Atos 15

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

And|strong="G2532" certain men|strong="G5100" which came down|strong="G2718" from|strong="G0575" Judæa|strong="G2449" taught|strong="G1321" the brethren|strong="G0080", and said, Except|strong="G1437" ye be circumcised|strong="G4059" after the manner|strong="G1485" of Moses|strong="G3475", ye|strong="G1410" cannot|strong="G3756" be|strong="G1410" saved|strong="G4982".

When therefore|strong="G3767" Paul|strong="G3972" and|strong="G2532" Barnabas|strong="G0921" had|strong="G1096" no|strong="G3756" small|strong="G3641" dissension|strong="G4714" and|strong="G2532" disputation|strong="G4803" with|strong="G4314" them|strong="G0846", they determined that|strong="G5021" Paul|strong="G3972" and|strong="G2532" Barnabas|strong="G0921", and|strong="G2532" certain|strong="G5100" other|strong="G0243" of|strong="G1537" them|strong="G0846", should go up|strong="G0305" to|strong="G1519" Jerusalem|strong="G2419" unto|strong="G4314" the apostles|strong="G0652" and|strong="G2532" elders|strong="G4245" about|strong="G4012" this|strong="G5127" question|strong="G2213".

And|strong="G3767" being brought on their way|strong="G4311" by|strong="G5259" the church|strong="G1577", they passed through|strong="G1330" Phenice|strong="G5403" and|strong="G2532" Samaria|strong="G4540", declaring|strong="G1555" the conversion|strong="G1995" of the Gentiles|strong="G1484": and|strong="G2532" they caused|strong="G4160" great|strong="G3173" joy|strong="G5479" unto all|strong="G3956" the brethren|strong="G0080".

And|strong="G1161" when they were come|strong="G3854" to|strong="G1519" Jerusalem|strong="G2419", they were received|strong="G0588" of|strong="G5259" the church|strong="G1577", and|strong="G2532" of the apostles|strong="G0652" and|strong="G2532" elders|strong="G4245", and|strong="G5037" they declared|strong="G0312" all things that|strong="G3745" God|strong="G2316" had done|strong="G4160" with|strong="G3326" them|strong="G0846".

But|strong="G1161" there rose up|strong="G1817" certain|strong="G5100" of|strong="G0575" the sect|strong="G0139" of the Pharisees|strong="G5330" which believed|strong="G4100", saying|strong="G3004", That|strong="G3754" it was needful to|strong="G1163" circumcise|strong="G4059" them|strong="G0846", and|strong="G5037" to command|strong="G3853" them to keep|strong="G5083" the law|strong="G3551" of Moses|strong="G3475".

And|strong="G1161" the apostles|strong="G0652" and|strong="G2532" elders|strong="G4245" came together|strong="G4863" for to consider|strong="G1492" of|strong="G4012" this|strong="G5127" matter|strong="G3056".

And|strong="G1161" when there had been|strong="G1096" much|strong="G4183" disputing|strong="G4803", Peter|strong="G4074" rose up|strong="G0450", and said|strong="G2036" unto|strong="G4314" them|strong="G0846", Men|strong="G0435" and brethren|strong="G0080", ye|strong="G5210" know|strong="G1987" how that|strong="G3754" a good|strong="G0575" while|strong="G2250" ago|strong="G0744" God|strong="G2316" made choice|strong="G1586" among|strong="G1722" us|strong="G2254", that the Gentiles|strong="G1484" by|strong="G1223" my|strong="G3450" mouth|strong="G4750" should hear|strong="G0191" the word|strong="G3056" of the gospel|strong="G2098", and|strong="G2532" believe|strong="G4100".

And|strong="G2532" God|strong="G2316", which knoweth the hearts|strong="G2589", bare|strong="G3140" them|strong="G0846" witness|strong="G3140", giving|strong="G1325" them|strong="G0846" the Holy|strong="G0040" Ghost|strong="G4151", even|strong="G2532" as|strong="G2531" he did unto us|strong="G2254";

And|strong="G2532" put|strong="G1252" no|strong="G3762" difference|strong="G1252" between|strong="G3342" us|strong="G2257" and|strong="G2532" them|strong="G0846", purifying|strong="G2511" their|strong="G0846" hearts|strong="G2588" by faith|strong="G4102".

