1 Passadas essas coisas, Jesus andava pela Galileia, porque não desejava andar pela Judeia, visto que os judeus queriam matá-lo.
2 Now|strong="G1161" the Jews’|strong="G2453" feast|strong="G1859" of tabernacles|strong="G4634" was|strong="G2258" at hand|strong="G1451".
2 E a festa dos judeus, chamada de Festa dos Tabernáculos, estava próxima.

3 Então os irmãos de Jesus se dirigiram a ele e disseram: — Deixe este lugar e vá para a Judeia, para que também os seus discípulos vejam as obras que você faz.

4 Porque, se alguém quer ser conhecido, não pode realizar os seus feitos em segredo. Já que você faz essas coisas, manifeste-se ao mundo.

5 Acontece que nem mesmo os irmãos de Jesus criam nele.

6 Então Jesus lhes disse:

8 Vão vocês para a festa. Eu não vou, porque o meu tempo ainda não se cumpriu.

9 Tendo dito isso, Jesus continuou na Galileia.

11 Ora, os judeus o procuravam na festa e perguntavam: — Onde estará ele?
12 And|strong="G2532" there was|strong="G2258" much|strong="G4183" murmuring|strong="G1112" among|strong="G1722" the people|strong="G3793" concerning|strong="G4012" him|strong="G0846": for some|strong="G3588" said|strong="G3004", He is|strong="G2076" a good man|strong="G0018": others|strong="G0243" said|strong="G3004", Nay|strong="G3756"; but|strong="G0235" he deceiveth|strong="G4105" the people|strong="G3793".
12 E havia grande murmuração a respeito de Jesus entre as multidões. Uns diziam: — Ele é bom. E outros afirmavam: — Não, não é! Ele engana o povo.
13 Howbeit|strong="G3305" no man|strong="G3762" spake|strong="G2980" openly|strong="G3954" of|strong="G4012" him|strong="G0846" for|strong="G1223" fear|strong="G5401" of the Jews|strong="G2453".
13 Entretanto, ninguém falava dele abertamente, por ter medo dos judeus.
14 Now|strong="G2235" about the midst|strong="G3322" of the feast|strong="G1859" Jesus|strong="G2424" went up|strong="G0305" into|strong="G1519" the temple|strong="G2411", and|strong="G2532" taught|strong="G1321".
14 Quando a festa já estava na metade, Jesus foi ao templo e começou a ensinar.

15 Então os judeus se maravilhavam e diziam: — Como é que ele pode ser letrado, se não chegou a estudar?
16 Jesus|strong="G2424" answered|strong="G0611" them|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G2036", \+w My|strong="G1699"\+w* \+w doctrine|strong="G1322"\+w* \+w is|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w mine|strong="G1699"\+w*, \+w but|strong="G0235"\+w* \+w his that sent|strong="G3992"\+w* \+w me|strong="G3165"\+w*.
16 Jesus lhes respondeu:

17 Se alguém quiser fazer a vontade de Deus, conhecerá a respeito da doutrina, se ela é de Deus ou se eu falo por mim mesmo.

18 Quem fala por si mesmo está buscando a sua própria glória; mas o que busca a glória de quem o enviou, esse é verdadeiro, e nele não há falsidade.

19 Não é fato que Moisés deu a Lei para vocês? Contudo, nenhum de vocês a cumpre. Por que estão querendo me matar?

20 A multidão respondeu: — Você tem demônio. Quem é que está querendo matá-lo?
21 Jesus|strong="G2424" answered|strong="G0611" and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G2036" unto them|strong="G0846", \+w I have done|strong="G4160"\+w* \+w one|strong="G1520"\+w* \+w work|strong="G2041"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w ye|strong="G2296"\+w* \+w all|strong="G3956"\+w* \+w marvel|strong="G2296"\+w*.
21 Jesus respondeu:
22 \+w Moses|strong="G3475"\+w* \+w therefore|strong="G1223"\+w* \+w gave|strong="G1325"\+w* \+w unto you|strong="G5213"\+w* \+w circumcision|strong="G4061"\+w*; (\+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w because|strong="G3754"\+w* \+w it is|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w of|strong="G1537"\+w* \+w Moses|strong="G3475"\+w*, \+w but|strong="G0235"\+w* \+w of|strong="G1537"\+w* \+w the fathers|strong="G3962"\+w*;) \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w ye|strong="G4059"\+w* \+w on|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w the sabbath day|strong="G4521"\+w* \+w circumcise|strong="G4059"\+w* \+w a man|strong="G0444"\+w*.
22 Moisés lhes deu a circuncisão — se bem que ela não vem de Moisés, mas dos patriarcas —, e vocês fazem a circuncisão de um menino até mesmo no sábado.

23 E, se um menino pode ser circuncidado em dia de sábado, para que a Lei de Moisés não seja desrespeitada, por que vocês ficam indignados contra mim, pelo fato de eu ter curado por completo um homem num sábado?

