1 And Joshua|strong="H3091" rose early|strong="H7925" in the morning|strong="H1242"; and they removed|strong="H5265" from Shittim|strong="H7851", and came|strong="H0935" to Jordan|strong="H3383", he and all the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478", and lodged|strong="H3885" there before they passed over|strong="H5674".
1 Levantou-se, pois, Josué de madrugada e, partindo de Sitim ele e todos os filhos de Israel, vieram ao Jordão; e pousaram ali, antes de atravessá-lo.
2 And it came to pass after|strong="H7097" three|strong="H7969" days|strong="H3117", that the officers|strong="H7860" went|strong="H5674" through|strong="H7130" the host|strong="H4264";
2 E sucedeu, ao fim de três dias, que os oficiais passaram pelo meio do arraial,
3 And they commanded|strong="H6680" the people|strong="H5971", saying|strong="H0559", When ye see|strong="H7200" the ark|strong="H0727" of the covenant|strong="H1285" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430", and the priests|strong="H3548" the Levites|strong="H3881" bearing|strong="H5375" it, then ye shall remove|strong="H5265" from your place|strong="H4725", and go|strong="H1980" after|strong="H0310" it.
3 e ordenaram ao povo, dizendo: Quando virdes a arca da pacto do Senhor vosso Deus sendo levada pelos levitas sacerdotes, partireis vós também do vosso lugar, e a seguireis
4 Yet there shall be a space|strong="H7350" between you and it, about two thousand|strong="H0505" cubits|strong="H0520" by measure|strong="H4060": come not near|strong="H7126" unto it, that ye may know|strong="H3045" the way|strong="H1870" by which ye must go|strong="H3212": for ye have not passed|strong="H5674" this way|strong="H1870" heretofore|strong="H8543".
4 {haja, contudo, entre vós e ela, uma distância de dois mil côvados, e não vos chegueis a ela}, para que saibais o caminho pelo qual haveis de ir, porquanto por este caminho nunca dantes passastes.
5 And Joshua|strong="H3091" said|strong="H0559" unto the people|strong="H5971", Sanctify|strong="H6942" yourselves: for to morrow|strong="H4279" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* will do|strong="H6213" wonders|strong="H6381" among|strong="H7130" you.
5 Disse Josué também ao povo: Santificai-vos, porque amanhã o Senhor fará maravilhas no meio de vós.
6 And Joshua|strong="H3091" spake|strong="H0559" unto the priests|strong="H3548", saying|strong="H0559", Take up|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" of the covenant|strong="H1285", and pass over|strong="H5674" before|strong="H6440" the people|strong="H5971". And they took up|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" of the covenant|strong="H1285", and went|strong="H3212" before|strong="H6440" the people|strong="H5971".
6 E falou Josué aos sacerdotes, dizendo: Levantai a arca do pacto, e passai adiante do povo. Levantaram, pois, a arca do pacto, e foram andando adiante do povo.
7 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto Joshua|strong="H3091", This day|strong="H3117" will I begin|strong="H2490" to magnify|strong="H1431" thee in the sight|strong="H5869" of all Israel|strong="H3478", that they may know|strong="H3045" that, as I was with Moses|strong="H4872", so I will be with thee.
7 Então disse o Senhor a Josué: Hoje começarei a engrandecer-te perante os olhos de todo o Israel, para que saibam que, assim como fui com Moisés, serei contigo.
8 And thou shalt command|strong="H6680" the priests|strong="H3548" that bear|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" of the covenant|strong="H1285", saying|strong="H0559", When ye are come|strong="H0935" to the brink|strong="H7097" of the water|strong="H4325" of Jordan|strong="H3383", ye shall stand still|strong="H5975" in Jordan|strong="H3383".
8 Tu, pois, ordenarás aos sacerdotes que levam a arca do pacto, dizendo: Quando chegardes à beira das águas de Jordão, aí parareis.
9 And Joshua|strong="H3091" said|strong="H0559" unto the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478", Come hither|strong="H5066", and hear|strong="H8085" the words|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430".
9 Disse então Josué aos filhos de Israel: Aproximai-vos, e ouvi as palavras do Senhor vosso Deus.
10 And Joshua|strong="H3091" said|strong="H0559", Hereby ye shall know|strong="H3045" that the living|strong="H2416" God|strong="H0410" is among|strong="H7130" you, and that he will without fail|strong="H3423" drive out|strong="H3423" from before|strong="H6440" you the Canaanites|strong="H3669", and the Hittites|strong="H2850", and the Hivites|strong="H2340", and the Perizzites|strong="H6522", and the Girgashites|strong="H1622", and the Amorites|strong="H0567", and the Jebusites|strong="H2983".