Now|strong="G3568" therefore|strong="G3767" why|strong="G5101" tempt ye|strong="G3985" God|strong="G2316", to put|strong="G2007" a yoke|strong="G2218" upon|strong="G1909" the neck|strong="G5137" of the disciples|strong="G3101", which|strong="G3739" neither|strong="G3777" our|strong="G2257" fathers|strong="G3962" nor|strong="G3777" we|strong="G2249" were able|strong="G2480" to bear|strong="G0941"?

But|strong="G0235" we believe|strong="G4100" that|strong="G3739" through|strong="G1223" the grace|strong="G5485" of the Lord|strong="G2962" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" we shall be saved|strong="G4982", even|strong="G5158" as|strong="G2596" they|strong="G2548".

Then|strong="G1161" all|strong="G3956" the multitude|strong="G4128" kept silence|strong="G4601", and|strong="G2532" gave audience|strong="G0191" to Barnabas|strong="G0921" and|strong="G2532" Paul|strong="G3972", declaring|strong="G1834" what|strong="G3745" miracles|strong="G4592" and|strong="G2532" wonders|strong="G5059" God|strong="G2316" had wrought|strong="G4160" among|strong="G1722" the Gentiles|strong="G1484" by|strong="G1223" them|strong="G0846".

And|strong="G1161" after|strong="G3326" they had held|strong="G4601" their|strong="G0846" peace|strong="G4601", James|strong="G2385" answered|strong="G0611", saying|strong="G3004", Men|strong="G0435" and brethren|strong="G0080", hearken|strong="G0191" unto me|strong="G3450":

Simeon|strong="G4826" hath declared|strong="G1834" how|strong="G2531" God|strong="G2316" at the first|strong="G4412" did visit|strong="G1980" the Gentiles|strong="G1484", to take|strong="G2983" out of them|strong="G1537" a people|strong="G2992" for|strong="G1909" his|strong="G0846" name|strong="G3686".

And|strong="G2532" to this|strong="G5129" agree|strong="G4856" the words|strong="G3056" of the prophets|strong="G4396"; as|strong="G2531" it is written|strong="G1125",

After|strong="G3326" this|strong="G5023" I will return|strong="G0390", and|strong="G2532" will build again|strong="G0456" the tabernacle|strong="G4633" of David|strong="G1138", which|strong="G3588" is fallen down|strong="G4098"; and|strong="G2532" I will build again|strong="G0456" the ruins|strong="G2679" thereof|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" I will set|strong="G0461" it|strong="G0846" up|strong="G0461":

That|strong="G3704" the residue|strong="G2645" of men|strong="G0444" might seek|strong="G1567" after the Lord|strong="G2962", and|strong="G2532" all|strong="G3956" the Gentiles|strong="G1484", upon|strong="G1909" whom|strong="G3739" my|strong="G3450" name|strong="G3686" is called|strong="G1941", saith|strong="G3004" the Lord|strong="G2962", who doeth|strong="G4160" all|strong="G3956" these things|strong="G5023".

Known|strong="G1110" unto God|strong="G2316" are|strong="G2076" all|strong="G3956" his|strong="G0846" works|strong="G2041" from|strong="G0575" the beginning of the world|strong="G0165".

Wherefore|strong="G1352" my|strong="G1473" sentence is|strong="G2919", that we trouble|strong="G3926" not|strong="G3361" them, which|strong="G3588" from among|strong="G0575" the Gentiles|strong="G1484" are turned|strong="G1994" to|strong="G1909" God|strong="G2316":

But|strong="G0235" that we write|strong="G1989" unto them|strong="G0846", that they abstain|strong="G0567" from|strong="G0575" pollutions|strong="G0234" of idols|strong="G1497", and|strong="G2532" from fornication|strong="G4202", and|strong="G2532" from things strangled|strong="G4156", and|strong="G2532" from blood|strong="G0129".

