And the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389" made|strong="H4427" Ahaziah|strong="H0274" his youngest|strong="H6996" son|strong="H1121" king|strong="H4427" in his stead: for the band of men|strong="H1416" that came|strong="H0935" with the Arabians|strong="H6163" to the camp|strong="H4264" had slain|strong="H2026" all the eldest|strong="H7223". So Ahaziah|strong="H0274" the son|strong="H1121" of Jehoram|strong="H3088" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" reigned|strong="H4427".
Forty|strong="H0705" and two|strong="H8147" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121" was Ahaziah|strong="H0274" when he began to reign|strong="H4427", and he reigned|strong="H4427" one|strong="H0259" year|strong="H8141" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389". His mother’s|strong="H0517" name|strong="H8034" also was Athaliah|strong="H6271" the daughter|strong="H1323" of Omri|strong="H6018".
He also walked|strong="H1980" in the ways|strong="H1870" of the house|strong="H1004" of Ahab|strong="H0256": for his mother|strong="H0517" was his counsellor|strong="H3289" to do wickedly|strong="H7561".
Wherefore he did|strong="H6213" evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* like the house|strong="H1004" of Ahab|strong="H0256": for they were his counsellors|strong="H3289" after|strong="H0310" the death|strong="H4194" of his father|strong="H0001" to his destruction|strong="H4889".
He walked|strong="H1980" also after their counsel|strong="H6098", and went|strong="H3212" with Jehoram|strong="H3088" the son|strong="H1121" of Ahab|strong="H0256" king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" to war|strong="H4421" against Hazael|strong="H2371" king|strong="H4428" of Syria|strong="H0758" at Ramoth-gilead|strong="H7433": and the Syrians|strong="H7421" smote|strong="H5221" Joram|strong="H3141".
And he returned|strong="H7725" to be healed|strong="H7495" in Jezreel|strong="H3157" because of the wounds|strong="H4347" which were given|strong="H5221" him at Ramah|strong="H7414", when he fought|strong="H3898" with Hazael|strong="H2371" king|strong="H4428" of Syria|strong="H0758". And Azariah|strong="H5838" the son|strong="H1121" of Jehoram|strong="H3088" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" went down|strong="H3381" to see|strong="H7200" Jehoram|strong="H3088" the son|strong="H1121" of Ahab|strong="H0256" at Jezreel|strong="H3157", because he was sick|strong="H2470".
And the destruction|strong="H8395" of Ahaziah|strong="H0274" was of God|strong="H0430" by coming|strong="H0935" to Joram|strong="H3141": for when he was come|strong="H0935", he went out|strong="H3318" with Jehoram|strong="H3088" against Jehu|strong="H3058" the son|strong="H1121" of Nimshi|strong="H5250", whom the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* had anointed|strong="H4886" to cut off|strong="H3772" the house|strong="H1004" of Ahab|strong="H0256".
And it came to pass, that, when Jehu|strong="H3058" was executing judgment|strong="H8199" upon the house|strong="H1004" of Ahab|strong="H0256", and found|strong="H4672" the princes|strong="H8269" of Judah|strong="H3063", and the sons|strong="H1121" of the brethren|strong="H0251" of Ahaziah|strong="H0274", that ministered|strong="H8334" to Ahaziah|strong="H0274", he slew|strong="H2026" them.
And he sought|strong="H1245" Ahaziah|strong="H0274": and they caught|strong="H3920" him, (for he was hid|strong="H2244" in Samaria|strong="H8111",) and brought|strong="H0935" him to Jehu|strong="H3058": and when they had slain|strong="H4191" him, they buried|strong="H6912" him: Because, said|strong="H0559" they, he is the son|strong="H1121" of Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092", who sought|strong="H1875" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* with all his heart|strong="H3824". So the house|strong="H1004" of Ahaziah|strong="H0274" had no power|strong="H3581" to keep|strong="H6113" still the kingdom|strong="H4467".
But when Athaliah|strong="H6271" the mother|strong="H0517" of Ahaziah|strong="H0274" saw|strong="H7200" that her son|strong="H1121" was dead|strong="H4191", she arose|strong="H6965" and destroyed|strong="H1696" all the seed|strong="H2233" royal|strong="H4467" of the house|strong="H1004" of Judah|strong="H3063".
But Jehoshabeath|strong="H3090", the daughter|strong="H1323" of the king|strong="H4428", took|strong="H3947" Joash|strong="H3101" the son|strong="H1121" of Ahaziah|strong="H0274", and stole|strong="H1589" him from among|strong="H8432" the king’s|strong="H4428" sons|strong="H1121" that were slain|strong="H4191", and put|strong="H5414" him and his nurse|strong="H3243" in a bedchamber|strong="H2315". So Jehoshabeath|strong="H3090", the daughter|strong="H1323" of king|strong="H4428" Jehoram|strong="H3088", the wife|strong="H0802" of Jehoiada|strong="H3077" the priest|strong="H3548", (for she was the sister|strong="H0269" of Ahaziah|strong="H0274",) hid|strong="H5641" him from|strong="H6440" Athaliah|strong="H6271", so that she slew|strong="H4191" him not.
And he was with them hid|strong="H2244" in the house|strong="H1004" of God|strong="H0430" six|strong="H8337" years|strong="H8141": and Athaliah|strong="H6271" reigned|strong="H4427" over the land|strong="H0776".
