1 And Joseph|strong="H3130" was brought down|strong="H3381" to Egypt|strong="H4714"; and Potiphar|strong="H6318", an officer|strong="H5631" of Pharaoh|strong="H6547", captain|strong="H8269" of the guard|strong="H2876", an Egyptian|strong="H0376", bought|strong="H7069" him of the hands|strong="H3027" of the Ishmeelites|strong="H3459", which had brought him down|strong="H3381" thither.
1 José foi levado ao Egito; e Potifar, oficial de Faraó, capitão da guarda, egípcio, comprou-o da mão dos ismaelitas que o haviam levado para lá.
2 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* was with Joseph|strong="H3130", and he was a prosperous|strong="H6743" man|strong="H0376"; and he was in the house|strong="H1004" of his master|strong="H0113" the Egyptian|strong="H4713".
2 Mas o Senhor era com José, e ele tornou-se próspero; e estava na casa do seu senhor, o egípcio.
3 And his master|strong="H0113" saw|strong="H7200" that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* was with him, and that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* made all that he did|strong="H6213" to prosper|strong="H6743" in his hand|strong="H3027".
3 E viu o seu senhor que Deus era com ele, e que fazia prosperar em sua mão tudo quanto ele empreendia.
4 And Joseph|strong="H3130" found|strong="H4672" grace|strong="H2580" in his sight|strong="H5869", and he served|strong="H8334" him: and he made him overseer|strong="H6485" over his house|strong="H1004", and all that he had|strong="H3426" he put|strong="H5414" into his hand|strong="H3027".
4 Assim José achou graça aos olhos dele, e o servia; de modo que o fez mordomo da sua casa, e entregou na sua mão tudo o que tinha.
5 And it came to pass from the time|strong="H0227" that he had made him overseer|strong="H6485" in his house|strong="H1004", and over all that he had|strong="H3426", that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* blessed|strong="H1288" the Egyptian’s|strong="H4713" house|strong="H1004" for Joseph’s|strong="H3130" sake|strong="H1558"; and the blessing|strong="H1293" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* was upon all that he had|strong="H3426" in the house|strong="H1004", and in the field|strong="H7704".
5 Desde que o pôs como mordomo sobre a sua casa e sobre todos os seus bens, o Senhor abençoou a casa do egípcio por amor de José; e a bênção do Senhor estava sobre tudo o que tinha, tanto na casa como no campo.
6 And he left|strong="H5800" all that he had in Joseph’s|strong="H3130" hand|strong="H3027"; and he knew|strong="H3045" not ought|strong="H3972" he had, save|strong="H0518" the bread|strong="H3899" which he did eat|strong="H0398". And Joseph|strong="H3130" was a goodly|strong="H8389" person, and well|strong="H3303" favoured|strong="H4758".
6 Potifar deixou tudo na mão de José, de maneira que nada sabia do que estava com ele, a não ser do pão que comia. Ora, José era formoso de porte e de semblante.
7 And it came to pass after|strong="H0310" these things|strong="H1697", that his master’s|strong="H0113" wife|strong="H0802" cast|strong="H5375" her eyes|strong="H5869" upon Joseph|strong="H3130"; and she said|strong="H0559", Lie|strong="H7901" with me.
7 E aconteceu depois destas coisas que a mulher do seu senhor pôs os olhos em José, e lhe disse: Deita-te comigo.
8 But he refused|strong="H3985", and said|strong="H0559" unto his master’s|strong="H0113" wife|strong="H0802", Behold, my master|strong="H0113" wotteth|strong="H3045" not what is with me in the house|strong="H1004", and he hath committed|strong="H5414" all that he hath|strong="H3426" to my hand|strong="H3027";
8 Mas ele recusou, e disse à mulher do seu senhor: Eis que o meu senhor não sabe o que está comigo na sua casa, e entregou em minha mão tudo o que tem;
9 There is none greater|strong="H1419" in this house|strong="H1004" than I; neither|strong="H3808" hath he kept back|strong="H2820" any thing|strong="H3972" from me but thee, because|strong="H0834" thou|strong="H0859" art his wife|strong="H0802": how then can I do|strong="H6213" this great|strong="H1419" wickedness|strong="H7451", and sin|strong="H2398" against God|strong="H0430"?
9 ele não é maior do que eu nesta casa; e nenhuma coisa me vedou, senão a ti, porquanto és sua mulher. Como, pois, posso eu cometer este grande mal, e pecar contra Deus?
10 And it came to pass, as she spake|strong="H1696" to Joseph|strong="H3130" day|strong="H3117" by day|strong="H3117", that he hearkened|strong="H8085" not unto her, to lie|strong="H7901" by her|strong="H0681", or to be with her.
10 Entretanto, ela instava com José dia após dia; ele, porém, não lhe dava ouvidos, para se deitar com ela, ou estar com ela.
11 And it came to pass about this time|strong="H3117", that Joseph went|strong="H0935" into the house|strong="H1004" to do|strong="H6213" his business|strong="H4399"; and there was none of the men|strong="H0376" of the house|strong="H1004" there within.
