Gênesis 40

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

And it came to pass after|strong="H0310" these things|strong="H1697", that the butler|strong="H8248" of the king|strong="H4428" of Egypt|strong="H4714" and his baker|strong="H0644" had offended|strong="H2398" their lord|strong="H0113" the king|strong="H4428" of Egypt|strong="H4714".

And Pharaoh|strong="H6547" was wroth|strong="H7107" against|strong="H5921" two|strong="H8147" of his officers|strong="H5631", against the chief|strong="H8269" of the butlers|strong="H8248", and against the chief|strong="H8269" of the bakers|strong="H0644".

And he put|strong="H5414" them in ward|strong="H4929" in the house|strong="H1004" of the captain|strong="H8269" of the guard|strong="H2876", into the prison|strong="H1004", the place|strong="H4725" where Joseph|strong="H3130" was bound|strong="H0631".

And the captain|strong="H8269" of the guard|strong="H2876" charged|strong="H6485" Joseph|strong="H3130" with them, and he served|strong="H8334" them: and they continued a season|strong="H3117" in ward|strong="H4929".

And they dreamed|strong="H2492" a dream|strong="H2472" both of them|strong="H8147", each man|strong="H0376" his dream|strong="H2472" in one|strong="H0259" night|strong="H3915", each man|strong="H0376" according to the interpretation|strong="H6623" of his dream|strong="H2472", the butler|strong="H8248" and the baker|strong="H0644" of the king|strong="H4428" of Egypt|strong="H4714", which were bound|strong="H0631" in the prison|strong="H1004".

And Joseph|strong="H3130" came in|strong="H0935" unto them in the morning|strong="H1242", and looked|strong="H7200" upon them, and, behold, they were sad|strong="H2196".

And he asked|strong="H7592" Pharaoh’s|strong="H6547" officers|strong="H5631" that were with him in the ward|strong="H4929" of his lord’s|strong="H0113" house|strong="H1004", saying|strong="H0559", Wherefore look|strong="H6440" ye so sadly|strong="H7451" to day|strong="H3117"?

And they said|strong="H0559" unto him, We have dreamed|strong="H2492" a dream|strong="H2472", and there is no interpreter|strong="H6622" of it. And Joseph|strong="H3130" said|strong="H0559" unto them, Do not interpretations|strong="H6623" belong to God|strong="H0430"? tell me|strong="H5608" them, I pray you.

And the chief|strong="H8269" butler|strong="H8248" told|strong="H5608" his dream|strong="H2472" to Joseph|strong="H3130", and said|strong="H0559" to him, In my dream|strong="H2472", behold, a vine|strong="H1612" was before me|strong="H6440";

And in the vine|strong="H1612" were three|strong="H7969" branches|strong="H8299": and it was as though it budded|strong="H6524", and her blossoms|strong="H5322" shot forth|strong="H5927"; and the clusters|strong="H0811" thereof brought forth ripe|strong="H1310" grapes|strong="H6025":

And Pharaoh’s|strong="H6547" cup|strong="H3563" was in my hand|strong="H3027": and I took|strong="H3947" the grapes|strong="H6025", and pressed|strong="H7818" them into Pharaoh’s|strong="H6547" cup|strong="H3563", and I gave|strong="H5414" the cup|strong="H3563" into Pharaoh’s|strong="H6547" hand|strong="H3709".

And Joseph|strong="H3130" said|strong="H0559" unto him, This is the interpretation|strong="H6623" of it: The three|strong="H7969" branches|strong="H8299" are three|strong="H7969" days|strong="H3117":

Yet|strong="H5750" within three|strong="H7969" days|strong="H3117" shall Pharaoh|strong="H6547" lift up|strong="H5375" thine head|strong="H7218", and restore|strong="H7725" thee unto thy place|strong="H3653": and thou shalt deliver|strong="H5414" Pharaoh’s|strong="H6547" cup|strong="H3563" into his hand|strong="H3027", after the former|strong="H7223" manner|strong="H4941" when thou wast his butler|strong="H8248".

But think|strong="H2142" on me when it shall be well|strong="H3190" with thee, and shew|strong="H6213" kindness|strong="H2617", I pray thee, unto me, and make mention|strong="H2142" of me unto Pharaoh|strong="H6547", and bring me|strong="H3318" out of this house|strong="H1004":

For indeed I was stolen away|strong="H1589" out of the land|strong="H0776" of the Hebrews|strong="H5680": and here also have I done|strong="H6213" nothing|strong="H3972" that they should put|strong="H7760" me into the dungeon|strong="H0953".

When the chief|strong="H8269" baker|strong="H0644" saw|strong="H7200" that the interpretation|strong="H6622" was good|strong="H2896", he said|strong="H0559" unto Joseph|strong="H3130", I also|strong="H0637" was in my dream|strong="H2472", and, behold, I had three|strong="H7969" white|strong="H2751" baskets|strong="H5536" on my head|strong="H7218":

And in the uppermost|strong="H5945" basket|strong="H5536" there was of all manner|strong="H3978" of bakemeats|strong="H4639" for Pharaoh|strong="H6547"; and the birds|strong="H5775" did eat|strong="H0398" them out of the basket|strong="H5536" upon|strong="H5921" my head|strong="H7218".

And Joseph|strong="H3130" answered|strong="H6030" and said|strong="H0559", This is the interpretation|strong="H6623" thereof: The three|strong="H7969" baskets|strong="H5536" are three|strong="H7969" days|strong="H3117":

Yet within three|strong="H7969" days|strong="H3117" shall Pharaoh|strong="H6547" lift up|strong="H5375" thy head|strong="H7218" from off thee, and shall hang|strong="H8518" thee on a tree|strong="H6086"; and the birds|strong="H5775" shall eat|strong="H0398" thy flesh|strong="H1320" from off thee.

And it came to pass the third|strong="H7992" day|strong="H3117", which was Pharaoh’s|strong="H6547" birthday|strong="H3117", that he made|strong="H6213" a feast|strong="H4960" unto all his servants|strong="H5650": and he lifted up|strong="H5375" the head|strong="H7218" of the chief|strong="H8269" butler|strong="H8248" and of the chief|strong="H8269" baker|strong="H0644" among|strong="H8432" his servants|strong="H5650".

And he restored|strong="H7725" the chief|strong="H8269" butler|strong="H8248" unto his butlership|strong="H4945" again|strong="H7725"; and he gave|strong="H5414" the cup|strong="H3563" into Pharaoh’s|strong="H6547" hand|strong="H3709":

But he hanged|strong="H8518" the chief|strong="H8269" baker|strong="H0644": as Joseph|strong="H3130" had interpreted|strong="H6622" to them.

Yet did not the chief|strong="H8269" butler|strong="H8248" remember|strong="H2142" Joseph|strong="H3130", but forgat|strong="H7911" him.
