2 And|strong="G1161" entering into|strong="G1910" a ship|strong="G4143" of Adramyttium|strong="G0098", we launched|strong="G0321", meaning|strong="G3195" to sail|strong="G4126" by|strong="G2596" the coasts|strong="G5117" of Asia|strong="G0773"; one Aristarchus|strong="G0708", a Macedonian|strong="G3110" of Thessalonica|strong="G2331", being|strong="G5607" with|strong="G4862" us|strong="G2254".
3 And|strong="G5037" the next|strong="G2087" day we touched|strong="G2609" at|strong="G1519" Sidon|strong="G4605". And|strong="G5037" Julius|strong="G2457" courteously|strong="G5364" entreated|strong="G5530" Paul|strong="G3972", and gave|strong="G2010" him liberty|strong="G2010" to go|strong="G4198" unto|strong="G4314" his friends|strong="G5384" to refresh himself|strong="G5177".
4 And when|strong="G2547" we had launched|strong="G0321" from thence|strong="G2547", we sailed under|strong="G5284" Cyprus|strong="G2954", because|strong="G1223" the winds|strong="G0417" were|strong="G1511" contrary|strong="G1727".
5 And|strong="G5037" when we had sailed over|strong="G1277" the sea|strong="G3989" of|strong="G2596" Cilicia|strong="G2791" and|strong="G2532" Pamphylia|strong="G3828", we came|strong="G2718" to|strong="G1519" Myra|strong="G3460", a city of Lycia|strong="G3073".
6 And there|strong="G2546" the centurion|strong="G1543" found|strong="G2147" a ship|strong="G4143" of Alexandria|strong="G0222" sailing|strong="G4126" into|strong="G1519" Italy|strong="G2482"; and he put|strong="G1688" us|strong="G2248" therein|strong="G0846".
7 And|strong="G1161" when|strong="G1722" we had sailed slowly|strong="G1020" many|strong="G2425" days|strong="G2250", and|strong="G2532" scarce|strong="G3433" were come|strong="G1096" over against|strong="G2596" Cnidus|strong="G2834", the wind|strong="G0417" not|strong="G3361" suffering|strong="G4330" us|strong="G2248", we sailed under|strong="G5284" Crete|strong="G2914", over against|strong="G2596" Salmone|strong="G4534";
8 And|strong="G5037", hardly|strong="G3433" passing|strong="G3881" it|strong="G0846", came|strong="G2064" unto|strong="G1519" a place|strong="G5117" which|strong="G5100" is called|strong="G2564" The fair|strong="G2568" havens|strong="G2568"; nigh|strong="G1451" whereunto|strong="G3739" was|strong="G2258" the city|strong="G4172" of Lasea|strong="G2996".
9 Now|strong="G1161" when much|strong="G2425" time|strong="G5550" was spent|strong="G1230", and|strong="G2532" when sailing|strong="G4144" was|strong="G5607" now|strong="G2235" dangerous|strong="G2000", because|strong="G1223" the fast|strong="G3521" was|strong="G3928" now|strong="G2532" already|strong="G2235" past|strong="G3928", Paul|strong="G3972" admonished|strong="G3867" them,
10 And|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004" unto them|strong="G0846", Sirs|strong="G0435", I perceive|strong="G2334" that|strong="G3754" this voyage|strong="G4144" will|strong="G3195" be|strong="G2071" with|strong="G3326" hurt|strong="G5196" and much|strong="G4183" damage|strong="G2209", not|strong="G3756" only|strong="G3440" of the lading|strong="G5414" and|strong="G2532" ship|strong="G4143", but|strong="G0235" also|strong="G2532" of our|strong="G2257" lives|strong="G5590".
11 Nevertheless|strong="G1161" the centurion|strong="G1543" believed|strong="G3982" the master|strong="G2942" and|strong="G2532" the owner of the ship|strong="G3490", more|strong="G3123" than|strong="G2228" those things|strong="G3588" which were spoken|strong="G3004" by|strong="G5259" Paul|strong="G3972".
