Josué 2

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

And Joshua|strong="H3091" the son|strong="H1121" of Nun|strong="H5126" sent|strong="H7971" out of Shittim|strong="H7851" two|strong="H8147" men|strong="H0582" to spy|strong="H7270" secretly|strong="H2791", saying|strong="H0559", Go|strong="H3212" view|strong="H7200" the land|strong="H0776", even Jericho|strong="H3405". And they went|strong="H3212", and came|strong="H0935" into an harlot’s|strong="H2181" house|strong="H0802", named|strong="H8034" Rahab|strong="H7343", and lodged|strong="H7901" there.

And it was told|strong="H0559" the king|strong="H4428" of Jericho|strong="H3405", saying|strong="H0559", Behold, there came|strong="H0935" men|strong="H0582" in hither to night|strong="H3915" of the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" to search out|strong="H2658" the country|strong="H0776".

And the king|strong="H4428" of Jericho|strong="H3405" sent|strong="H7971" unto Rahab|strong="H7343", saying|strong="H0559", Bring forth|strong="H3318" the men|strong="H0582" that are come|strong="H0935" to thee, which are entered|strong="H0935" into thine house|strong="H1004": for they be come|strong="H0935" to search out|strong="H2658" all the country|strong="H0776".

And the woman|strong="H0802" took|strong="H3947" the two|strong="H8147" men|strong="H0582", and hid|strong="H6845" them, and said|strong="H0559" thus, There came|strong="H0935" men|strong="H0582" unto me, but I wist|strong="H3045" not whence|strong="H0370" they were:

And it came to pass about the time of shutting|strong="H5462" of the gate|strong="H8179", when it was dark|strong="H2822", that the men|strong="H0582" went out|strong="H3318": whither the men|strong="H0582" went|strong="H1980" I wot|strong="H3045" not: pursue|strong="H7291" after|strong="H0310" them quickly|strong="H4118"; for ye shall overtake|strong="H5381" them.

But she had brought them up|strong="H5927" to the roof|strong="H1406" of the house, and hid|strong="H2934" them with the stalks|strong="H6086" of flax|strong="H6593", which she had laid in order|strong="H6186" upon the roof|strong="H1406".

And the men|strong="H0582" pursued|strong="H7291" after|strong="H0310" them the way|strong="H1870" to Jordan|strong="H3383" unto the fords|strong="H4569": and as soon as they which pursued|strong="H7291" after|strong="H0310" them were gone out|strong="H3318", they shut|strong="H5462" the gate|strong="H8179".

And before they were laid down|strong="H7901", she came up|strong="H5927" unto them upon the roof|strong="H1406";

And she said|strong="H0559" unto the men|strong="H0582", I know|strong="H3045" that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath given|strong="H5414" you the land|strong="H0776", and that your terror|strong="H0367" is fallen|strong="H5307" upon us, and that all the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of the land|strong="H0776" faint|strong="H4127" because|strong="H6440" of you.

For we have heard|strong="H8085" how the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* dried up|strong="H3001" the water|strong="H4325" of the Red|strong="H5488" sea|strong="H3220" for you|strong="H6440", when ye came out|strong="H3318" of Egypt|strong="H4714"; and what ye did|strong="H6213" unto the two|strong="H8147" kings|strong="H4428" of the Amorites|strong="H0567", that were on the other side|strong="H5676" Jordan|strong="H3383", Sihon|strong="H5511" and Og|strong="H5747", whom ye utterly destroyed|strong="H2763".

And as soon as we had heard|strong="H8085" these things, our hearts|strong="H3824" did melt|strong="H4549", neither did there remain|strong="H6965" any more courage|strong="H7307" in any man|strong="H0376", because|strong="H6440" of you: for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* your God|strong="H0430", he is God|strong="H0430" in heaven|strong="H8064" above|strong="H4605", and in earth|strong="H0776" beneath.