24 Não julguem segundo a aparência, mas julguem pela reta justiça.
25 Then|strong="G3767" said|strong="G3004" some|strong="G5100" of|strong="G1537" them of Jerusalem|strong="G2415", Is|strong="G2076" not|strong="G3756" this|strong="G3778" he|strong="G2076", whom|strong="G3739" they seek|strong="G2212" to kill|strong="G0615"?
25 Alguns de Jerusalém diziam: — Não é este o homem que estão querendo matar?
26 But|strong="G2532", lo|strong="G1492", he speaketh|strong="G2980" boldly|strong="G3954", and|strong="G2532" they say|strong="G3004" nothing|strong="G3762" unto him|strong="G0846". Do|strong="G3379" the rulers|strong="G0758" know|strong="G1097" indeed|strong="G0230" that|strong="G3754" this|strong="G3778" is|strong="G2076" the very|strong="G0230" Christ|strong="G5547"?
26 Eis que ele fala abertamente, e ninguém lhe diz nada. Será que as autoridades reconhecem de fato que este é o Cristo?
27 Howbeit|strong="G0235" we know|strong="G1492" this man|strong="G5126" whence|strong="G4159" he is|strong="G2076": but|strong="G1161" when|strong="G3752" Christ|strong="G5547" cometh|strong="G2064", no man|strong="G3762" knoweth|strong="G1097" whence|strong="G4159" he is|strong="G2076".
27 Mas nós sabemos de onde este homem vem. Quando, porém, o Cristo vier, ninguém saberá de onde ele é.

28 Enquanto ensinava no templo, Jesus disse em voz alta:

29 Eu o conheço, porque venho da parte dele e ele me enviou.
30 Then|strong="G3767" they sought|strong="G2212" to take|strong="G4084" him|strong="G0846": but|strong="G2532" no man|strong="G3762" laid|strong="G1911" hands|strong="G5495" on|strong="G1909" him|strong="G0846", because|strong="G3754" his|strong="G0846" hour|strong="G5610" was|strong="G2064" not yet|strong="G3768" come|strong="G2064".
30 Então quiseram prendê-lo, mas ninguém lhe pôs as mãos, porque a sua hora ainda não havia chegado.
31 And|strong="G1161" many|strong="G4183" of|strong="G1537" the people|strong="G3793" believed|strong="G4100" on|strong="G1519" him|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004", When|strong="G3752" Christ|strong="G5547" cometh|strong="G2064", will he do|strong="G4160" more|strong="G4119" miracles|strong="G4592" than these|strong="G5130" which|strong="G3739" this|strong="G3778" man hath done|strong="G4160"?
31 Porém muitos dentre a multidão creram nele e diziam: — Quando o Cristo vier, será que vai fazer maiores sinais do que este homem tem feito?
32 The Pharisees|strong="G5330" heard|strong="G0191" that|strong="G1111" the people|strong="G3793" murmured|strong="G1111" such things|strong="G5023" concerning|strong="G4012" him|strong="G0846"; and|strong="G2532" the Pharisees|strong="G5330" and|strong="G2532" the chief priests|strong="G0749" sent|strong="G0649" officers|strong="G5257" to|strong="G2443" take|strong="G4084" him|strong="G0846".
32 Os fariseus, ouvindo a multidão murmurar essas coisas a respeito de Jesus, juntamente com os principais sacerdotes enviaram guardas para o prender.

33 Jesus disse:
34 \+w Ye shall seek|strong="G2212"\+w* \+w me|strong="G3165"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w shall|strong="G2147"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w find|strong="G2147"\+w* \+add me\+add*: \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w where|strong="G3699"\+w* \+w I|strong="G1473"\+w* \+w am|strong="G1510"\+w*, \+add thither\+add* \+w ye|strong="G5210"\+w* \+w cannot|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w come|strong="G2064"\+w*.
34 Vocês irão me procurar, mas não me acharão; vocês também não podem ir para onde eu estou.
35 Then|strong="G3767" said|strong="G2036" the Jews|strong="G2453" among|strong="G4314" themselves|strong="G1438", Whither|strong="G4226" will|strong="G3195" he|strong="G3778" go|strong="G4198", that|strong="G3754" we|strong="G2249" shall|strong="G2147" not|strong="G3756" find|strong="G2147" him|strong="G0846"? will he|strong="G3195" go|strong="G4198" unto|strong="G1519" the dispersed|strong="G1290" among the Gentiles|strong="G1672", and|strong="G2532" teach|strong="G1321" the Gentiles|strong="G1672"?
35 Então os judeus disseram uns aos outros: — Para onde ele irá que não o possamos achar? Será que pretende ir para a diáspora entre os gregos, a fim de ensinar os gregos?
36 What|strong="G5101" manner of saying|strong="G3056" is|strong="G2076" this|strong="G3778" that|strong="G3739" he said|strong="G2036", Ye shall seek|strong="G2212" me|strong="G3165", and|strong="G2532" shall|strong="G2147" not|strong="G3756" find|strong="G2147" me: and|strong="G2532" where|strong="G3699" I|strong="G1473" am|strong="G1510", thither ye|strong="G5210" cannot|strong="G3756" come|strong="G2064"?
36 Que significa isso que ele diz: “Vocês irão me procurar, mas não me acharão; vocês também não podem ir para onde eu estou?”

37 No último dia, o grande dia da festa, Jesus se levantou e disse em voz alta:

38 Quem crer em mim, como diz a Escritura, do seu interior fluirão rios de água viva.

39 Isso ele disse a respeito do Espírito que os que nele cressem haviam de receber; pois o Espírito até aquele momento não tinha sido dado, porque Jesus ainda não havia sido glorificado.

40 Quando ouviram essas palavras, alguns do meio do povo diziam: — Este é verdadeiramente o profeta.

41 Outros diziam: — Ele é o Cristo. Outros, porém, perguntavam: — Por acaso o Cristo virá da Galileia?
