2 To whom the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came in the days|strong="H3117" of Josiah|strong="H2977" the son|strong="H1121" of Amon|strong="H0526" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", in the thirteenth|strong="H7969" year|strong="H8141" of his reign|strong="H4427".
3 It came also in the days|strong="H3117" of Jehoiakim|strong="H3079" the son|strong="H1121" of Josiah|strong="H2977" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", unto the end|strong="H8552" of the eleventh|strong="H6249" year|strong="H8141" of Zedekiah|strong="H6667" the son|strong="H1121" of Josiah|strong="H2977" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", unto the carrying away|strong="H1540" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389" captive|strong="H1540" in the fifth|strong="H2549" month|strong="H2320".
4 Then the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came unto me, saying|strong="H0559",
5 Before|strong="H2962" I formed|strong="H3335" thee in the belly|strong="H0990" I knew|strong="H3045" thee; and before thou camest forth|strong="H3318" out of the womb|strong="H7358" I sanctified|strong="H6942" thee, and I ordained|strong="H5414" thee a prophet|strong="H5030" unto the nations|strong="H1471".
6 Then said|strong="H0559" I, Ah|strong="H0162", Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*! behold, I cannot|strong="H3045" speak|strong="H1696": for I am a child|strong="H5288".
7 But the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto me, Say|strong="H0559" not, I am a child|strong="H5288": for thou shalt go|strong="H3212" to all that I shall send|strong="H7971" thee, and whatsoever I command|strong="H6680" thee thou shalt speak|strong="H1696".
8 Be not afraid|strong="H3372" of their faces|strong="H6440": for I am with thee to deliver|strong="H5337" thee, saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
9 Then the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* put forth|strong="H7971" his hand|strong="H3027", and touched|strong="H5060" my mouth|strong="H6310". And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto me, Behold, I have put|strong="H5414" my words|strong="H1697" in thy mouth|strong="H6310".
10 See|strong="H7200", I have this day|strong="H3117" set|strong="H6485" thee over the nations|strong="H1471" and over the kingdoms|strong="H4467", to root out|strong="H5428", and to pull down|strong="H5422", and to destroy|strong="H0006", and to throw down|strong="H2040", to build|strong="H1129", and to plant|strong="H5193".
11 Moreover the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came unto me, saying|strong="H0559", Jeremiah|strong="H3414", what seest|strong="H7200" thou? And I said|strong="H0559", I see|strong="H7200" a rod|strong="H4731" of an almond tree|strong="H8247".
12 Then said|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* unto me, Thou hast well|strong="H3190" seen|strong="H7200": for I will hasten|strong="H8245" my word|strong="H1697" to perform|strong="H6213" it.
13 And the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came unto me the second time|strong="H8145", saying|strong="H0559", What seest|strong="H7200" thou? And I said|strong="H0559", I see|strong="H7200" a seething|strong="H5301" pot|strong="H5518"; and the face|strong="H6440" thereof is toward|strong="H6440" the north|strong="H6828".
14 Then the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto me, Out of the north|strong="H6828" an evil|strong="H7451" shall break forth|strong="H6605" upon all the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of the land|strong="H0776".
15 For, lo, I will call|strong="H7121" all the families|strong="H4940" of the kingdoms|strong="H4467" of the north|strong="H6828", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; and they shall come|strong="H0935", and they shall set|strong="H5414" every one|strong="H0376" his throne|strong="H3678" at the entering|strong="H6607" of the gates|strong="H8179" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and against all the walls|strong="H2346" thereof round about|strong="H5439", and against all the cities|strong="H5892" of Judah|strong="H3063".
16 And I will utter|strong="H1696" my judgments|strong="H4941" against them touching|strong="H5921" all their wickedness|strong="H7451", who have forsaken|strong="H5800" me, and have burned incense|strong="H6999" unto other|strong="H0312" gods|strong="H0430", and worshipped|strong="H7812" the works|strong="H4639" of their own hands|strong="H3027".
17 Thou therefore gird up|strong="H0247" thy loins|strong="H4975", and arise|strong="H6965", and speak|strong="H1696" unto them all that I command|strong="H6680" thee: be not dismayed|strong="H2865" at their faces|strong="H6440", lest I confound|strong="H2865" thee before|strong="H6440" them.
18 For, behold, I|strong="H0589" have made|strong="H5414" thee this day|strong="H3117" a defenced|strong="H4013" city|strong="H5892", and an iron|strong="H1270" pillar|strong="H5982", and brasen|strong="H5178" walls|strong="H2346" against the whole land|strong="H0776", against the kings|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", against the princes|strong="H8269" thereof, against the priests|strong="H3548" thereof, and against the people|strong="H5971" of the land|strong="H0776".
19 And they shall fight|strong="H3898" against thee; but they shall not prevail|strong="H3201" against thee; for I am with thee, saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, to deliver|strong="H5337" thee.
