Gênesis 26

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

And there was a famine|strong="H7458" in the land|strong="H0776", beside|strong="H0905" the first|strong="H7223" famine|strong="H7458" that was in the days|strong="H3117" of Abraham|strong="H0085". And Isaac|strong="H3327" went|strong="H3212" unto Abimelech|strong="H0040" king|strong="H4428" of the Philistines|strong="H6430" unto Gerar|strong="H1642".

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* appeared|strong="H7200" unto him, and said|strong="H0559", Go not down|strong="H3381" into Egypt|strong="H4714"; dwell|strong="H7931" in the land|strong="H0776" which I shall tell|strong="H0559" thee of:

Sojourn|strong="H1481" in this land|strong="H0776", and I will be with thee, and will bless|strong="H1288" thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed|strong="H2233", I will give|strong="H5414" all these|strong="H0411" countries|strong="H0776", and I will perform|strong="H6965" the oath|strong="H7621" which I sware|strong="H7650" unto Abraham|strong="H0085" thy father|strong="H0001";

And I will make|strong="H7235" thy seed|strong="H2233" to multiply|strong="H7235" as the stars|strong="H3556" of heaven|strong="H8064", and will give|strong="H5414" unto thy seed|strong="H2233" all these|strong="H0411" countries|strong="H0776"; and in thy seed|strong="H2233" shall all the nations|strong="H1471" of the earth|strong="H0776" be blessed|strong="H1288";

Because|strong="H6118" that Abraham|strong="H0085" obeyed|strong="H8085" my voice|strong="H6963", and kept|strong="H8104" my charge|strong="H4931", my commandments|strong="H4687", my statutes|strong="H2708", and my laws|strong="H8451".

And Isaac|strong="H3327" dwelt|strong="H3427" in Gerar|strong="H1642":

And the men|strong="H0582" of the place|strong="H4725" asked|strong="H7592" him of his wife|strong="H0802"; and he said|strong="H0559", She is my sister|strong="H0269": for he feared|strong="H3372" to say|strong="H0559", She is my wife|strong="H0802"; lest, said he, the men|strong="H0582" of the place|strong="H4725" should kill|strong="H2026" me for Rebekah|strong="H7259"; because she was fair|strong="H2896" to look upon|strong="H4758".

And it came to pass, when he had been there a long|strong="H0748" time|strong="H3117", that Abimelech|strong="H0040" king|strong="H4428" of the Philistines|strong="H6430" looked out|strong="H8259" at|strong="H1157" a window|strong="H2474", and saw|strong="H7200", and, behold, Isaac|strong="H3327" was sporting|strong="H6711" with Rebekah|strong="H7259" his wife|strong="H0802".

And Abimelech|strong="H0040" called|strong="H7121" Isaac|strong="H3327", and said|strong="H0559", Behold, of a surety|strong="H0389" she is thy wife|strong="H0802": and how saidst|strong="H0559" thou, She is my sister|strong="H0269"? And Isaac|strong="H3327" said|strong="H0559" unto him, Because I said|strong="H0559", Lest I die|strong="H4191" for her.

And Abimelech|strong="H0040" said|strong="H0559", What is this thou hast done|strong="H6213" unto us? one|strong="H0259" of the people|strong="H5971" might lightly|strong="H4592" have lien|strong="H7901" with thy wife|strong="H0802", and thou shouldest have brought|strong="H0935" guiltiness|strong="H0817" upon us.

And Abimelech|strong="H0040" charged|strong="H6680" all his people|strong="H5971", saying|strong="H0559", He that toucheth|strong="H5060" this man|strong="H0376" or his wife|strong="H0802" shall surely|strong="H4191" be put to death|strong="H4191".

Then Isaac|strong="H3327" sowed|strong="H2232" in that land|strong="H0776", and received|strong="H4672" in the same year|strong="H8141" an hundredfold|strong="H3967": and the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* blessed|strong="H1288" him.

And the man|strong="H0376" waxed great|strong="H1431", and went|strong="H3212" forward|strong="H1980", and grew|strong="H1432" until he became|strong="H1431" very|strong="H3966" great|strong="H1431":

For he had possession|strong="H4735" of flocks|strong="H6629", and possession|strong="H4735" of herds|strong="H1241", and great store|strong="H7227" of servants|strong="H5657": and the Philistines|strong="H6430" envied|strong="H7065" him.

For all the wells|strong="H0875" which his father’s|strong="H0001" servants|strong="H5650" had digged|strong="H2658" in the days|strong="H3117" of Abraham|strong="H0085" his father|strong="H0001", the Philistines|strong="H6430" had stopped|strong="H5640" them, and filled|strong="H4390" them with earth|strong="H6083".

And Abimelech|strong="H0040" said|strong="H0559" unto Isaac|strong="H3327", Go|strong="H3212" from us; for thou art much|strong="H3966" mightier|strong="H6105" than we.

And Isaac|strong="H3327" departed|strong="H3212" thence, and pitched his tent|strong="H2583" in the valley|strong="H5158" of Gerar|strong="H1642", and dwelt|strong="H3427" there|strong="H8033".

