1 Por isso é preciso que prestemos maior atenção ao que temos ouvido, para que jamais nos desviemos.

2 Porque se a mensagem transmitida por anjos provou a sua firmeza, e toda transgressão e desobediência recebeu a devida punição,
3 How|strong="G4459" shall|strong="G1628" we|strong="G2249" escape|strong="G1628", if we neglect|strong="G0272" so great|strong="G5082" salvation|strong="G4991"; which|strong="G3748" at|strong="G2983" the first|strong="G0746" began|strong="G2983" to be spoken|strong="G2980" by|strong="G1223" the Lord|strong="G2962", and was confirmed|strong="G0950" unto|strong="G1519" us|strong="G2248" by|strong="G5259" them that heard|strong="G0191" him;
3 como escaparemos nós, se negligenciarmos tão grande salvação? Esta salvação, primeiramente anunciada pelo Senhor, foi-nos confirmada pelos que a ouviram.
4 God also|strong="G2316" bearing|strong="G4901" them witness|strong="G4901", both|strong="G5037" with signs|strong="G4592" and|strong="G2532" wonders|strong="G5059", and|strong="G2532" with divers|strong="G4164" miracles|strong="G1411", and|strong="G2532" gifts|strong="G3311" of the|strong="G4151" Holy|strong="G0040" Ghost|strong="G4151", according to|strong="G2596" his own|strong="G0846" will|strong="G2308"?
4 Deus também deu testemunho dela por meio de sinais, maravilhas, diversos milagres e dons do Espírito Santo distribuídos de acordo com a sua vontade.

5 Não foi a anjos que ele sujeitou o mundo que há de vir, a respeito do qual estamos falando,

6 mas alguém em certo lugar testemunhou, dizendo: "Que é o homem, para que com ele te importes? E o filho do homem, para que com ele te preocupes?
7 Thou madest|strong="G1642" him|strong="G0846" a little|strong="G1024" lower|strong="G1642" than|strong="G3844" the angels|strong="G0032"; thou crownedst|strong="G4737" him|strong="G0846" with glory|strong="G1391" and|strong="G2532" honour|strong="G5092", and|strong="G2532" didst set|strong="G2525" him|strong="G0846" over|strong="G1909" the works|strong="G2041" of|strong="G5495" thy|strong="G4675" hands|strong="G5495":
7 Tu o fizeste um pouco menor do que os anjos e o coroaste de glória e de honra;
8 Thou hast put|strong="G5293" all things|strong="G3956" in subjection|strong="G5293" under|strong="G5270" his|strong="G0846" feet|strong="G4228". 8 tudo sujeitaste debaixo dos seus pés". Ao lhe sujeitar todas as coisas, nada deixou que não lhe estivesse sujeito. Agora, porém, ainda não vemos que todas as coisas lhe estejam sujeitas.
9 But|strong="G1161" we see|strong="G0991" Jesus, who|strong="G2424" was made|strong="G1642" a little|strong="G1024" lower|strong="G1642" than|strong="G3844" the angels|strong="G0032" for|strong="G1223" the suffering|strong="G3804" of death|strong="G2288", crowned|strong="G4737" with glory|strong="G1391" and|strong="G2532" honour|strong="G5092"; that|strong="G3704" he|strong="G1089" by the grace|strong="G5485" of God|strong="G2316" should taste|strong="G1089" death|strong="G2288" for|strong="G5228" every man|strong="G3956".
9 Vemos, todavia, aquele que por um pouco foi feito menor do que os anjos, Jesus, coroado de honra e glória por ter sofrido a morte, para que, pela graça de Deus, em favor de todos, experimentasse a morte.

