Reis 16

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

Then the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came to Jehu|strong="H3058" the son|strong="H1121" of Hanani|strong="H2607" against Baasha|strong="H1201", saying|strong="H0559",

Forasmuch as I exalted|strong="H7311" thee out of the dust|strong="H6083", and made|strong="H5414" thee prince|strong="H5057" over my people|strong="H5971" Israel|strong="H3478"; and thou hast walked|strong="H3212" in the way|strong="H1870" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379", and hast made my people|strong="H5971" Israel|strong="H3478" to sin|strong="H2398", to provoke me to anger|strong="H3707" with their sins|strong="H2403";

Behold, I will take away|strong="H1197" the posterity|strong="H0310" of Baasha|strong="H1201", and the posterity|strong="H0310" of his house|strong="H1004"; and will make|strong="H5414" thy house|strong="H1004" like the house|strong="H1004" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379" the son|strong="H1121" of Nebat|strong="H5028".

Him that dieth|strong="H4191" of Baasha|strong="H1201" in the city|strong="H5892" shall the dogs|strong="H3611" eat|strong="H0398"; and him that dieth|strong="H4191" of his in the fields|strong="H7704" shall the fowls|strong="H5775" of the air|strong="H8064" eat|strong="H0398".

Now the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Baasha|strong="H1201", and what he did|strong="H6213", and his might|strong="H1369", are they not written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478"?

So Baasha|strong="H1201" slept|strong="H7901" with his fathers|strong="H0001", and was buried|strong="H6912" in Tirzah|strong="H8656": and Elah|strong="H0425" his son|strong="H1121" reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.

And also by the hand|strong="H3027" of the prophet|strong="H5030" Jehu|strong="H3058" the son|strong="H1121" of Hanani|strong="H2607" came the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* against Baasha|strong="H1201", and against his house|strong="H1004", even for all the evil|strong="H7451" that he did|strong="H6213" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, in provoking him to anger|strong="H3707" with the work|strong="H4639" of his hands|strong="H3027", in being like the house|strong="H1004" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379"; and because he killed|strong="H5221" him.

In the twenty|strong="H6242" and sixth|strong="H8337" year|strong="H8141" of Asa|strong="H0609" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" began Elah|strong="H0425" the son|strong="H1121" of Baasha|strong="H1201" to reign|strong="H4427" over Israel|strong="H3478" in Tirzah|strong="H8656", two years|strong="H8141".

And his servant|strong="H5650" Zimri|strong="H2174", captain|strong="H8269" of half|strong="H4276" his chariots|strong="H7393", conspired|strong="H7194" against him, as he was in Tirzah|strong="H8656", drinking|strong="H8354" himself drunk|strong="H7910" in the house|strong="H1004" of Arza|strong="H0777" steward of his house|strong="H1004" in Tirzah|strong="H8656".

And Zimri|strong="H2174" went in|strong="H0935" and smote|strong="H5221" him, and killed|strong="H4191" him, in the twenty|strong="H6242" and seventh|strong="H7651" year|strong="H8141" of Asa|strong="H0609" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", and reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.

And it came to pass, when he began to reign|strong="H4427", as soon as he sat|strong="H3427" on his throne|strong="H3678", that he slew|strong="H5221" all the house|strong="H1004" of Baasha|strong="H1201": he left|strong="H7604" him not one that pisseth|strong="H8366" against a wall|strong="H7023", neither of his kinsfolks|strong="H1350", nor of his friends|strong="H7453".

Thus did Zimri|strong="H2174" destroy|strong="H8045" all the house|strong="H1004" of Baasha|strong="H1201", according to the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, which he spake|strong="H1696" against Baasha|strong="H1201" by|strong="H3027" Jehu|strong="H3058" the prophet|strong="H5030",

For all the sins|strong="H2403" of Baasha|strong="H1201", and the sins|strong="H2403" of Elah|strong="H0425" his son|strong="H1121", by which they sinned|strong="H2398", and by which they made Israel|strong="H3478" to sin|strong="H2398", in provoking the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478" to anger|strong="H3707" with their vanities|strong="H1892".

Now the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Elah|strong="H0425", and all that he did|strong="H6213", are they not written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478"?

In the twenty|strong="H6242" and seventh|strong="H7651" year|strong="H8141" of Asa|strong="H0609" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" did Zimri|strong="H2174" reign|strong="H4427" seven|strong="H7651" days|strong="H3117" in Tirzah|strong="H8656". And the people|strong="H5971" were encamped|strong="H2583" against Gibbethon|strong="H1405", which belonged to the Philistines|strong="H6430".

And the people|strong="H5971" that were encamped|strong="H2583" heard|strong="H8085" say|strong="H0559", Zimri|strong="H2174" hath conspired|strong="H7194", and hath also slain|strong="H5221" the king|strong="H4428": wherefore all Israel|strong="H3478" made Omri|strong="H6018", the captain|strong="H8269" of the host|strong="H6635", king|strong="H4427" over Israel|strong="H3478" that day|strong="H3117" in the camp|strong="H4264".

And Omri|strong="H6018" went up|strong="H5927" from Gibbethon|strong="H1405", and all Israel|strong="H3478" with him, and they besieged|strong="H6696" Tirzah|strong="H8656".