And Isaac|strong="H3327" digged|strong="H2658" again|strong="H7725" the wells|strong="H0875" of water|strong="H4325", which they had digged|strong="H2658" in the days|strong="H3117" of Abraham|strong="H0085" his father|strong="H0001"; for the Philistines|strong="H6430" had stopped|strong="H5640" them after|strong="H0310" the death|strong="H4194" of Abraham|strong="H0085": and he called|strong="H7121" their names|strong="H8034" after the names|strong="H8034" by which|strong="H0834" his father|strong="H0001" had called|strong="H7121" them.

And Isaac’s|strong="H3327" servants|strong="H5650" digged|strong="H2658" in the valley|strong="H5158", and found|strong="H4672" there a well|strong="H0875" of springing|strong="H2416" water|strong="H4325".

And the herdmen|strong="H7462" of Gerar|strong="H1642" did strive|strong="H7378" with Isaac’s|strong="H3327" herdmen|strong="H7462", saying|strong="H0559", The water|strong="H4325" is ours: and he called|strong="H7121" the name|strong="H8034" of the well|strong="H0875" Esek|strong="H6230"; because they strove|strong="H6229" with him.

And they digged|strong="H2658" another|strong="H0312" well|strong="H0875", and strove|strong="H7378" for that also: and he called|strong="H7121" the name of it|strong="H8034" Sitnah|strong="H7856".

And he removed|strong="H6275" from thence, and digged|strong="H2658" another|strong="H0312" well|strong="H0875"; and for that they strove|strong="H7378" not: and he called|strong="H7121" the name of it|strong="H8034" Rehoboth|strong="H7344"; and he said|strong="H0559", For now|strong="H6258" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath made room|strong="H7337" for us, and we shall be fruitful|strong="H6509" in the land|strong="H0776".

And he went up|strong="H5927" from thence to Beer-sheba|strong="H0884".

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* appeared|strong="H7200" unto him the same night|strong="H3915", and said|strong="H0559", I am the God|strong="H0430" of Abraham|strong="H0085" thy father|strong="H0001": fear|strong="H3372" not, for I am with|strong="H0854" thee, and will bless|strong="H1288" thee, and multiply|strong="H7235" thy seed|strong="H2233" for my servant|strong="H5650" Abraham’s|strong="H0085" sake.

And he builded|strong="H1129" an altar|strong="H4196" there, and called|strong="H7121" upon the name|strong="H8034" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and pitched|strong="H5186" his tent|strong="H0168" there: and there Isaac’s|strong="H3327" servants|strong="H5650" digged|strong="H3738" a well|strong="H0875".

Then Abimelech|strong="H0040" went|strong="H1980" to him from Gerar|strong="H1642", and Ahuzzath|strong="H0276" one of his friends|strong="H4828", and Phichol|strong="H6369" the chief captain|strong="H8269" of his army|strong="H6635".

And Isaac|strong="H3327" said|strong="H0559" unto them, Wherefore|strong="H4069" come|strong="H0935" ye to me, seeing ye hate|strong="H8130" me, and have sent me away|strong="H7971" from you?

And they said|strong="H0559", We saw|strong="H7200" certainly|strong="H7200" that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* was with thee: and we said|strong="H0559", Let there be now an oath|strong="H0423" betwixt|strong="H0996" us, even betwixt|strong="H0996" us and thee, and let us make|strong="H3772" a covenant|strong="H1285" with thee;

That thou wilt do|strong="H6213" us no hurt|strong="H7451", as we have not touched|strong="H5060" thee, and as we have done|strong="H6213" unto thee nothing but|strong="H7535" good|strong="H2896", and have sent thee away|strong="H7971" in peace|strong="H7965": thou art now|strong="H6258" the blessed|strong="H1288" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.

And he made|strong="H6213" them a feast|strong="H4960", and they did eat|strong="H0398" and drink|strong="H8354".

And they rose up betimes|strong="H7925" in the morning|strong="H1242", and sware|strong="H7650" one|strong="H0376" to another|strong="H0251": and Isaac|strong="H3327" sent them away|strong="H7971", and they departed|strong="H3212" from him in peace|strong="H7965".

And it came to pass the same day|strong="H3117", that Isaac’s|strong="H3327" servants|strong="H5650" came|strong="H0935", and told|strong="H5046" him concerning|strong="H0182" the well|strong="H0875" which they had digged|strong="H2658", and said|strong="H0559" unto him, We have found|strong="H4672" water|strong="H4325".

And he called|strong="H7121" it Shebah|strong="H7656": therefore the name|strong="H8034" of the city|strong="H5892" is Beer-sheba|strong="H0884" unto this day|strong="H3117".

And Esau|strong="H6215" was forty|strong="H0705" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121" when he took|strong="H3947" to wife|strong="H0802" Judith|strong="H3067" the daughter|strong="H1323" of Beeri|strong="H0882" the Hittite|strong="H2850", and Bashemath|strong="H1315" the daughter|strong="H1323" of Elon|strong="H0356" the Hittite|strong="H2850":

Which were a grief|strong="H4786" of mind|strong="H7307" unto Isaac|strong="H3327" and to Rebekah|strong="H7259".
