7 Do ye look|strong="G0991" on things|strong="G3588" after|strong="G2596" the outward appearance|strong="G4383"? If|strong="G1487" any man|strong="G5100" trust|strong="G3982" to himself|strong="G1438" that he is|strong="G1511" Christ’s|strong="G5547", let him|strong="G3049" of|strong="G0575" himself|strong="G1438" think|strong="G3049" this|strong="G5124" again|strong="G3825", that|strong="G3754", as|strong="G2531" he|strong="G0846" is Christ’s|strong="G5547", even|strong="G2532" so|strong="G3779" are we|strong="G2249" Christ’s|strong="G5547".
8 For|strong="G1063" though|strong="G1437" I should boast|strong="G2744" somewhat|strong="G5100" more|strong="G4053" of|strong="G4012" our|strong="G2257" authority|strong="G1849", which|strong="G3739" the Lord|strong="G2962" hath given|strong="G1325" us|strong="G2254" for|strong="G1519" edification|strong="G3619", and|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3756" for|strong="G1519" your|strong="G5216" destruction|strong="G2506", I should|strong="G0153" not|strong="G3756" be ashamed|strong="G0153":
9 That|strong="G2443" I may|strong="G1380" not|strong="G3361" seem|strong="G1380" as|strong="G5613" if|strong="G0302" I would terrify|strong="G1629" you|strong="G5209" by|strong="G1223" letters|strong="G1992".
10 For|strong="G3754" his letters|strong="G1992", say they|strong="G5346", are weighty|strong="G0926" and|strong="G2532" powerful|strong="G2478"; but|strong="G1161" his bodily|strong="G4983" presence|strong="G3952" is weak|strong="G0772", and|strong="G2532" his speech|strong="G3056" contemptible|strong="G1848".
11 Let|strong="G3049" such an one|strong="G5108" think|strong="G3049" this|strong="G5124", that|strong="G3754", such as|strong="G3634" we are|strong="G2070" in word|strong="G3056" by|strong="G1223" letters|strong="G1992" when we are absent|strong="G0548", such|strong="G5108" will we be also|strong="G2532" in deed|strong="G2041" when we are present|strong="G3918".
12 For|strong="G1063" we dare|strong="G5111" not|strong="G3756" make ourselves of the number|strong="G1469", or|strong="G2228" compare|strong="G4793" ourselves|strong="G1438" with some|strong="G5100" that commend|strong="G4921" themselves|strong="G1438": but|strong="G0235" they|strong="G0846" measuring|strong="G3354" themselves|strong="G1438" by|strong="G1722" themselves|strong="G1438", and|strong="G2532" comparing|strong="G4793" themselves|strong="G1438" among themselves|strong="G1438", are|strong="G4920" not|strong="G3756" wise|strong="G4920".
13 But|strong="G1161" we|strong="G2249" will|strong="G2744" not|strong="G3780" boast|strong="G2744" of|strong="G1519" things|strong="G3588" without|strong="G0280" our measure|strong="G0280", but|strong="G0235" according to|strong="G2596" the measure|strong="G3358" of the rule|strong="G2583" which|strong="G3739" God|strong="G2316" hath distributed|strong="G3307" to us|strong="G2254", a measure|strong="G3358" to reach|strong="G2185" even|strong="G2532" unto|strong="G0891" you|strong="G5216".
14 For|strong="G1063" we stretch|strong="G5239" not|strong="G3756" ourselves|strong="G1438" beyond|strong="G5239" our measure, as though|strong="G5613" we reached|strong="G2185" not|strong="G3361" unto|strong="G1519" you|strong="G5209": for|strong="G1063" we are come|strong="G5348" as far as|strong="G0891" to you|strong="G5216" also|strong="G2532" in|strong="G1722" preaching the gospel|strong="G2098" of Christ|strong="G5547":
15 Not|strong="G3756" boasting|strong="G2744" of|strong="G1519" things|strong="G3588" without|strong="G0280" our measure|strong="G0280", that is, of|strong="G1722" other men’s|strong="G0245" labours|strong="G2873"; but|strong="G1161" having|strong="G2192" hope|strong="G1680", when your|strong="G5216" faith|strong="G4102" is increased|strong="G0837", that we shall be enlarged|strong="G3170" by|strong="G1722" you|strong="G5213" according|strong="G2596" to|strong="G1519" our|strong="G2257" rule|strong="G2583" abundantly|strong="G4050",
16 To preach the gospel|strong="G2097" in|strong="G1519" the|strong="G5238" regions beyond|strong="G5238" you|strong="G5216", and not|strong="G3756" to boast|strong="G2744" in|strong="G1722" another man’s|strong="G0245" line of things|strong="G2583" made ready|strong="G2092" to|strong="G1519" our hand|strong="G2092".
17 But|strong="G1161" he|strong="G3588" that glorieth|strong="G2744", let him glory|strong="G2744" in|strong="G1722" the Lord|strong="G2962".
18 For|strong="G1063" not|strong="G3756" he that|strong="G1565" commendeth|strong="G4921" himself|strong="G1438" is|strong="G2076" approved|strong="G1384", but|strong="G0235" whom|strong="G3739" the Lord|strong="G2962" commendeth|strong="G4921".