Now therefore, I pray you, swear|strong="H7650" unto me by the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, since|strong="H3588" I have shewed|strong="H6213" you kindness|strong="H2617", that ye will also shew|strong="H6213" kindness|strong="H2617" unto my father’s|strong="H0001" house|strong="H1004", and give|strong="H5414" me a true|strong="H0571" token|strong="H0226":

And that ye will save alive|strong="H2421" my father|strong="H0001", and my mother|strong="H0517", and my brethren|strong="H0251", and my sisters|strong="H0269", and all that they have, and deliver|strong="H5337" our lives|strong="H5315" from death|strong="H4194".

And the men|strong="H0582" answered|strong="H0559" her, Our life|strong="H5315" for yours|strong="H4191", if ye utter|strong="H5046" not this our business|strong="H1697". And it shall be, when the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath given|strong="H5414" us the land|strong="H0776", that we will deal|strong="H6213" kindly|strong="H2617" and truly|strong="H0571" with thee.

Then she let them down|strong="H3381" by a cord|strong="H2256" through|strong="H1157" the window|strong="H2474": for her house|strong="H1004" was upon the town|strong="H7023" wall|strong="H2346", and she dwelt|strong="H3427" upon the wall|strong="H2346".

And she said|strong="H0559" unto them, Get|strong="H3212" you to the mountain|strong="H2022", lest the pursuers|strong="H7291" meet|strong="H6293" you; and hide|strong="H2247" yourselves there three|strong="H7969" days|strong="H3117", until the pursuers|strong="H7291" be returned|strong="H7725": and afterward|strong="H0310" may ye go|strong="H3212" your way|strong="H1870".

And the men|strong="H0582" said|strong="H0559" unto her, We will be blameless|strong="H5355" of this thine oath|strong="H7621" which thou hast made us swear|strong="H7650".

Behold, when we come|strong="H0935" into the land|strong="H0776", thou shalt bind|strong="H7194" this line|strong="H8615" of scarlet|strong="H8144" thread|strong="H2339" in the window|strong="H2474" which thou didst let us down by|strong="H3381": and thou shalt bring|strong="H0622" thy father|strong="H0001", and thy mother|strong="H0517", and thy brethren|strong="H0251", and all thy father’s|strong="H0001" household|strong="H1004", home|strong="H1004" unto thee.

And it shall be, that whosoever|strong="H0834" shall go out|strong="H3318" of the doors|strong="H1817" of thy house|strong="H1004" into the street|strong="H2351", his blood|strong="H1818" shall be upon his head|strong="H7218", and we will be guiltless|strong="H5355": and whosoever shall be with thee in the house|strong="H1004", his blood|strong="H1818" shall be on our head|strong="H7218", if any hand|strong="H3027" be upon him.

And if thou utter|strong="H5046" this our business|strong="H1697", then we will be quit|strong="H5355" of thine oath|strong="H7621" which thou hast made us to swear|strong="H7650".

And she said|strong="H0559", According unto your words|strong="H1697", so be it. And she sent them away|strong="H7971", and they departed|strong="H3212": and she bound|strong="H7194" the scarlet|strong="H8144" line|strong="H8615" in the window|strong="H2474".

And they went|strong="H3212", and came|strong="H0935" unto the mountain|strong="H2022", and abode|strong="H3427" there three|strong="H7969" days|strong="H3117", until the pursuers|strong="H7291" were returned|strong="H7725": and the pursuers|strong="H7291" sought|strong="H1245" them throughout all the way|strong="H1870", but found|strong="H4672" them not.

So the two|strong="H8147" men|strong="H0582" returned|strong="H7725", and descended|strong="H3381" from the mountain|strong="H2022", and passed over|strong="H5674", and came|strong="H0935" to Joshua|strong="H3091" the son|strong="H1121" of Nun|strong="H5126", and told|strong="H5608" him all things that befell|strong="H4672" them:

And they said|strong="H0559" unto Joshua|strong="H3091", Truly|strong="H3588" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath delivered|strong="H5414" into our hands|strong="H3027" all the land|strong="H0776"; for even all the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of the country|strong="H0776" do faint|strong="H4127" because|strong="H6440" of us.