10 E acrescentou: Nisto conhecereis que o Deus vivo está no meio de vós, e que certamente expulsará de diante de vós os cananeus, os heteus, os heveus, os perizeus, os girgaseus, os amorreus e os jebuseus.
11 Behold, the ark|strong="H0727" of the covenant|strong="H1285" of the Lord|strong="H0113" of all the earth|strong="H0776" passeth over|strong="H5674" before|strong="H6440" you into Jordan|strong="H3383".
11 Eis que a arca do pacto do Senhor de toda a terra passará adiante de vós para o meio do Jordão.
12 Now therefore take|strong="H3947" you twelve|strong="H8147" men|strong="H0376" out of the tribes|strong="H7626" of Israel|strong="H3478", out of every|strong="H0259" tribe|strong="H7626" a man|strong="H0376".
12 Tomai, pois, agora doze homens das tribos de Israel, de cada tribo um homem;
13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles|strong="H3709" of the feet|strong="H7272" of the priests|strong="H3548" that bear|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, the Lord|strong="H0113" of all the earth|strong="H0776", shall rest|strong="H5117" in the waters|strong="H4325" of Jordan|strong="H3383", that the waters|strong="H4325" of Jordan|strong="H3383" shall be cut off|strong="H3772" from the waters|strong="H4325" that come down|strong="H3381" from above|strong="H4605"; and they shall stand|strong="H5975" upon an|strong="H0259" heap|strong="H5067".
13 porque assim que as plantas dos pés dos sacerdotes que levam a arca do Senhor, o Senhor de toda a terra, pousarem nas águas do Jordão, estas serão cortadas, isto é, as águas que vêm de cima, e, amontoadas, pararão.
14 And it came to pass, when the people|strong="H5971" removed|strong="H5265" from their tents|strong="H0168", to pass over|strong="H5674" Jordan|strong="H3383", and the priests|strong="H3548" bearing|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" of the covenant|strong="H1285" before|strong="H6440" the people|strong="H5971";
14 Quando, pois, o povo partiu das suas tendas para atravessar o Jordão, levando os sacerdotes a arca do pacto adiante do povo,
15 And as they that bare|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" were come|strong="H0935" unto Jordan|strong="H3383", and the feet|strong="H7272" of the priests|strong="H3548" that bare|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" were dipped|strong="H2881" in the brim|strong="H7097" of the water|strong="H4325", (for Jordan|strong="H3383" overfloweth|strong="H4390" all his banks|strong="H1415" all the time|strong="H3117" of harvest|strong="H7105",)
15 e quando os que levavam a arca chegaram ao Jordão, e os seus pés se mergulharam na beira das águas {porque o Jordão transbordava todas as suas ribanceiras durante todos os dias da sega},
16 That the waters|strong="H4325" which came down|strong="H3381" from above|strong="H4605" stood|strong="H5975" and rose up|strong="H6965" upon an|strong="H0259" heap|strong="H5067" very|strong="H3966" far|strong="H7368" from the city|strong="H5892" Adam|strong="H0121", that is beside|strong="H6654" Zaretan|strong="H6891": and those that came down|strong="H3381" toward the sea|strong="H3220" of the plain|strong="H6160", even the salt|strong="H4417" sea|strong="H3220", failed|strong="H8552", and were cut off|strong="H3772": and the people|strong="H5971" passed over|strong="H5674" right against Jericho|strong="H3405".
16 as águas que vinham de cima, parando, levantaram-se num montão, mui longe, à altura de Adã, cidade que está junto a Zaretã; e as que desciam ao mar da Arabá, que é o Mar Salgado, foram de todo cortadas. Então o povo passou bem em frente de Jericó.
17 And the priests|strong="H3548" that bare|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" of the covenant|strong="H1285" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* stood|strong="H5975" firm|strong="H3559" on dry ground|strong="H2724" in the midst|strong="H8432" of Jordan|strong="H3383", and all the Israelites|strong="H3478" passed over|strong="H5674" on dry ground|strong="H2724", until all the people|strong="H1471" were passed|strong="H5674" clean|strong="H8552" over|strong="H5674" Jordan|strong="H3383".
17 Os sacerdotes que levavam a arca do pacto do Senhor pararam firmes em seco no meio do Jordão, e todo o Israel foi passando a pé enxuto, até que todo o povo acabou de passar o Jordão.
