Then spake|strong="H1696" Elisha|strong="H0477" unto the woman|strong="H0802", whose son|strong="H1121" he had restored to life|strong="H2421", saying|strong="H0559", Arise|strong="H6965", and go|strong="H3212" thou and thine household|strong="H1004", and sojourn|strong="H1481" wheresoever|strong="H0834" thou canst sojourn|strong="H1481": for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath called|strong="H7121" for a famine|strong="H7458"; and it shall also come|strong="H0935" upon the land|strong="H0776" seven|strong="H7651" years|strong="H8141".
And the woman|strong="H0802" arose|strong="H6965", and did|strong="H6213" after the saying|strong="H1697" of the man|strong="H0376" of God|strong="H0430": and she went|strong="H3212" with her household|strong="H1004", and sojourned|strong="H1481" in the land|strong="H0776" of the Philistines|strong="H6430" seven|strong="H7651" years|strong="H8141".
And it came to pass at the seven|strong="H7651" years’|strong="H8141" end|strong="H7097", that the woman|strong="H0802" returned|strong="H7725" out of the land|strong="H0776" of the Philistines|strong="H6430": and she went forth|strong="H3318" to cry|strong="H6817" unto the king|strong="H4428" for her house|strong="H1004" and for her land|strong="H7704".
And the king|strong="H4428" talked|strong="H1696" with Gehazi|strong="H1522" the servant|strong="H5288" of the man|strong="H0376" of God|strong="H0430", saying|strong="H0559", Tell|strong="H5608" me, I pray thee, all the great things|strong="H1419" that Elisha|strong="H0477" hath done|strong="H6213".
And it came to pass, as he was telling|strong="H5608" the king|strong="H4428" how he had restored|strong="H2421" a dead body|strong="H4191" to life|strong="H2421", that, behold, the woman|strong="H0802", whose son|strong="H1121" he had restored to life|strong="H2421", cried|strong="H6817" to the king|strong="H4428" for her house|strong="H1004" and for her land|strong="H7704". And Gehazi|strong="H1522" said|strong="H0559", My lord|strong="H0113", O king|strong="H4428", this is the woman|strong="H0802", and this is her son|strong="H1121", whom Elisha|strong="H0477" restored to life|strong="H2421".
And when the king|strong="H4428" asked|strong="H7592" the woman|strong="H0802", she told|strong="H5608" him. So the king|strong="H4428" appointed|strong="H5414" unto her a certain|strong="H0259" officer|strong="H5631", saying|strong="H0559", Restore|strong="H7725" all that was hers, and all the fruits|strong="H8393" of the field|strong="H7704" since the day|strong="H3117" that she left|strong="H5800" the land|strong="H0776", even until now.
And Elisha|strong="H0477" came|strong="H0935" to Damascus|strong="H1834"; and Ben-hadad|strong="H1130" the king|strong="H4428" of Syria|strong="H0758" was sick|strong="H2470"; and it was told|strong="H5046" him, saying|strong="H0559", The man|strong="H0376" of God|strong="H0430" is come|strong="H0935" hither|strong="H2008".
And the king|strong="H4428" said|strong="H0559" unto Hazael|strong="H2371", Take|strong="H3947" a present|strong="H4503" in thine hand|strong="H3027", and go|strong="H3212", meet|strong="H7125" the man|strong="H0376" of God|strong="H0430", and enquire|strong="H1875" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* by him, saying|strong="H0559", Shall I recover|strong="H2421" of this disease|strong="H2483"?
So Hazael|strong="H2371" went|strong="H3212" to meet|strong="H7125" him, and took|strong="H3947" a present|strong="H4503" with him|strong="H3027", even of every good thing|strong="H2898" of Damascus|strong="H1834", forty|strong="H0705" camels’|strong="H1581" burden|strong="H4853", and came|strong="H0935" and stood|strong="H5975" before|strong="H6440" him, and said|strong="H0559", Thy son|strong="H1121" Ben-hadad|strong="H1130" king|strong="H4428" of Syria|strong="H0758" hath sent|strong="H7971" me to thee, saying|strong="H0559", Shall I recover|strong="H2421" of this disease|strong="H2483"?
And Elisha|strong="H0477" said|strong="H0559" unto him, Go|strong="H3212", say|strong="H0559" unto him, Thou mayest certainly|strong="H2421" recover|strong="H2421": howbeit the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath shewed|strong="H7200" me that he shall surely|strong="H4191" die|strong="H4191".
And he settled|strong="H5975" his countenance|strong="H6440" stedfastly|strong="H7760", until he was ashamed|strong="H0954": and the man|strong="H0376" of God|strong="H0430" wept|strong="H1058".
And Hazael|strong="H2371" said|strong="H0559", Why weepeth|strong="H1058" my lord|strong="H0113"? And he answered|strong="H0559", Because I know|strong="H3045" the evil|strong="H7451" that thou wilt do|strong="H6213" unto the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478": their strong holds|strong="H4013" wilt thou set|strong="H7971" on fire|strong="H0784", and their young men|strong="H0970" wilt thou slay|strong="H2026" with the sword|strong="H2719", and wilt dash|strong="H7376" their children|strong="H5768", and rip up|strong="H1234" their women with child|strong="H2030".
