Comfort|strong="H5162" ye, comfort|strong="H5162" ye my people|strong="H5971", saith|strong="H0559" your God|strong="H0430".
Speak|strong="H1696" ye comfortably|strong="H3820" to Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and cry|strong="H7121" unto her, that her warfare|strong="H6635" is accomplished|strong="H4390", that her iniquity|strong="H5771" is pardoned|strong="H7521": for she hath received|strong="H3947" of the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* hand|strong="H3027" double|strong="H3718" for all her sins|strong="H2403".
The voice|strong="H6963" of him that crieth|strong="H7121" in the wilderness|strong="H4057", Prepare|strong="H6437" ye the way|strong="H1870" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, make straight|strong="H3474" in the desert|strong="H6160" a highway|strong="H4546" for our God|strong="H0430".
Every valley|strong="H1516" shall be exalted|strong="H5375", and every mountain|strong="H2022" and hill|strong="H1389" shall be made low|strong="H8213": and the crooked|strong="H6121" shall be made straight|strong="H4334", and the rough places|strong="H7406" plain|strong="H1237":
And the glory|strong="H3519" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall be revealed|strong="H1540", and all flesh|strong="H1320" shall see|strong="H7200" it together|strong="H3162": for the mouth|strong="H6310" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath spoken|strong="H1696" it.
The voice|strong="H6963" said|strong="H0559", Cry|strong="H7121". And he said|strong="H0559", What shall I cry|strong="H7121"? All flesh|strong="H1320" is grass|strong="H2682", and all the goodliness|strong="H2617" thereof is as the flower|strong="H6731" of the field|strong="H7704":
The grass|strong="H2682" withereth|strong="H3001", the flower|strong="H6731" fadeth|strong="H5034": because the spirit|strong="H7307" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* bloweth|strong="H5380" upon it: surely|strong="H0403" the people|strong="H5971" is grass|strong="H2682".
The grass|strong="H2682" withereth|strong="H3001", the flower|strong="H6731" fadeth|strong="H5034": but the word|strong="H1697" of our God|strong="H0430" shall stand|strong="H6965" for ever|strong="H5769".
O Zion|strong="H6726", that bringest good tidings|strong="H1319", get thee up|strong="H5927" into the high|strong="H1364" mountain|strong="H2022"; O Jerusalem|strong="H3389", that bringest good tidings|strong="H1319", lift up|strong="H7311" thy voice|strong="H6963" with strength|strong="H3581"; lift it up|strong="H7311", be not afraid|strong="H3372"; say|strong="H0559" unto the cities|strong="H5892" of Judah|strong="H3063", Behold your God|strong="H0430"!
Behold, the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w* will come|strong="H0935" with strong|strong="H2389" hand, and his arm|strong="H2220" shall rule|strong="H4910" for him: behold, his reward|strong="H7939" is with him, and his work|strong="H6468" before|strong="H6440" him.
He shall feed|strong="H7462" his flock|strong="H5739" like a shepherd|strong="H7462": he shall gather|strong="H6908" the lambs|strong="H2922" with his arm|strong="H2220", and carry|strong="H5375" them in his bosom|strong="H2436", and shall gently lead|strong="H5095" those that are with young|strong="H5763".
Who hath measured|strong="H4058" the waters|strong="H4325" in the hollow of his hand|strong="H8168", and meted out|strong="H8505" heaven|strong="H8064" with the span|strong="H2239", and comprehended|strong="H3557" the dust|strong="H6083" of the earth|strong="H0776" in a measure|strong="H7991", and weighed|strong="H8254" the mountains|strong="H2022" in scales|strong="H6425", and the hills|strong="H1389" in a balance|strong="H3976"?
Who hath directed|strong="H8505" the Spirit|strong="H7307" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, or being his counsellor|strong="H0376" hath taught|strong="H3045" him?
With whom took he counsel|strong="H3289", and who instructed|strong="H0995" him, and taught|strong="H3925" him in the path|strong="H0734" of judgment|strong="H4941", and taught|strong="H3925" him knowledge|strong="H1847", and shewed|strong="H3045" to him the way|strong="H1870" of understanding|strong="H8394"?
Behold, the nations|strong="H1471" are as a drop|strong="H4752" of a bucket|strong="H1805", and are counted|strong="H2803" as the small dust|strong="H7834" of the balance|strong="H3976": behold, he taketh up|strong="H5190" the isles|strong="H0339" as a very little thing|strong="H1851".
