1 And it came to pass in the sixth|strong="H8345" year|strong="H8141", in the sixth|strong="H8345" month, in the fifth|strong="H2568" day of the month|strong="H2320", as I sat|strong="H3427" in mine house|strong="H1004", and the elders|strong="H2205" of Judah|strong="H3063" sat|strong="H3427" before|strong="H6440" me, that the hand|strong="H3027" of the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w* fell|strong="H5307" there upon me.
2 Then I beheld|strong="H7200", and lo a likeness|strong="H1823" as the appearance|strong="H4758" of fire|strong="H0784": from the appearance|strong="H4758" of his loins|strong="H4975" even downward|strong="H4295", fire|strong="H0784"; and from his loins|strong="H4975" even upward|strong="H4605", as the appearance|strong="H4758" of brightness|strong="H2096", as the colour|strong="H5869" of amber|strong="H2830".
3 And he put forth|strong="H7971" the form|strong="H8403" of an hand|strong="H3027", and took|strong="H3947" me by a lock|strong="H6734" of mine head|strong="H7218"; and the spirit|strong="H7307" lifted me up|strong="H5375" between the earth|strong="H0776" and the heaven|strong="H8064", and brought|strong="H0935" me in the visions|strong="H4759" of God|strong="H0430" to Jerusalem|strong="H3389", to the door|strong="H6607" of the inner|strong="H6442" gate|strong="H8179" that looketh|strong="H6437" toward the north|strong="H6828"; where was the seat|strong="H4186" of the image|strong="H5566" of jealousy|strong="H7068", which provoketh to jealousy|strong="H7069".
4 And, behold, the glory|strong="H3519" of the God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478" was there, according to the vision|strong="H4758" that I saw|strong="H7200" in the plain|strong="H1237".
5 Then said|strong="H0559" he unto me, Son|strong="H1121" of man|strong="H0120", lift up|strong="H5375" thine eyes|strong="H5869" now the way|strong="H1870" toward the north|strong="H6828". So I lifted up|strong="H5375" mine eyes|strong="H5869" the way|strong="H1870" toward the north|strong="H6828", and behold northward|strong="H6828" at the gate|strong="H8179" of the altar|strong="H4196" this image|strong="H5566" of jealousy|strong="H7068" in the entry|strong="H0872".
6 He said|strong="H0559" furthermore unto me, Son|strong="H1121" of man|strong="H0120", seest|strong="H7200" thou what they do|strong="H6213"? even the great|strong="H1419" abominations|strong="H8441" that the house|strong="H1004" of Israel|strong="H3478" committeth|strong="H6213" here, that I should go far off|strong="H7368" from my sanctuary|strong="H4720"? but turn|strong="H7725" thee yet again, and thou shalt see|strong="H7200" greater|strong="H1419" abominations|strong="H8441".
7 And he brought|strong="H0935" me to the door|strong="H6607" of the court|strong="H2691"; and when I looked|strong="H7200", behold a|strong="H0259" hole|strong="H2356" in the wall|strong="H7023".
8 Then said|strong="H0559" he unto me, Son|strong="H1121" of man|strong="H0120", dig|strong="H2864" now in the wall|strong="H7023": and when I had digged|strong="H2864" in the wall|strong="H7023", behold a|strong="H0259" door|strong="H6607".
9 And he said|strong="H0559" unto me, Go in|strong="H0935", and behold|strong="H7200" the wicked|strong="H7451" abominations|strong="H8441" that they do|strong="H6213" here.
10 So I went in|strong="H0935" and saw|strong="H7200"; and behold every form|strong="H8403" of creeping things|strong="H7431", and abominable|strong="H8263" beasts|strong="H0929", and all the idols|strong="H1544" of the house|strong="H1004" of Israel|strong="H3478", pourtrayed|strong="H2707" upon the wall|strong="H7023" round about|strong="H5439".
11 And there stood|strong="H5975" before|strong="H6440" them seventy|strong="H7657" men|strong="H0376" of the ancients|strong="H2205" of the house|strong="H1004" of Israel|strong="H3478", and in the midst|strong="H8432" of them stood|strong="H5975" Jaazaniah|strong="H2970" the son|strong="H1121" of Shaphan|strong="H8227", with every man|strong="H0376" his censer|strong="H4730" in his hand|strong="H3027"; and a thick|strong="H6282" cloud|strong="H6051" of incense|strong="H7004" went up|strong="H5927".
12 Then said|strong="H0559" he unto me, Son|strong="H1121" of man|strong="H0120", hast thou seen|strong="H7200" what the ancients|strong="H2205" of the house|strong="H1004" of Israel|strong="H3478" do|strong="H6213" in the dark|strong="H2822", every man|strong="H0376" in the chambers|strong="H2315" of his imagery|strong="H4906"? for they say|strong="H0559", The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* seeth|strong="H7200" us not; the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath forsaken|strong="H5800" the earth|strong="H0776".
13 He said|strong="H0559" also unto me, Turn|strong="H7725" thee yet again, and thou shalt see|strong="H7200" greater|strong="H1419" abominations|strong="H8441" that they do|strong="H6213".
14 Then he brought|strong="H0935" me to the door|strong="H6607" of the gate|strong="H8179" of the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* house|strong="H1004" which was toward the north|strong="H6828"; and, behold, there sat|strong="H3427" women|strong="H0802" weeping|strong="H1058" for Tammuz|strong="H8542".
15 Then said|strong="H0559" he unto me, Hast thou seen|strong="H7200" this, O son|strong="H1121" of man|strong="H0120"? turn|strong="H7725" thee yet again, and thou shalt see|strong="H7200" greater|strong="H1419" abominations|strong="H8441" than these.
16 And he brought|strong="H0935" me into the inner|strong="H6442" court|strong="H2691" of the \+w LORD’s|strong="H3068"\+w* house|strong="H1004", and, behold, at the door|strong="H6607" of the temple|strong="H1964" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, between the porch|strong="H0197" and the altar|strong="H4196", were about five|strong="H2568" and twenty|strong="H6242" men|strong="H0376", with their backs|strong="H0268" toward the temple|strong="H1964" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and their faces|strong="H6440" toward the east|strong="H6924"; and they worshipped|strong="H7812" the sun|strong="H8121" toward the east|strong="H6924".
17 Then he said|strong="H0559" unto me, Hast thou seen|strong="H7200" this, O son|strong="H1121" of man|strong="H0120"? Is it a light thing|strong="H7043" to the house|strong="H1004" of Judah|strong="H3063" that they commit|strong="H6213" the abominations|strong="H8441" which they commit|strong="H6213" here? for they have filled|strong="H4390" the land|strong="H0776" with violence|strong="H2555", and have returned|strong="H7725" to provoke me to anger|strong="H3707": and, lo, they put|strong="H7971" the branch|strong="H2156" to their nose|strong="H0639".
18 Therefore will I also deal|strong="H6213" in fury|strong="H2534": mine eye|strong="H5869" shall not spare|strong="H2347", neither will I have pity|strong="H2550": and though they cry|strong="H7121" in mine ears|strong="H0241" with a loud|strong="H1419" voice|strong="H6963", yet will I not hear|strong="H8085" them.