And Hazael|strong="H2371" said|strong="H0559", But what, is thy servant|strong="H5650" a dog|strong="H3611", that he should do|strong="H6213" this great|strong="H1419" thing|strong="H1697"? And Elisha|strong="H0477" answered|strong="H0559", The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath shewed|strong="H7200" me that thou shalt be king|strong="H4428" over Syria|strong="H0758".
So he departed|strong="H3212" from Elisha|strong="H0477", and came|strong="H0935" to his master|strong="H0113"; who said|strong="H0559" to him, What said|strong="H0559" Elisha|strong="H0477" to thee? And he answered|strong="H0559", He told|strong="H0559" me that thou shouldest surely|strong="H2421" recover|strong="H2421".
And it came to pass on the morrow|strong="H4283", that he took|strong="H3947" a thick cloth|strong="H4346", and dipped|strong="H2881" it in water|strong="H4325", and spread|strong="H6566" it on his face|strong="H6440", so that he died|strong="H4191": and Hazael|strong="H2371" reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.
And in the fifth|strong="H2568" year|strong="H8141" of Joram|strong="H3141" the son|strong="H1121" of Ahab|strong="H0256" king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478", Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" being then king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", Jehoram|strong="H3088" the son|strong="H1121" of Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" began to reign|strong="H4427".
Thirty|strong="H7970" and two|strong="H8147" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121" was he when he began to reign|strong="H4427"; and he reigned|strong="H4427" eight|strong="H8083" years|strong="H8141" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389".
And he walked|strong="H3212" in the way|strong="H1870" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478", as did|strong="H6213" the house|strong="H1004" of Ahab|strong="H0256": for the daughter|strong="H1323" of Ahab|strong="H0256" was his wife|strong="H0802": and he did|strong="H6213" evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
Yet the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* would|strong="H0014" not destroy|strong="H7843" Judah|strong="H3063" for David|strong="H1732" his servant’s|strong="H5650" sake, as he promised|strong="H0559" him to give|strong="H5414" him alway|strong="H3117" a light|strong="H5216", and to his children|strong="H1121".
In his days|strong="H3117" Edom|strong="H0123" revolted|strong="H6586" from under the hand|strong="H3027" of Judah|strong="H3063", and made|strong="H4427" a king|strong="H4428" over themselves.
So Joram|strong="H3141" went over|strong="H5674" to Zair|strong="H6811", and all the chariots|strong="H7393" with him: and he rose|strong="H6965" by night|strong="H3915", and smote|strong="H5221" the Edomites|strong="H0123" which compassed him about|strong="H5437", and the captains|strong="H8269" of the chariots|strong="H7393": and the people|strong="H5971" fled|strong="H5127" into their tents|strong="H0168".
Yet Edom|strong="H0123" revolted|strong="H6586" from under the hand|strong="H3027" of Judah|strong="H3063" unto this day|strong="H3117". Then Libnah|strong="H3841" revolted|strong="H6586" at the same|strong="H1931" time|strong="H6256".
And the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Joram|strong="H3141", and all that he did|strong="H6213", are they not written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063"?
And Joram|strong="H3141" slept|strong="H7901" with his fathers|strong="H0001", and was buried|strong="H6912" with his fathers|strong="H0001" in the city|strong="H5892" of David|strong="H1732": and Ahaziah|strong="H0274" his son|strong="H1121" reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.
In the twelfth|strong="H8147" year|strong="H8141" of Joram|strong="H3141" the son|strong="H1121" of Ahab|strong="H0256" king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" did Ahaziah|strong="H0274" the son|strong="H1121" of Jehoram|strong="H3088" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" begin to reign|strong="H4427".
Two|strong="H8147" and twenty|strong="H6242" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121" was Ahaziah|strong="H0274" when he began to reign|strong="H4427"; and he reigned|strong="H4427" one|strong="H0259" year|strong="H8141" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389". And his mother’s|strong="H0517" name|strong="H8034" was Athaliah|strong="H6271", the daughter|strong="H1323" of Omri|strong="H6018" king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478".
And he walked|strong="H3212" in the way|strong="H1870" of the house|strong="H1004" of Ahab|strong="H0256", and did|strong="H6213" evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, as did the house|strong="H1004" of Ahab|strong="H0256": for he was the son in law|strong="H2860" of the house|strong="H1004" of Ahab|strong="H0256".
And he went|strong="H3212" with Joram|strong="H3141" the son|strong="H1121" of Ahab|strong="H0256" to the war|strong="H4421" against Hazael|strong="H2371" king|strong="H4428" of Syria|strong="H0758" in Ramoth-gilead|strong="H7433"; and the Syrians|strong="H0761" wounded|strong="H5221" Joram|strong="H3141".
And king|strong="H4428" Joram|strong="H3141" went back|strong="H7725" to be healed|strong="H7495" in Jezreel|strong="H3157" of the wounds|strong="H4347" which the Syrians|strong="H0761" had given|strong="H5221" him at Ramah|strong="H7414", when he fought|strong="H3898" against Hazael|strong="H2371" king|strong="H4428" of Syria|strong="H0758". And Ahaziah|strong="H0274" the son|strong="H1121" of Jehoram|strong="H3088" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" went down|strong="H3381" to see|strong="H7200" Joram|strong="H3141" the son|strong="H1121" of Ahab|strong="H0256" in Jezreel|strong="H3157", because he was sick|strong="H2470".