And Lebanon|strong="H3844" is not|strong="H0369" sufficient|strong="H1767" to burn|strong="H1197", nor the beasts|strong="H2416" thereof sufficient|strong="H1767" for a burnt offering|strong="H5930".
All nations|strong="H1471" before him are as nothing; and they are counted|strong="H2803" to him less than nothing|strong="H0657", and vanity|strong="H8414".
To whom then will ye liken|strong="H1819" God|strong="H0410"? or what likeness|strong="H1823" will ye compare|strong="H6186" unto him?
The workman|strong="H2796" melteth|strong="H5258" a graven image|strong="H6459", and the goldsmith|strong="H6884" spreadeth|strong="H7554" it over with gold|strong="H2091", and casteth|strong="H6884" silver|strong="H3701" chains|strong="H7577".
He that is so impoverished|strong="H5533" that he hath no oblation|strong="H8641" chooseth|strong="H0977" a tree|strong="H6086" that will not rot|strong="H7537"; he seeketh|strong="H1245" unto him a cunning|strong="H2450" workman|strong="H2796" to prepare|strong="H3559" a graven image|strong="H6459", that shall not be moved|strong="H4131".
Have ye not known|strong="H3045"? have ye not heard|strong="H8085"? hath it not been told|strong="H5046" you from the beginning|strong="H7218"? have ye not understood|strong="H0995" from the foundations|strong="H4146" of the earth|strong="H0776"?
It is he that sitteth|strong="H3427" upon the circle|strong="H2329" of the earth|strong="H0776", and the inhabitants|strong="H3427" thereof are as grasshoppers|strong="H2284"; that stretcheth out|strong="H5186" the heavens|strong="H8064" as a curtain|strong="H1852", and spreadeth them out|strong="H4969" as a tent|strong="H0168" to dwell in|strong="H3427":
That bringeth|strong="H5414" the princes|strong="H7336" to nothing; he maketh|strong="H6213" the judges|strong="H8199" of the earth|strong="H0776" as vanity|strong="H8414".
Yea, they shall not be planted|strong="H5193"; yea, they shall not be sown|strong="H2232": yea, their stock|strong="H1503" shall not take root|strong="H8327" in the earth|strong="H0776": and he shall also blow|strong="H5398" upon them, and they shall wither|strong="H3001", and the whirlwind|strong="H5591" shall take|strong="H5375" them away as stubble|strong="H7179".
To whom then will ye liken|strong="H1819" me, or shall I be equal|strong="H7737"? saith|strong="H0559" the Holy One|strong="H6918".
Lift up|strong="H5375" your eyes|strong="H5869" on high|strong="H4791", and behold|strong="H7200" who hath created|strong="H1254" these things, that bringeth out|strong="H3318" their host|strong="H6635" by number|strong="H4557": he calleth|strong="H7121" them all by names|strong="H8034" by the greatness|strong="H7230" of his might|strong="H0202", for that he is strong|strong="H0533" in power|strong="H3581"; not one|strong="H0376" faileth|strong="H5737".
Why sayest|strong="H0559" thou, O Jacob|strong="H3290", and speakest|strong="H1696", O Israel|strong="H3478", My way|strong="H1870" is hid|strong="H5641" from the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and my judgment|strong="H4941" is passed over|strong="H5674" from my God|strong="H0430"?
Hast thou not known|strong="H3045"? hast thou not heard|strong="H8085", that the everlasting|strong="H5769" God|strong="H0430", the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, the Creator|strong="H1254" of the ends|strong="H7098" of the earth|strong="H0776", fainteth|strong="H3286" not, neither is weary|strong="H3021"? there is no searching|strong="H2714" of his understanding|strong="H8394".
He giveth|strong="H5414" power|strong="H3581" to the faint|strong="H3287"; and to them that have no might|strong="H0202" he increaseth|strong="H7235" strength|strong="H6109".
Even the youths|strong="H5288" shall faint|strong="H3286" and be weary|strong="H3021", and the young men|strong="H0970" shall utterly|strong="H3782" fall|strong="H3782":
But they that wait|strong="H6960" upon the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall renew|strong="H2498" their strength|strong="H3581"; they shall mount up|strong="H5927" with wings|strong="H0083" as eagles|strong="H5404"; they shall run|strong="H7323", and not be weary|strong="H3021"; and they shall walk|strong="H3212", and not faint|strong="H3286".