12 And|strong="G1161" because the haven|strong="G3040" was|strong="G5225" not commodious|strong="G0428" to|strong="G4314" winter in|strong="G3915", the more part|strong="G4119" advised|strong="G5087" to depart|strong="G0321" thence also|strong="G2547", if by any means|strong="G1513" they might|strong="G1410" attain|strong="G2658" to|strong="G1519" Phenice|strong="G5405", and there to winter|strong="G3914"; which is an haven|strong="G3040" of Crete|strong="G2914", and lieth|strong="G0991" toward|strong="G2596" the south west|strong="G3047" and|strong="G2532" north west|strong="G5566".
13 And|strong="G1161" when the south wind|strong="G3558" blew softly|strong="G5285", supposing that|strong="G1380" they had obtained|strong="G2902" their purpose|strong="G4286", loosing|strong="G0142" thence, they sailed|strong="G3881" close|strong="G0788" by Crete|strong="G2914".
14 But|strong="G1161" not|strong="G3756" long|strong="G4183" after|strong="G3326" there arose|strong="G0906" against|strong="G2596" it|strong="G0846" a tempestuous|strong="G5189" wind|strong="G0417", called|strong="G2564" Euroclydon|strong="G2148".
15 And|strong="G1161" when the ship|strong="G4143" was caught|strong="G4884", and|strong="G2532" could|strong="G1410" not|strong="G3361" bear up into|strong="G0503" the wind|strong="G0417", we let|strong="G1929" her drive|strong="G5342".
16 And|strong="G1161" running under|strong="G5295" a certain|strong="G5100" island|strong="G3519" which is called|strong="G2564" Clauda|strong="G2802", we had much|strong="G2480" work|strong="G3433" to come|strong="G1096" by|strong="G4031" the boat|strong="G4627":
17 Which|strong="G3739" when they had taken up|strong="G0142", they used|strong="G5530" helps|strong="G0996", undergirding|strong="G5269" the ship|strong="G4143"; and|strong="G5037", fearing|strong="G5399" lest|strong="G3361" they should fall|strong="G1601" into|strong="G1519" the quicksands|strong="G4950", strake|strong="G5465" sail|strong="G4632", and so|strong="G3779" were driven|strong="G5342".
18 And|strong="G1161" we|strong="G2257" being exceedingly|strong="G4971" tossed with a tempest|strong="G5492", the next|strong="G1836" day they lightened|strong="G4160" the ship|strong="G1546";
19 And|strong="G2532" the third|strong="G5154" day we cast out|strong="G4496" with our own hands|strong="G0849" the tackling|strong="G4631" of the ship|strong="G4143".
20 And|strong="G1161" when neither|strong="G3383" sun|strong="G2246" nor|strong="G3383" stars|strong="G0798" in|strong="G1909" many|strong="G4119" days|strong="G2250" appeared|strong="G2014", and|strong="G5037" no|strong="G3756" small|strong="G3641" tempest|strong="G5494" lay on|strong="G1945" us, all|strong="G3956" hope|strong="G1680" that we|strong="G2248" should be saved|strong="G4982" was|strong="G4014" then|strong="G3063" taken away|strong="G4014".
21 But|strong="G1161" after|strong="G5119" long|strong="G4183" abstinence|strong="G0776" Paul|strong="G3972" stood forth|strong="G2476" in|strong="G1722" the midst|strong="G3319" of them|strong="G0846", and said|strong="G2036", Sirs|strong="G0435", ye should|strong="G1163" have hearkened|strong="G3980" unto me|strong="G3427", and|strong="G0321" not|strong="G3361" have loosed|strong="G0321" from|strong="G0575" Crete|strong="G2914", and|strong="G5037" to have gained|strong="G2770" this|strong="G3778" harm|strong="G5196" and|strong="G2532" loss|strong="G2209".
22 And|strong="G2532" now|strong="G3867" I exhort|strong="G5209" you|strong="G2114" to be of good cheer|strong="G0580": for|strong="G5590" there shall be|strong="G1537" no|strong="G2071" loss of|strong="G1063" any man’s life|strong="G3762" among|strong="G5216" you|strong="G4133", but|strong="G3588" of the ship|strong="G4143".
