2 Three|strong="H7969" years|strong="H8141" reigned|strong="H4427" he in Jerusalem|strong="H3389". And his mother’s|strong="H0517" name|strong="H8034" was Maachah|strong="H4601", the daughter|strong="H1323" of Abishalom|strong="H0053".
3 And he walked|strong="H3212" in all the sins|strong="H2403" of his father|strong="H0001", which he had done|strong="H6213" before|strong="H6440" him: and his heart|strong="H3824" was not perfect|strong="H8003" with the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* his God|strong="H0430", as the heart|strong="H3824" of David|strong="H1732" his father|strong="H0001".
4 Nevertheless for David’s|strong="H1732" sake did the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* his God|strong="H0430" give|strong="H5414" him a lamp|strong="H5216" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389", to set up|strong="H6965" his son|strong="H1121" after|strong="H0310" him, and to establish|strong="H5975" Jerusalem|strong="H3389":
5 Because David|strong="H1732" did|strong="H6213" that which was right|strong="H3477" in the eyes|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and turned not aside|strong="H5493" from any thing that he commanded|strong="H6680" him all the days|strong="H3117" of his life|strong="H2416", save only in the matter|strong="H1697" of Uriah|strong="H0223" the Hittite|strong="H2850".
6 And there was war|strong="H4421" between Rehoboam|strong="H7346" and Jeroboam|strong="H3379" all the days|strong="H3117" of his life|strong="H2416".
7 Now the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Abijam|strong="H0038", and all that he did|strong="H6213", are they not written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063"? And there was war|strong="H4421" between Abijam|strong="H0038" and Jeroboam|strong="H3379".
8 And Abijam|strong="H0038" slept|strong="H7901" with his fathers|strong="H0001"; and they buried|strong="H6912" him in the city|strong="H5892" of David|strong="H1732": and Asa|strong="H0609" his son|strong="H1121" reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.
9 And in the twentieth|strong="H6242" year|strong="H8141" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379" king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" reigned|strong="H4427" Asa|strong="H0609" over Judah|strong="H3063".
10 And forty|strong="H0705" and one|strong="H0259" years|strong="H8141" reigned|strong="H4427" he in Jerusalem|strong="H3389". And his mother’s|strong="H0517" name|strong="H8034" was Maachah|strong="H4601", the daughter|strong="H1323" of Abishalom|strong="H0053".
11 And Asa|strong="H0609" did|strong="H6213" that which was right|strong="H3477" in the eyes|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, as did David|strong="H1732" his father|strong="H0001".
12 And he took away|strong="H5674" the sodomites|strong="H6945" out of the land|strong="H0776", and removed|strong="H5493" all the idols|strong="H1544" that his fathers|strong="H0001" had made|strong="H6213".
13 And also Maachah|strong="H4601" his mother|strong="H0517", even her he removed|strong="H5493" from being queen|strong="H1377", because she had made|strong="H6213" an idol|strong="H4656" in a grove|strong="H0842"; and Asa|strong="H0609" destroyed|strong="H3772" her idol|strong="H4656", and burnt|strong="H8313" it by the brook|strong="H5158" Kidron|strong="H6939".
14 But the high places|strong="H1116" were not removed|strong="H5493": nevertheless Asa’s|strong="H0609" heart|strong="H3824" was perfect|strong="H8003" with the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* all his days|strong="H3117".
15 And he brought|strong="H0935" in the things|strong="H6944" which his father|strong="H0001" had dedicated|strong="H6944", and the things which himself had dedicated|strong="H6944", into the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, silver|strong="H3701", and gold|strong="H2091", and vessels|strong="H3627".
16 And there was war|strong="H4421" between Asa|strong="H0609" and Baasha|strong="H1201" king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" all their days|strong="H3117".
17 And Baasha|strong="H1201" king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" went up|strong="H5927" against Judah|strong="H3063", and built|strong="H1129" Ramah|strong="H7414", that he might not suffer|strong="H5414" any to go out|strong="H3318" or come in|strong="H0935" to Asa|strong="H0609" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063".