For|strong="G1063" Moses|strong="G3475" of|strong="G1537" old|strong="G0744" time|strong="G1074" hath|strong="G2192" in every|strong="G2596" city|strong="G4172" them|strong="G3588" that preach|strong="G2784" him|strong="G0846", being read|strong="G0314" in|strong="G1722" the synagogues|strong="G4864" every|strong="G3956" sabbath day|strong="G4521".

Then|strong="G5119" pleased it|strong="G1380" the apostles|strong="G0652" and|strong="G2532" elders|strong="G4245", with|strong="G4862" the whole|strong="G3650" church|strong="G1577", to send|strong="G3992" chosen|strong="G1586" men|strong="G0435" of|strong="G1537" their own company|strong="G0846" to|strong="G1519" Antioch|strong="G0490" with|strong="G4862" Paul|strong="G3972" and|strong="G2532" Barnabas|strong="G0921"; namely, Judas|strong="G2455" surnamed|strong="G1941" Barsabas|strong="G0923", and|strong="G2532" Silas|strong="G4609", chief|strong="G2233" men|strong="G0435" among|strong="G1722" the brethren|strong="G0080":

And they wrote|strong="G1125" letters by|strong="G1223" them|strong="G0846" after this manner|strong="G3592"; The apostles|strong="G0652" and|strong="G2532" elders|strong="G4245" and|strong="G2532" brethren|strong="G0080" send greeting|strong="G5463" unto the brethren|strong="G0080" which|strong="G3588" are of|strong="G1537" the Gentiles|strong="G1484" in|strong="G2596" Antioch|strong="G0490" and|strong="G2532" Syria|strong="G4947" and|strong="G2532" Cilicia|strong="G2791":

Forasmuch as|strong="G1894" we have heard|strong="G0191", that|strong="G3754" certain|strong="G5100" which went out|strong="G1831" from|strong="G1537" us|strong="G2257" have troubled|strong="G5015" you|strong="G5209" with words|strong="G3056", subverting|strong="G0384" your|strong="G5216" souls|strong="G5590", saying|strong="G3004", Ye must be circumcised|strong="G4059", and|strong="G2532" keep|strong="G5083" the law|strong="G3551": to whom|strong="G3739" we gave|strong="G1291" no|strong="G3756" such commandment|strong="G1291":

It seemed good|strong="G1380" unto us|strong="G2254", being assembled|strong="G1096" with one accord|strong="G3661", to send|strong="G3992" chosen|strong="G1586" men|strong="G0435" unto|strong="G4314" you|strong="G5209" with|strong="G4862" our|strong="G2257" beloved|strong="G0027" Barnabas|strong="G0921" and|strong="G2532" Paul|strong="G3972",

Men|strong="G0444" that have hazarded|strong="G3860" their|strong="G0846" lives|strong="G5590" for|strong="G5228" the name|strong="G3686" of our|strong="G2257" Lord|strong="G2962" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547".

We have sent|strong="G0649" therefore|strong="G3767" Judas|strong="G2455" and|strong="G2532" Silas|strong="G4609", who|strong="G0846" shall|strong="G0518" also|strong="G2532" tell|strong="G0518" you the same things|strong="G0846" by|strong="G1223" mouth|strong="G3056".

For|strong="G1063" it seemed good|strong="G1380" to the Holy|strong="G0040" Ghost|strong="G4151", and|strong="G2532" to us|strong="G2254", to lay upon|strong="G2007" you|strong="G5213" no|strong="G3367" greater|strong="G4119" burden|strong="G0922" than|strong="G4133" these|strong="G5130" necessary|strong="G1876" things|strong="G5130";

That ye abstain|strong="G0567" from meats offered to idols|strong="G1494", and|strong="G2532" from blood|strong="G0129", and|strong="G2532" from things strangled|strong="G4156", and|strong="G2532" from fornication|strong="G4202": from|strong="G1537" which|strong="G3739" if ye keep|strong="G1301" yourselves|strong="G1438", ye shall do|strong="G4238" well|strong="G2095". Fare ye well|strong="G4517".