23 For|strong="G1063" there stood|strong="G3936" by me|strong="G3427" this|strong="G3778" night|strong="G3571" the angel|strong="G0032" of God|strong="G2316", whose|strong="G3739" I am|strong="G1510", and|strong="G2532" whom|strong="G3739" I serve|strong="G3000",
24 Saying|strong="G3004", Fear|strong="G5399" not|strong="G3361", Paul|strong="G3972"; thou|strong="G4571" must be|strong="G1163" brought before|strong="G3936" Cæsar|strong="G2541": and|strong="G2532", lo|strong="G2400", God|strong="G2316" hath given|strong="G5483" thee|strong="G4671" all|strong="G3956" them|strong="G3588" that sail|strong="G4126" with|strong="G3326" thee|strong="G4675".
25 Wherefore|strong="G1352", sirs|strong="G0435", be of good cheer|strong="G2114": for|strong="G1063" I believe|strong="G4100" God|strong="G2316", that|strong="G3754" it|strong="G3779" shall be|strong="G2071" even|strong="G2596" as|strong="G5158" it was told|strong="G2980" me|strong="G3427".
26 Howbeit|strong="G1161" we|strong="G2248" must|strong="G1163" be cast|strong="G1601" upon|strong="G1519" a certain|strong="G5100" island|strong="G3520".
27 But|strong="G1161" when|strong="G5613" the fourteenth|strong="G5065" night|strong="G3571" was come|strong="G1096", as we|strong="G2257" were driven up and down|strong="G1308" in|strong="G1722" Adria|strong="G0099", about|strong="G2596" midnight|strong="G3571" the shipmen|strong="G3492" deemed that|strong="G5282" they|strong="G0846" drew near to|strong="G4317" some|strong="G5100" country|strong="G5561";
28 And|strong="G2532" sounded|strong="G1001", and found|strong="G2147" it twenty|strong="G1501" fathoms|strong="G3712": and|strong="G1161" when they had gone|strong="G1339" a little further|strong="G1024", they sounded|strong="G1001" again|strong="G3825", and|strong="G2532" found|strong="G2147" it fifteen|strong="G1178" fathoms|strong="G3712".
29 Then|strong="G5037" fearing|strong="G5399" lest|strong="G3381" we should have fallen|strong="G1601" upon|strong="G1519" rocks|strong="G5138", they cast|strong="G4496" four|strong="G5064" anchors|strong="G0045" out of|strong="G1537" the stern|strong="G4403", and wished|strong="G2172" for|strong="G1096" the day|strong="G2250".
30 And|strong="G1161" as the shipmen|strong="G3492" were about|strong="G2212" to flee|strong="G5343" out of|strong="G1537" the ship|strong="G4143", when|strong="G2532" they had let down|strong="G5465" the boat|strong="G4627" into|strong="G1519" the sea|strong="G2281", under colour|strong="G4392" as though|strong="G5613" they would|strong="G3195" have cast|strong="G1614" anchors|strong="G0045" out of|strong="G1537" the foreship|strong="G4408",
31 Paul|strong="G3972" said|strong="G2036" to the centurion|strong="G1543" and|strong="G2532" to the soldiers|strong="G4757", Except|strong="G1437" these|strong="G3778" abide|strong="G3306" in|strong="G1722" the ship|strong="G4143", ye|strong="G5210" cannot|strong="G3756" be saved|strong="G4982".
32 Then|strong="G5119" the soldiers|strong="G4757" cut off|strong="G0609" the ropes|strong="G4979" of the boat|strong="G4627", and|strong="G2532" let|strong="G1439" her|strong="G0846" fall off|strong="G1601".

34 Wherefore|strong="G1352" I pray|strong="G3870" you|strong="G5209" to take|strong="G4355" some meat|strong="G5160": for|strong="G1063" this is|strong="G5124" for|strong="G4314" your|strong="G5212" health|strong="G4991": for|strong="G1063" there shall|strong="G5225" not|strong="G3762" an hair|strong="G2359" fall|strong="G4098" from|strong="G1537" the head|strong="G2776" of any of you|strong="G5216".
