G1161" she, being before instructed|strong="G4264" of|strong="G5259" her|strong="G0846" mother|strong="G3384", said|strong="G5346", Give|strong="G1325" me|strong="G3427" here|strong="G5602" John|strong="G2491" Baptist’s|strong="G0910" head|strong="G2776" in|strong="G1909" a charger|strong="G4094".
9 And|strong="G2532" the king|strong="G0935" was sorry|strong="G3076": nevertheless|strong="G1161" for|strong="G1223" the oath’s sake|strong="G3727", and|strong="G2532" them which sat with him at meat|strong="G4873", he commanded|strong="G2753" it to be given|strong="G1325" her.
10 And|strong="G2532" he sent|strong="G3992", and beheaded|strong="G0607" John|strong="G2491" in|strong="G1722" the prison|strong="G5438".
11 And|strong="G2532" his|strong="G0846" head|strong="G2776" was brought|strong="G5342" in|strong="G1909" a charger|strong="G4094", and|strong="G2532" given|strong="G1325" to the damsel|strong="G2877": and|strong="G2532" she brought|strong="G5342" it to|strong="G3384" her|strong="G0846" mother|strong="G3384".
12 And|strong="G2532" his|strong="G0846" disciples|strong="G3101" came|strong="G4334", and took up|strong="G0142" the body|strong="G4983", and|strong="G2532" buried|strong="G2290" it|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" went|strong="G2064" and told|strong="G0518" Jesus|strong="G2424".
13 When|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G2424" heard|strong="G0191" of it, he departed|strong="G0402" thence|strong="G1564" by|strong="G1722" ship|strong="G4143" into|strong="G1519" a desert|strong="G2048" place|strong="G5117" apart|strong="G2398": and when|strong="G2532" the people|strong="G3793" had heard|strong="G0191" thereof, they followed|strong="G0190" him|strong="G0846" on foot|strong="G3979" out of|strong="G0575" the cities|strong="G4172".
14 And|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G2424" went forth|strong="G1831", and saw|strong="G1492" a great|strong="G4183" multitude|strong="G3793", and|strong="G2532" was moved with compassion|strong="G4697" toward|strong="G1909" them|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" he healed|strong="G2323" their|strong="G0846" sick|strong="G0732".
15 And|strong="G1161" when it was|strong="G1096" evening|strong="G3798", his|strong="G0846" disciples|strong="G3101" came|strong="G4334" to him|strong="G0846", saying|strong="G3004", This is|strong="G2076" a desert|strong="G2048" place|strong="G5117", and|strong="G2532" the time|strong="G5610" is|strong="G3928" now|strong="G2235" past|strong="G3928"; send|strong="G0630" the multitude|strong="G3793" away|strong="G0630", that|strong="G2443" they may|strong="G0059" go|strong="G0565" into|strong="G1519" the villages|strong="G2968", and buy|strong="G0059" themselves|strong="G1438" victuals|strong="G1033".
16 But|strong="G1161" Jesus|strong="G2424" said|strong="G2036" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w They|strong="G2192"\+w* \+w need|strong="G5532"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w depart|strong="G0565"\+w*; \+w give|strong="G1325"\+w* \+w ye|strong="G5210"\+w* \+w them|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w to eat|strong="G5315"\+w*.
17 And|strong="G1161" they say|strong="G3004" unto him|strong="G0846", We have|strong="G2192" here|strong="G5602" but|strong="G1487" five|strong="G4002" loaves|strong="G0740", and|strong="G2532" two|strong="G1417" fishes|strong="G2486".
18 He said|strong="G2036", \+w Bring|strong="G5342"\+w* \+w them|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w hither|strong="G5602"\+w* \+w to me|strong="G3427"\+w*.
19 And|strong="G2532" he commanded|strong="G2753" the multitude|strong="G3793" to sit down|strong="G0347" on|strong="G1909" the grass|strong="G5528", and|strong="G2532" took|strong="G2983" the|strong="G0740" five|strong="G4002" loaves|strong="G0740", and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2486" two|strong="G1417" fishes|strong="G2486", and looking up|strong="G0308" to|strong="G1519" heaven|strong="G3772", he blessed|strong="G2127", and|strong="G2532" brake|strong="G2806", and gave|strong="G1325" the loaves|strong="G0740" to|strong="G3101" his disciples|strong="G3101", and|strong="G1161" the disciples|strong="G3101" to the multitude|strong="G3793".
20 And|strong="G2532" they did|strong="G5315" all|strong="G3956" eat|strong="G5315", and|strong="G2532" were filled|strong="G5526": and|strong="G2532" they took up|strong="G0142" of the fragments|strong="G2801" that remained|strong="G4052" twelve|strong="G1427" baskets|strong="G2894" full|strong="G4134".
21 And|strong="G1161" they that had eaten|strong="G2068" were|strong="G2258" about|strong="G5616" five thousand|strong="G4000" men|strong="G0435", beside|strong="G5565" women|strong="G1135" and|strong="G2532" children|strong="G3813".