So|strong="G3767" when|strong="G3303" they were dismissed|strong="G0630", they came|strong="G2064" to|strong="G1519" Antioch|strong="G0490": and|strong="G2532" when they had gathered|strong="G4863" the multitude|strong="G4128" together|strong="G4863", they delivered|strong="G1929" the epistle|strong="G1992":

Which when|strong="G1161" they had read|strong="G0314", they rejoiced|strong="G5463" for|strong="G1909" the consolation|strong="G3874".

And|strong="G5037" Judas|strong="G2455" and|strong="G2532" Silas|strong="G4609", being|strong="G5607" prophets|strong="G4396" also|strong="G2532" themselves|strong="G0846", exhorted|strong="G3870" the brethren|strong="G0080" with|strong="G1223" many|strong="G4183" words|strong="G3056", and|strong="G2532" confirmed|strong="G1991" them.

And|strong="G1161" after they had tarried|strong="G4160" there a space|strong="G5550", they were let go|strong="G0630" in|strong="G3326" peace|strong="G1515" from|strong="G0575" the brethren|strong="G0080" unto|strong="G4314" the apostles|strong="G0652".

Notwithstanding|strong="G1161" it pleased|strong="G1380" Silas|strong="G4609" to abide|strong="G1961" there|strong="G0847" still|strong="G1961".

Paul|strong="G3972" also|strong="G1161" and|strong="G2532" Barnabas|strong="G0921" continued|strong="G1304" in|strong="G1722" Antioch|strong="G0490", teaching|strong="G1321" and|strong="G2532" preaching|strong="G2097" the word|strong="G3056" of the Lord|strong="G2962", with|strong="G3326" many|strong="G4183" others|strong="G2087" also|strong="G2532".

And|strong="G1161" some|strong="G5100" days|strong="G2250" after|strong="G3326" Paul|strong="G3972" said|strong="G2036" unto|strong="G4314" Barnabas|strong="G0921", Let us go again|strong="G1994" and|strong="G1211" visit|strong="G1980" our|strong="G2257" brethren|strong="G0080" in|strong="G2596" every|strong="G3956" city|strong="G4172" where|strong="G3739" we have preached|strong="G2605" the word|strong="G3056" of the Lord|strong="G2962", and see how|strong="G4459" they do|strong="G2192".

And|strong="G1161" Barnabas|strong="G0921" determined|strong="G1011" to take with them|strong="G4838" John|strong="G2491", whose surname was|strong="G2564" Mark|strong="G3138".

But|strong="G1161" Paul|strong="G3972" thought|strong="G0515" not|strong="G3361" good|strong="G0515" to take him|strong="G4838" with them|strong="G5126", who|strong="G3588" departed|strong="G0868" from|strong="G0575" them|strong="G0846" from|strong="G0575" Pamphylia|strong="G3828", and|strong="G2532" went|strong="G4905" not|strong="G3361" with them|strong="G0846" to|strong="G1519" the work|strong="G2041".

And|strong="G3767" the contention|strong="G3948" was|strong="G1096" so sharp between them|strong="G3948", that|strong="G5620" they departed asunder|strong="G0673" one|strong="G0846" from|strong="G0575" the other|strong="G0240": and so|strong="G5037" Barnabas|strong="G0921" took|strong="G3880" Mark|strong="G3138", and sailed|strong="G1602" unto|strong="G1519" Cyprus|strong="G2954";

And|strong="G1161" Paul|strong="G3972" chose|strong="G1951" Silas|strong="G4609", and departed|strong="G1831", being recommended|strong="G3860" by|strong="G5259" the brethren|strong="G0080" unto the grace|strong="G5485" of God|strong="G2316".

And|strong="G1161" he went through|strong="G1330" Syria|strong="G4947" and|strong="G2532" Cilicia|strong="G2791", confirming|strong="G1991" the churches|strong="G1577".
