1 No ano em que veio a Azot o general enviado por Sargão, rei da Assíria, este assediou Azot e apoderou-se dela.
2 At the same time|strong="H6256" spake|strong="H1696" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* by|strong="H3027" Isaiah|strong="H3470" the son|strong="H1121" of Amoz|strong="H0531", saying|strong="H0559", Go|strong="H3212" and loose|strong="H6605" the sackcloth|strong="H8242" from off thy loins|strong="H4975", and put off|strong="H2502" thy shoe|strong="H5275" from thy foot|strong="H7272". And he did so|strong="H6213", walking|strong="H1980" naked|strong="H6174" and barefoot|strong="H3182".
2 {Naquele tempo o Senhor tinha falado pelo ministério de Isaías, nestes termos: Vai, desata o saco que trazes às costas e tira as sandálias dos teus pés. Isaías dispôs-se a executá-lo, ia nu e descalço.}
3 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559", Like as my servant|strong="H5650" Isaiah|strong="H3470" hath walked|strong="H1980" naked|strong="H6174" and barefoot|strong="H3182" three|strong="H7969" years|strong="H8141" for a sign|strong="H0226" and wonder|strong="H4159" upon Egypt|strong="H4714" and upon Ethiopia|strong="H3568";
3 O Senhor disse: Do mesmo modo que meu servo Isaías vagueia nu e descalço há três anos, para dar uma imagem do que aguarda o Egito e a Etiópia,
4 So shall the king|strong="H4428" of Assyria|strong="H0804" lead away|strong="H5090" the Egyptians|strong="H4714" prisoners|strong="H7628", and the Ethiopians|strong="H3568" captives|strong="H1546", young|strong="H5288" and old|strong="H2205", naked|strong="H6174" and barefoot|strong="H3182", even with their buttocks|strong="H8357" uncovered|strong="H2834", to the shame|strong="H6172" of Egypt|strong="H4714".
4 assim serão levados pelo rei da Assíria os prisioneiros egípcios e os deportados da Etiópia, moços e velhos, nus e descalços, com o dorso descoberto {a nudez do Egito}.
5 And they shall be afraid|strong="H2865" and ashamed|strong="H0954" of Ethiopia|strong="H3568" their expectation|strong="H4007", and of Egypt|strong="H4714" their glory|strong="H8597".
5 Então aqueles que esperavam na Etiópia e punham no Egito a sua confiança serão amedrontados e confundidos.
6 And the inhabitant|strong="H3427" of this isle|strong="H0339" shall say|strong="H0559" in that day|strong="H3117", Behold, such|strong="H3541" is our expectation|strong="H4007", whither we flee|strong="H5127" for help|strong="H5833" to be delivered|strong="H5337" from|strong="H6440" the king|strong="H4428" of Assyria|strong="H0804": and how shall we escape|strong="H4422"?
6 Os habitantes desta costa dirão naquele dia: Eis aqueles em quem esperávamos, entre os quais queríamos encontrar proteção, procurar auxílio e socorro contra o rei da Assíria! Como nos livraremos deles?