And it came to pass, when Zimri|strong="H2174" saw|strong="H7200" that the city|strong="H5892" was taken|strong="H3920", that he went|strong="H0935" into the palace|strong="H0759" of the king’s|strong="H4428" house|strong="H1004", and burnt|strong="H8313" the king’s|strong="H4428" house|strong="H1004" over him with fire|strong="H0784", and died|strong="H4191",

For his sins|strong="H2403" which he sinned|strong="H2398" in doing|strong="H6213" evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, in walking|strong="H3212" in the way|strong="H1870" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379", and in his sin|strong="H2403" which he did|strong="H6213", to make Israel|strong="H3478" to sin|strong="H2398".

Now the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Zimri|strong="H2174", and his treason|strong="H7195" that he wrought|strong="H7194", are they not written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478"?

Then were the people|strong="H5971" of Israel|strong="H3478" divided|strong="H2505" into two parts|strong="H2677": half|strong="H2677" of the people|strong="H5971" followed|strong="H1961" Tibni|strong="H8402" the son|strong="H1121" of Ginath|strong="H1527", to make him king|strong="H4427"; and half|strong="H2677" followed|strong="H0310" Omri|strong="H6018".

But the people|strong="H5971" that followed|strong="H0310" Omri|strong="H6018" prevailed|strong="H2388" against|strong="H0854" the people|strong="H5971" that followed|strong="H0310" Tibni|strong="H8402" the son|strong="H1121" of Ginath|strong="H1527": so Tibni|strong="H8402" died|strong="H4191", and Omri|strong="H6018" reigned|strong="H4427".

In the thirty|strong="H7970" and first|strong="H0259" year|strong="H8141" of Asa|strong="H0609" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" began Omri|strong="H6018" to reign|strong="H4427" over Israel|strong="H3478", twelve|strong="H8147" years|strong="H8141": six|strong="H8337" years|strong="H8141" reigned|strong="H4427" he in Tirzah|strong="H8656".

And he bought|strong="H7069" the hill|strong="H2022" Samaria|strong="H8111" of Shemer|strong="H8106" for two talents|strong="H3603" of silver|strong="H3701", and built|strong="H1129" on the hill|strong="H2022", and called|strong="H7121" the name|strong="H8034" of the city|strong="H5892" which he built|strong="H1129", after the name|strong="H8034" of Shemer|strong="H8106", owner|strong="H0113" of the hill|strong="H2022", Samaria|strong="H8111".

But Omri|strong="H6018" wrought|strong="H6213" evil|strong="H7451" in the eyes|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and did worse|strong="H7489" than all that were before|strong="H6440" him.

For he walked|strong="H3212" in all the way|strong="H1870" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379" the son|strong="H1121" of Nebat|strong="H5028", and in his sin|strong="H2403" wherewith he made Israel|strong="H3478" to sin|strong="H2398", to provoke the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478" to anger|strong="H3707" with their vanities|strong="H1892".

Now the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Omri|strong="H6018" which he did|strong="H6213", and his might|strong="H1369" that he shewed|strong="H6213", are they not written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478"?

So Omri|strong="H6018" slept|strong="H7901" with his fathers|strong="H0001", and was buried|strong="H6912" in Samaria|strong="H8111": and Ahab|strong="H0256" his son|strong="H1121" reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.

And in the thirty|strong="H7970" and eighth|strong="H8083" year|strong="H8141" of Asa|strong="H0609" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" began Ahab|strong="H0256" the son|strong="H1121" of Omri|strong="H6018" to reign|strong="H4427" over Israel|strong="H3478": and Ahab|strong="H0256" the son|strong="H1121" of Omri|strong="H6018" reigned|strong="H4427" over Israel|strong="H3478" in Samaria|strong="H8111" twenty|strong="H6242" and two|strong="H8147" years|strong="H8141".

And Ahab|strong="H0256" the son|strong="H1121" of Omri|strong="H6018" did|strong="H6213" evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* above all that were before|strong="H6440" him.

And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing|strong="H7043" for him to walk|strong="H3212" in the sins|strong="H2403" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379" the son|strong="H1121" of Nebat|strong="H5028", that he took|strong="H3947" to wife|strong="H0802" Jezebel|strong="H0348" the daughter|strong="H1323" of Ethbaal|strong="H0856" king|strong="H4428" of the Zidonians|strong="H6722", and went|strong="H3212" and served|strong="H5647" Baal|strong="H1168", and worshipped|strong="H7812" him.

And he reared up|strong="H6965" an altar|strong="H4196" for Baal|strong="H1168" in the house|strong="H1004" of Baal|strong="H1168", which he had built|strong="H1129" in Samaria|strong="H8111".

And Ahab|strong="H0256" made|strong="H6213" a grove|strong="H0842"; and Ahab|strong="H0256" did|strong="H6213" more|strong="H3254" to provoke the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478" to anger|strong="H3707" than all the kings|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" that were before|strong="H6440" him.

In his days|strong="H3117" did Hiel|strong="H2419" the Beth-elite|strong="H1017" build|strong="H1129" Jericho|strong="H3405": he laid the foundation|strong="H3245" thereof in Abiram|strong="H0048" his firstborn|strong="H1060", and set up|strong="H5324" the gates|strong="H1817" thereof in his youngest|strong="H6810" son Segub|strong="H7687", according to the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, which he spake|strong="H1696" by|strong="H3027" Joshua|strong="H3091" the son|strong="H1121" of Nun|strong="H5126".
