1 For|strong="G1063" we know|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" if|strong="G1437" our|strong="G2257" earthly|strong="G1919" house|strong="G3614" of|strong="G1537" this tabernacle|strong="G4636" were dissolved|strong="G2647", we have|strong="G2192" a building|strong="G3619" of God|strong="G2316", an house|strong="G3614" not made with hands|strong="G0886", eternal|strong="G0166" in|strong="G1722" the heavens|strong="G3772".
2 For|strong="G1063" in|strong="G1722" this|strong="G5129" we groan|strong="G4727", earnestly desiring|strong="G1971" to be clothed upon|strong="G1902" with our|strong="G2257" house|strong="G3613" which is from|strong="G1537" heaven|strong="G3772":
3 If|strong="G1489" so be that|strong="G2532" being clothed|strong="G1746" we shall|strong="G2147" not|strong="G3756" be found|strong="G2147" naked|strong="G1131".
4 For|strong="G1063" we that are|strong="G5607" in|strong="G1722" this tabernacle|strong="G4636" do groan|strong="G4727", being burdened|strong="G0916": not|strong="G2309" for|strong="G1894" that|strong="G3756" we would|strong="G1562" be unclothed|strong="G0235", but|strong="G1902" clothed|strong="G2443" upon, that|strong="G2666" mortality|strong="G5259" might be swallowed up|strong="G2222" of life|strong="G2222".
5 Now|strong="G1161" he that|strong="G3588" hath wrought|strong="G2716" us|strong="G2248" for|strong="G1519" the selfsame|strong="G0846" thing|strong="G5124" is God|strong="G2316", who|strong="G3588" also|strong="G2532" hath given|strong="G1325" unto us|strong="G2254" the earnest|strong="G0728" of the Spirit|strong="G4151".
6 Therefore|strong="G3767" we are always|strong="G3842" confident|strong="G2292", knowing|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754", whilst|strong="G2532" we are at home|strong="G1736" in|strong="G1722" the body|strong="G4983", we are absent|strong="G1553" from|strong="G0575" the Lord|strong="G2962":
7 (For|strong="G1063" we walk|strong="G4043" by|strong="G1223" faith|strong="G4102", not|strong="G3756" by|strong="G1223" sight|strong="G1491":)
8 We are confident|strong="G2292", I say, and|strong="G2532" willing|strong="G2106" rather|strong="G3123" to be absent|strong="G1553" from|strong="G1537" the body|strong="G4983", and|strong="G2532" to be present|strong="G1736" with|strong="G4314" the Lord|strong="G2962".
9 Wherefore|strong="G1352" we labour|strong="G5389", that|strong="G2532", whether|strong="G1535" present|strong="G1736" or|strong="G1535" absent|strong="G1553", we may be|strong="G1511" accepted|strong="G2101" of him|strong="G0846".
10 For|strong="G1063" we|strong="G2248" must|strong="G1163" all|strong="G3956" appear|strong="G5319" before|strong="G1715" the judgment seat|strong="G0968" of Christ|strong="G5547"; that|strong="G2443" every one|strong="G1538" may receive|strong="G2865" the things|strong="G3588" done in|strong="G1223" his body|strong="G4983", according|strong="G4314" to that|strong="G3739" he hath done|strong="G4238", whether|strong="G1535" it be good|strong="G0018" or|strong="G1535" bad|strong="G2556".
11 Knowing|strong="G1492" therefore|strong="G3767" the terror|strong="G5401" of the Lord|strong="G2962", we persuade|strong="G3982" men|strong="G0444"; but|strong="G1161" we are made manifest|strong="G5319" unto God|strong="G2316"; and|strong="G1161" I trust|strong="G1679" also|strong="G2532" are made manifest|strong="G5319" in|strong="G1722" your|strong="G5216" consciences|strong="G4893".
