1 The word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came also unto me, saying|strong="H0559",
2 Thou shalt not take|strong="H3947" thee a wife|strong="H0802", neither shalt thou have sons|strong="H1121" or daughters|strong="H1323" in this place|strong="H4725".
3 For thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* concerning the sons|strong="H1121" and concerning the daughters|strong="H1323" that are born|strong="H3205" in this place|strong="H4725", and concerning their mothers|strong="H0517" that bare|strong="H3205" them, and concerning their fathers|strong="H0001" that begat|strong="H3209" them in this land|strong="H0776";
4 They shall die|strong="H4191" of grievous|strong="H8463" deaths|strong="H4463"; they shall not be lamented|strong="H5594"; neither shall they be buried|strong="H6912"; but they shall be as dung|strong="H1828" upon the face|strong="H6440" of the earth|strong="H0127": and they shall be consumed|strong="H3615" by the sword|strong="H2719", and by famine|strong="H7458"; and their carcases|strong="H5038" shall be meat|strong="H3978" for the fowls|strong="H5775" of heaven|strong="H8064", and for the beasts|strong="H0929" of the earth|strong="H0776".
5 For thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, Enter|strong="H0935" not into the house|strong="H1004" of mourning|strong="H4798", neither go|strong="H3212" to lament|strong="H5594" nor bemoan|strong="H5110" them: for I have taken away|strong="H0622" my peace|strong="H7965" from this people|strong="H5971", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, even lovingkindness|strong="H2617" and mercies|strong="H7356".
6 Both the great|strong="H1419" and the small|strong="H6996" shall die|strong="H4191" in this land|strong="H0776": they shall not be buried|strong="H6912", neither shall men lament|strong="H5594" for them, nor cut|strong="H1413" themselves, nor make themselves bald|strong="H7139" for them:
7 Neither shall men tear|strong="H6536" themselves for them in mourning|strong="H0060", to comfort|strong="H5162" them for the dead|strong="H4191"; neither shall men give them the cup|strong="H3563" of consolation|strong="H8575" to drink|strong="H8248" for their father|strong="H0001" or for their mother|strong="H0517".
8 Thou shalt not also go|strong="H0935" into the house|strong="H1004" of feasting|strong="H4960", to sit|strong="H3427" with them to eat|strong="H0398" and to drink|strong="H8354".
9 For thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", the God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478"; Behold, I will cause to cease|strong="H7673" out of this place|strong="H4725" in your eyes|strong="H5869", and in your days|strong="H3117", the voice|strong="H6963" of mirth|strong="H8342", and the voice|strong="H6963" of gladness|strong="H8057", the voice|strong="H6963" of the bridegroom|strong="H2860", and the voice|strong="H6963" of the bride|strong="H3618".
10 And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt shew|strong="H5046" this people|strong="H5971" all these words|strong="H1697", and they shall say|strong="H0559" unto thee, Wherefore hath the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* pronounced|strong="H1696" all this great|strong="H1419" evil|strong="H7451" against us? or what is our iniquity|strong="H5771"? or what is our sin|strong="H2403" that we have committed|strong="H2398" against the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* our God|strong="H0430"?
11 Then shalt thou say|strong="H0559" unto them, Because your fathers|strong="H0001" have forsaken|strong="H5800" me, saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and have walked|strong="H3212" after|strong="H0310" other|strong="H0312" gods|strong="H0430", and have served|strong="H5647" them, and have worshipped|strong="H7812" them, and have forsaken|strong="H5800" me, and have not kept|strong="H8104" my law|strong="H8451";
12 And ye have done|strong="H6213" worse|strong="H7489" than your fathers|strong="H0001"; for, behold|strong="H2009", ye walk|strong="H1980" every one|strong="H0376" after|strong="H0310" the imagination|strong="H8307" of his evil|strong="H7451" heart|strong="H3820", that they may not hearken|strong="H8085" unto me:
13 Therefore will I cast|strong="H2904" you out of this land|strong="H0776" into a land|strong="H0776" that ye know|strong="H3045" not, neither ye nor your fathers|strong="H0001"; and there shall ye serve|strong="H5647" other|strong="H0312" gods|strong="H0430" day|strong="H3119" and night|strong="H3915"; where I will not shew|strong="H5414" you favour|strong="H2594".
14 Therefore, behold, the days|strong="H3117" come|strong="H0935", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, that it shall no more be said|strong="H0559", The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* liveth|strong="H2416", that brought up|strong="H5927" the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" out of the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714";
15 But, The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* liveth|strong="H2416", that brought up|strong="H5927" the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" from the land|strong="H0776" of the north|strong="H6828", and from all the lands|strong="H0776" whither he had driven|strong="H5080" them: and I will bring them again|strong="H7725" into their land|strong="H0127" that I gave|strong="H5414" unto their fathers|strong="H0001".
16 Behold, I will send|strong="H7971" for many|strong="H7227" fishers|strong="H1771", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and they shall fish|strong="H1770" them; and after|strong="H0310" will I send|strong="H7971" for many|strong="H7227" hunters|strong="H6719", and they shall hunt|strong="H6679" them from every mountain|strong="H2022", and from every hill|strong="H1389", and out of the holes|strong="H5357" of the rocks|strong="H5553".
17 For mine eyes|strong="H5869" are upon all their ways|strong="H1870": they are not hid|strong="H5641" from my face|strong="H6440", neither is their iniquity|strong="H5771" hid|strong="H6845" from|strong="H5048" mine eyes|strong="H5869".
18 And first|strong="H7223" I will recompense|strong="H7999" their iniquity|strong="H5771" and their sin|strong="H2403" double|strong="H4932"; because they have defiled|strong="H2490" my land|strong="H0776", they have filled|strong="H4390" mine inheritance|strong="H5159" with the carcases|strong="H5038" of their detestable|strong="H8251" and abominable things|strong="H8441".
19 O \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, my strength|strong="H5797", and my fortress|strong="H4581", and my refuge|strong="H4498" in the day|strong="H3117" of affliction|strong="H6869", the Gentiles|strong="H1471" shall come|strong="H0935" unto thee from the ends|strong="H0657" of the earth|strong="H0776", and shall say|strong="H0559", Surely our fathers|strong="H0001" have inherited|strong="H5157" lies|strong="H8267", vanity|strong="H1892", and things wherein there is no profit|strong="H3276".
20 Shall a man|strong="H0120" make|strong="H6213" gods|strong="H0430" unto himself, and they are no gods|strong="H0430"?
21 Therefore, behold, I will this once|strong="H6471" cause them to know|strong="H3045", I will cause them to know|strong="H3045" mine hand|strong="H3027" and my might|strong="H1369"; and they shall know|strong="H3045" that my name|strong="H8034" is The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