11 Mas sucedeu, certo dia, que entrou na casa para fazer o seu serviço; e nenhum dos homens da casa estava lá dentro.
12 And she caught|strong="H8610" him by his garment|strong="H0899", saying|strong="H0559", Lie|strong="H7901" with me: and he left|strong="H5800" his garment|strong="H0899" in her hand|strong="H3027", and fled|strong="H5127", and got|strong="H3318" him out|strong="H2351".
12 Então ela, pegando-o pela capa, lhe disse: Deita-te comigo! Mas ele, deixando a capa na mão dela, fugiu, escapando para fora.
13 And it came to pass, when she saw|strong="H7200" that he had left|strong="H5800" his garment|strong="H0899" in her hand|strong="H3027", and was fled|strong="H5127" forth|strong="H2351",
13 Quando ela viu que ele deixara a capa na mão dela e fugira para fora,
14 That she called|strong="H7121" unto the men|strong="H0582" of her house|strong="H1004", and spake|strong="H0559" unto them, saying|strong="H0559", See|strong="H7200", he hath brought in|strong="H0935" an Hebrew|strong="H0376" unto us to mock|strong="H6711" us; he came in|strong="H0935" unto me to lie|strong="H7901" with me, and I cried|strong="H7121" with a loud|strong="H1419" voice|strong="H6963":
14 chamou pelos homens de sua casa, e disse-lhes: Vede! meu marido trouxe-nos um hebreu para nos insultar; veio a mim para se deitar comigo, e eu gritei em alta voz;
15 And it came to pass, when he heard|strong="H8085" that I lifted up|strong="H7311" my voice|strong="H6963" and cried|strong="H7121", that he left|strong="H5800" his garment|strong="H0899" with me|strong="H0681", and fled|strong="H5127", and got him|strong="H3318" out|strong="H2351".
15 e ouvigiu-se para ela no caminho, e disse: Vem, deixa-me deixou, aqui a sua capa e fugiu, escapando para fora.
16 And she laid up|strong="H3240" his garment|strong="H0899" by her|strong="H0681", until his lord|strong="H0113" came|strong="H0935" home|strong="H1004".
16 Ela guardou a capa consigo, até que o senhor dele voltou a casa.
17 And she spake|strong="H1696" unto him according to these words|strong="H1697", saying|strong="H0559", The Hebrew|strong="H5680" servant|strong="H5650", which thou hast brought|strong="H0935" unto us, came in|strong="H0935" unto me to mock|strong="H6711" me:
17 Então falou-lhe conforme as mesmas palavras, dizendo: O servo hebreu, que nos trouxeste, veio a mim para me insultar;
18 And it came to pass, as I lifted up|strong="H7311" my voice|strong="H6963" and cried|strong="H7121", that he left|strong="H5800" his garment|strong="H0899" with me|strong="H0681", and fled|strong="H5127" out|strong="H2351".
18 mas, levantando eu a voz e gritando, ele deixou comigo a capa e fugiu para fora.
19 And it came to pass, when his master|strong="H0113" heard|strong="H8085" the words|strong="H1697" of his wife|strong="H0802", which she spake|strong="H1696" unto him, saying|strong="H0559", After this manner|strong="H1697" did|strong="H6213" thy servant|strong="H5650" to me; that his wrath|strong="H0639" was kindled|strong="H2734".
19 Tendo o seu senhor ouvido as palavras de sua mulher, que lhe falava, dizendo: Desta maneira me fez teu servo, a sua ira se acendeu.
20 And Joseph’s|strong="H3130" master|strong="H0113" took|strong="H3947" him, and put him|strong="H5414" into the prison|strong="H1004", a place|strong="H4725" where the king’s|strong="H4428" prisoners|strong="H0615" were bound|strong="H0631": and he was there in the prison|strong="H1004".
20 Então o senhor de José o tomou, e o lançou no cárcere, no lugar em que os presos do rei estavam encarcerados; e ele ficou ali no cárcere.
21 But the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* was with Joseph|strong="H3130", and shewed|strong="H5186" him mercy|strong="H2617", and gave|strong="H5414" him favour|strong="H2580" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the keeper|strong="H8269" of the prison|strong="H1004".
21 O Senhor, porém, era com José, estendendo sobre ele a sua benignidade e dando-lhe graça aos olhos do carcereiro,
22 And the keeper|strong="H8269" of the prison|strong="H1004" committed|strong="H5414" to Joseph’s|strong="H3130" hand|strong="H3027" all the prisoners|strong="H0615" that were in the prison|strong="H1004"; and whatsoever they did|strong="H6213" there, he was the doer|strong="H6213" of it.
22 o qual entregou na mão de José todos os presos que estavam no cárcere; e era José quem ordenava tudo o que se fazia ali.
23 The keeper|strong="H8269" of the prison|strong="H1004" looked|strong="H7200" not to any thing|strong="H3972" that was under his hand|strong="H3027"; because the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* was with him, and that which he did|strong="H6213", the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* made it to prosper|strong="H6743".
23 E o carcereiro não tinha cuidado de coisa alguma que estava na mão de José, porquanto o Senhor era com ele, fazendo prosperar tudo quanto ele empreendia.