10 Ao levar muitos filhos à glória, convinha que Deus, por causa de quem e por meio de quem tudo existe, tornasse perfeito, mediante o sofrimento, o autor da salvação deles.
11 For|strong="G1063" both|strong="G5037" he that sanctifieth|strong="G0037" and|strong="G2532" they who are sanctified|strong="G0037" are all|strong="G3956" of|strong="G1537" one|strong="G1520": for|strong="G1223" which|strong="G3739" cause|strong="G0156" he is|strong="G1870" not|strong="G3756" ashamed|strong="G1870" to call|strong="G2564" them|strong="G0846" brethren|strong="G0080",
11 Ora, tanto o que santifica quanto os que são santificados provêm de um só. Por isso Jesus não se envergonha de chamá-los irmãos.
12 Saying|strong="G3004", I will declare|strong="G0518" thy|strong="G4675" name|strong="G3686" unto|strong="G0080" my|strong="G3450" brethren|strong="G0080", in|strong="G1722" the midst|strong="G3319" of the church|strong="G1577" will I sing praise unto|strong="G5214" thee|strong="G4571".
12 Ele diz: "Proclamarei o teu nome a meus irmãos; na assembléia te louvarei".
13 And|strong="G2532" again|strong="G3825", I|strong="G1473" will|strong="G2071" put my trust|strong="G3982" in|strong="G1909" him|strong="G0846". And|strong="G2532" again|strong="G3825", Behold|strong="G2400" I|strong="G1473" and|strong="G2532" the children|strong="G3813" which|strong="G3739" God|strong="G2316" hath given|strong="G1325" me|strong="G3427".
13 E também: "Nele porei a minha confiança". Novamente ele diz: "Aqui estou eu com os filhos que Deus me deu".
14 Forasmuch|strong="G1893" then|strong="G3767" as|strong="G1893" the children|strong="G3813" are partakers|strong="G2841" of flesh|strong="G4561" and|strong="G2532" blood|strong="G0129", he|strong="G3348" also|strong="G2532" himself|strong="G0846" likewise|strong="G3898" took part|strong="G3348" of the same|strong="G0846"; that|strong="G2443" through|strong="G1223" death|strong="G2288" he might destroy|strong="G2673" him that had|strong="G2192" the power|strong="G2904" of death|strong="G2288", that|strong="G5124" is|strong="G2076", the devil|strong="G1228";
14 Portanto, visto que os filhos são pessoas de carne e sangue, ele também participou dessa condição humana, para que, por sua morte, derrotasse aquele que tem o poder da morte, isto é, o diabo,
15 And|strong="G2532" deliver|strong="G0525" them|strong="G5128" who|strong="G3745" through fear|strong="G5401" of death|strong="G2288" were|strong="G2258" all|strong="G3956" their|strong="G3588" lifetime|strong="G2198" subject|strong="G1777" to bondage|strong="G1397".
15 e libertasse aqueles que durante toda a vida estiveram escravizados pelo medo da morte.
16 For|strong="G1063" verily|strong="G1222" he took|strong="G1949" not|strong="G3756" on|strong="G1949" him the nature of angels|strong="G0032"; but|strong="G0235" he took on|strong="G1949" him the seed of|strong="G4690" Abraham|strong="G0011".
16 Pois é claro que não é a anjos que ele ajuda, mas aos descendentes de Abraão.
17 Wherefore|strong="G3606" in|strong="G2596" all things|strong="G3956" it behoved him|strong="G3784" to be made like|strong="G3666" unto|strong="G0080" his brethren|strong="G0080", that|strong="G2443" he might be|strong="G1096" a|strong="G0749" merciful|strong="G1655" and|strong="G2532" faithful|strong="G4103" high priest|strong="G0749" in things|strong="G4314" pertaining to|strong="G4314" God|strong="G2316", to|strong="G1519" make reconciliation for|strong="G2433" the sins|strong="G0266" of the people|strong="G2992".
17 Por essa razão era necessário que ele se tornasse semelhante a seus irmãos em todos os aspectos, para se tornar sumo sacerdote misericordioso e fiel com relação a Deus e fazer propiciação pelos pecados do povo.
18 For|strong="G1063" in|strong="G1722" that|strong="G3739" he|strong="G3958" himself|strong="G0846" hath suffered|strong="G3958" being tempted|strong="G3985", he is able|strong="G1410" to succour|strong="G0997" them that are tempted|strong="G3985".
18 Porque, tendo em vista o que ele mesmo sofreu quando tentado, ele é capaz de socorrer aqueles que também estão sendo tentados.