35 And when|strong="G1161" he had|strong="G2036" thus|strong="G5023" spoken|strong="G2036", he took|strong="G2983" bread|strong="G0740", and|strong="G2532" gave thanks|strong="G2168" to God|strong="G2316" in presence|strong="G1799" of them all|strong="G3956": and|strong="G2532" when he had broken|strong="G2806" it, he began|strong="G0756" to eat|strong="G2068".
36 Then|strong="G1161" were|strong="G1096" they all|strong="G3956" of good cheer|strong="G2115", and|strong="G2532" they|strong="G0846" also took|strong="G4355" some meat|strong="G5160".
37 And|strong="G1161" we were|strong="G1510" in all|strong="G3956" in|strong="G1722" the ship|strong="G4143" two hundred|strong="G1250" threescore and|strong="G1440" sixteen|strong="G1803" souls|strong="G5590".
38 And when|strong="G1161" they had eaten|strong="G2880" enough|strong="G5160", they lightened|strong="G2893" the ship|strong="G4143", and cast out|strong="G1544" the wheat|strong="G4621" into|strong="G1519" the sea|strong="G2281".
39 And|strong="G1161" when|strong="G3753" it was|strong="G1096" day|strong="G2250", they knew|strong="G1921" not|strong="G3756" the land|strong="G1093": but|strong="G1161" they discovered|strong="G2657" a certain|strong="G5100" creek|strong="G2859" with|strong="G2192" a shore|strong="G0123", into|strong="G1519" the which|strong="G3739" they were minded|strong="G1011", if|strong="G1487" it were possible|strong="G1410", to thrust|strong="G1856" in the ship|strong="G4143".
40 And|strong="G2532" when they had taken up|strong="G4014" the anchors|strong="G0045", they committed|strong="G1439" themselves unto|strong="G1519" the sea|strong="G2281", and|strong="G0260" loosed|strong="G0447" the rudder|strong="G4079" bands|strong="G2202", and|strong="G2532" hoised up|strong="G1869" the mainsail|strong="G0736" to the wind|strong="G4154", and made|strong="G2722" toward|strong="G1519" shore|strong="G0123".
41 And|strong="G1161" falling|strong="G4045" into|strong="G1519" a place|strong="G5117" where two seas met|strong="G1337", they ran|strong="G2027" the ship|strong="G3491" aground|strong="G2027"; and|strong="G2532" the forepart|strong="G4408" stuck fast|strong="G2043", and remained|strong="G3306" unmoveable|strong="G0761", but|strong="G1161" the hinder part|strong="G4403" was broken|strong="G3089" with|strong="G5259" the violence|strong="G0970" of the waves|strong="G2949".
42 And|strong="G1161" the soldiers’|strong="G4757" counsel|strong="G1012" was|strong="G1096" to|strong="G2443" kill|strong="G0615" the prisoners|strong="G1202", lest|strong="G3361" any|strong="G5100" of them should swim out|strong="G1579", and escape|strong="G1309".
43 But|strong="G1161" the centurion|strong="G1543", willing|strong="G1014" to save|strong="G1295" Paul|strong="G3972", kept|strong="G2967" them|strong="G0846" from|strong="G3588" their purpose|strong="G1013"; and|strong="G5037" commanded that|strong="G2753" they|strong="G3588" which could|strong="G1410" swim|strong="G2860" should cast|strong="G0641" themselves first|strong="G4413" into the sea, and get|strong="G1826" to|strong="G1909" land|strong="G1093":
44 And|strong="G2532" the rest|strong="G3062", some|strong="G3739" on|strong="G1909" boards|strong="G4548", and|strong="G1161" some|strong="G3739" on|strong="G1909" broken pieces of|strong="G0575" the ship|strong="G4143". And|strong="G2532" so|strong="G3779" it came to pass|strong="G1096", that they escaped|strong="G1295" all|strong="G3956" safe|strong="G1295" to|strong="G1909" land|strong="G1093".