22 And|strong="G2532" straightway|strong="G2112" Jesus|strong="G2424" constrained|strong="G0315" his|strong="G0846" disciples|strong="G3101" to get|strong="G1684" into|strong="G1519" a ship|strong="G4143", and|strong="G2532" to go before|strong="G4254" him|strong="G0846" unto|strong="G1519" the other side|strong="G4008", while|strong="G2193" he sent|strong="G0630" the multitudes|strong="G3793" away|strong="G0630".
23 And|strong="G2532" when he had sent|strong="G0630" the multitudes|strong="G3793" away|strong="G0630", he went up|strong="G0305" into|strong="G1519" a mountain|strong="G3735" apart|strong="G2398" to pray|strong="G4336": and when|strong="G1161" the evening|strong="G3798" was come|strong="G1096", he was|strong="G2258" there|strong="G1563" alone|strong="G3441".
24 But|strong="G1161" the ship|strong="G4143" was|strong="G2258" now|strong="G2235" in the midst|strong="G3319" of the sea|strong="G2281", tossed|strong="G0928" with|strong="G5259" waves|strong="G2949": for|strong="G1063" the wind|strong="G0417" was|strong="G2258" contrary|strong="G1727".
25 And|strong="G1161" in the fourth|strong="G5067" watch|strong="G5438" of the night|strong="G3571" Jesus|strong="G2424" went|strong="G0565" unto|strong="G4314" them|strong="G0846", walking|strong="G4043" on|strong="G1909" the sea|strong="G2281".
26 And when|strong="G2532" the disciples|strong="G3101" saw|strong="G1492" him|strong="G0846" walking|strong="G4043" on|strong="G1909" the sea|strong="G2281", they were troubled|strong="G5015", saying|strong="G3004", It is|strong="G2076" a spirit|strong="G5326"; and|strong="G2532" they cried out|strong="G2896" for|strong="G0575" fear|strong="G5401".
27 But|strong="G1161" straightway|strong="G2112" Jesus|strong="G2424" spake|strong="G2980" unto them|strong="G0846", saying|strong="G3004", \+w Be of good cheer|strong="G2293"\+w*; \+w it is|strong="G1510"\+w* \+w I|strong="G1473"\+w*; \+w be|strong="G5399"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w afraid|strong="G5399"\+w*.
28 And|strong="G1161" Peter|strong="G4074" answered|strong="G0611" him|strong="G0846" and said|strong="G2036", Lord|strong="G2962", if|strong="G1487" it be|strong="G1488" thou|strong="G4771", bid|strong="G2753" me|strong="G3165" come|strong="G2064" unto|strong="G4314" thee|strong="G4571" on|strong="G1909" the water|strong="G5204".
29 And|strong="G1161" he said|strong="G2036", \+w Come|strong="G2064"\+w*. And when|strong="G2532" Peter|strong="G4074" was come down|strong="G2597" out|strong="G0575" of the ship|strong="G4143", he walked|strong="G4043" on|strong="G1909" the water|strong="G5204", to go|strong="G2064" to|strong="G4314" Jesus|strong="G2424".
30 But|strong="G1161" when he saw|strong="G0991" the wind|strong="G0417" boisterous|strong="G2478", he was afraid|strong="G5399"; and|strong="G2532" beginning|strong="G0756" to sink|strong="G2670", he cried|strong="G2896", saying|strong="G3004", Lord|strong="G2962", save|strong="G4982" me|strong="G3165".
31 And|strong="G1161" immediately|strong="G2112" Jesus|strong="G2424" stretched forth|strong="G1614" his hand|strong="G5495", and caught|strong="G1949" him|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004" unto him|strong="G0846", \+w O thou of little faith|strong="G3640"\+w*, \+w wherefore|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w didst thou doubt|strong="G1365"\+w*?
32 And|strong="G2532" when they|strong="G0846" were come|strong="G1684" into|strong="G1519" the ship|strong="G4143", the wind|strong="G0417" ceased|strong="G2869".
33 Then|strong="G1161" they that were|strong="G3588" in|strong="G1722" the ship|strong="G4143" came|strong="G2064" and worshipped|strong="G4352" him|strong="G0846", saying|strong="G3004", Of a truth|strong="G0230" thou art|strong="G1488" the Son|strong="G5207" of God|strong="G2316".
34 And|strong="G2532" when they were gone over|strong="G1276", they came|strong="G2064" into|strong="G1519" the land|strong="G1093" of Gennesaret|strong="G1082".
35 And when|strong="G2532" the men|strong="G0435" of that|strong="G1565" place|strong="G5117" had knowledge of|strong="G1921" him|strong="G0846", they sent out|strong="G0649" into|strong="G1519" all|strong="G3650" that|strong="G1565" country round about|strong="G4066", and|strong="G2532" brought|strong="G4374" unto him|strong="G0846" all|strong="G3956" that were|strong="G2192" diseased|strong="G2560";
36 And|strong="G2532" besought|strong="G3870" him|strong="G0846" that|strong="G2443" they might|strong="G0680" only|strong="G3440" touch|strong="G0680" the hem|strong="G2899" of his|strong="G0846" garment|strong="G2440": and|strong="G2532" as many as|strong="G3745" touched|strong="G0680" were made perfectly whole|strong="G1295".