12 For|strong="G1063" we commend|strong="G4921" not|strong="G3756" ourselves|strong="G1438" again|strong="G3825" unto you|strong="G5213", but|strong="G0235" give|strong="G1325" you|strong="G5213" occasion|strong="G0874" to glory|strong="G2745" on our|strong="G2257" behalf|strong="G5228", that|strong="G2443" ye may have|strong="G2192" somewhat to|strong="G4314" answer them|strong="G3588" which glory|strong="G2744" in|strong="G1722" appearance|strong="G4383", and|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3756" in heart|strong="G2588".
13 For|strong="G1063" whether|strong="G1535" we be beside ourselves|strong="G1839", it is to God|strong="G2316": or whether|strong="G1535" we be sober|strong="G4993", it is for your cause|strong="G5213".
14 For|strong="G1063" the love|strong="G0026" of Christ|strong="G5547" constraineth|strong="G4912" us|strong="G2248"; because|strong="G5124" we thus judge|strong="G2919", that|strong="G3754" if|strong="G1487" one|strong="G1520" died|strong="G0599" for|strong="G5228" all|strong="G3956", then|strong="G0686" were|strong="G0599" all|strong="G3956" dead|strong="G0599":
15 And|strong="G2532" that he died|strong="G0599" for|strong="G5228" all|strong="G3956", that|strong="G2443" they|strong="G3588" which live|strong="G2198" should|strong="G2198" not henceforth|strong="G3371" live|strong="G2198" unto themselves|strong="G1438", but|strong="G0235" unto him|strong="G3588" which died|strong="G0599" for|strong="G5228" them|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" rose again|strong="G1453".
16 Wherefore|strong="G5620" henceforth|strong="G3568" know|strong="G1492" we|strong="G2249" no man|strong="G3762" after|strong="G2596" the flesh|strong="G4561": yea|strong="G1161", though|strong="G1487" we have known|strong="G1097" Christ|strong="G5547" after|strong="G2596" the flesh|strong="G4561", yet|strong="G0235" now henceforth|strong="G3568" know we|strong="G1097" him no more|strong="G3765".
17 Therefore|strong="G5620" if|strong="G1487" any man|strong="G5100" be in|strong="G1722" Christ|strong="G5547", he is a new|strong="G2537" creature|strong="G2937": old things|strong="G0744" are passed away|strong="G3928"; behold|strong="G2400", all things|strong="G3956" are become|strong="G1096" new|strong="G2537".
18 And|strong="G1161" all things|strong="G3956" are of|strong="G1537" God|strong="G2316", who|strong="G3588" hath reconciled|strong="G2644" us|strong="G2248" to himself|strong="G1438" by|strong="G1223" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547", and|strong="G2532" hath given|strong="G1325" to us|strong="G2254" the ministry|strong="G1248" of reconciliation|strong="G2643";
19 To wit|strong="G5613", that|strong="G3754" God|strong="G2316" was|strong="G2258" in|strong="G1722" Christ, reconciling|strong="G2644" the world|strong="G2889" unto himself|strong="G1438", not|strong="G3361" imputing|strong="G3049" their|strong="G0846" trespasses|strong="G3900" unto them|strong="G0846"; and|strong="G2532" hath committed|strong="G5087" unto|strong="G1722" us|strong="G2254" the word|strong="G3056" of reconciliation|strong="G2643".
20 Now then|strong="G3767" we are ambassadors|strong="G4243" for|strong="G5228" Christ|strong="G5547", as though|strong="G5613" God|strong="G2316" did beseech|strong="G3870" you by|strong="G1223" us|strong="G2257": we pray|strong="G1189" you in|strong="G5228" Christ’s stead|strong="G5547", be ye reconciled|strong="G2644" to God|strong="G2316".
21 For|strong="G1063" he hath made him|strong="G4160" to be sin|strong="G0266" for|strong="G5228" us|strong="G2257", who knew|strong="G1097" no|strong="G3361" sin|strong="G0266"; that|strong="G2443" we|strong="G2249" might be made|strong="G1096" the righteousness|strong="G1343" of God|strong="G2316" in|strong="G1722" him|strong="G0846".