18 Then Asa|strong="H0609" took|strong="H3947" all the silver|strong="H3701" and the gold|strong="H2091" that were left|strong="H3498" in the treasures|strong="H0214" of the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and the treasures|strong="H0214" of the king’s|strong="H4428" house|strong="H1004", and delivered|strong="H5414" them into the hand|strong="H3027" of his servants|strong="H5650": and king|strong="H4428" Asa|strong="H0609" sent|strong="H7971" them to Ben-hadad|strong="H1130", the son|strong="H1121" of Tabrimon|strong="H2886", the son|strong="H1121" of Hezion|strong="H2383", king|strong="H4428" of Syria|strong="H0758", that dwelt|strong="H3427" at Damascus|strong="H1834", saying|strong="H0559",
19 There is a league|strong="H1285" between me and thee, and between my father|strong="H0001" and thy father|strong="H0001": behold, I have sent|strong="H7971" unto thee a present|strong="H7810" of silver|strong="H3701" and gold|strong="H2091"; come|strong="H3212" and break|strong="H6565" thy league|strong="H1285" with Baasha|strong="H1201" king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478", that he may depart|strong="H5927" from me.
20 So Ben-hadad|strong="H1130" hearkened|strong="H8085" unto king|strong="H4428" Asa|strong="H0609", and sent|strong="H7971" the captains|strong="H8269" of the hosts|strong="H2428" which he had against the cities|strong="H5892" of Israel|strong="H3478", and smote|strong="H5221" Ijon|strong="H5859", and Dan|strong="H1835", and Abel-beth-maachah|strong="H0062", and all Cinneroth|strong="H3672", with all the land|strong="H0776" of Naphtali|strong="H5321".
21 And it came to pass, when Baasha|strong="H1201" heard|strong="H8085" thereof, that he left off|strong="H2308" building|strong="H1129" of Ramah|strong="H7414", and dwelt|strong="H3427" in Tirzah|strong="H8656".
22 Then king|strong="H4428" Asa|strong="H0609" made a proclamation|strong="H8085" throughout all Judah|strong="H3063"; none was exempted|strong="H5355": and they took|strong="H5375" away the stones|strong="H0068" of Ramah|strong="H7414", and the timber|strong="H6086" thereof, wherewith Baasha|strong="H1201" had builded|strong="H1129"; and king|strong="H4428" Asa|strong="H0609" built|strong="H1129" with them Geba|strong="H1387" of Benjamin|strong="H1144", and Mizpah|strong="H4709".
23 The rest|strong="H3499" of all the acts|strong="H1697" of Asa|strong="H0609", and all his might|strong="H1369", and all that he did|strong="H6213", and the cities|strong="H5892" which he built|strong="H1129", are they not written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063"? Nevertheless in the time|strong="H6256" of his old age|strong="H2209" he was diseased|strong="H2470" in his feet|strong="H7272".
24 And Asa|strong="H0609" slept|strong="H7901" with his fathers|strong="H0001", and was buried|strong="H6912" with his fathers|strong="H0001" in the city|strong="H5892" of David|strong="H1732" his father|strong="H0001": and Jehoshaphat|strong="H3092" his son|strong="H1121" reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.
25 And Nadab|strong="H5070" the son|strong="H1121" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379" began to reign|strong="H4427" over Israel|strong="H3478" in the second|strong="H8147" year|strong="H8141" of Asa|strong="H0609" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", and reigned|strong="H4427" over Israel|strong="H3478" two|strong="H8147" years|strong="H8141".
26 And he did|strong="H6213" evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and walked|strong="H3212" in the way|strong="H1870" of his father|strong="H0001", and in his sin|strong="H2403" wherewith he made Israel|strong="H3478" to sin|strong="H2398".
27 And Baasha|strong="H1201" the son|strong="H1121" of Ahijah|strong="H0281", of the house|strong="H1004" of Issachar|strong="H3485", conspired|strong="H7194" against him; and Baasha|strong="H1201" smote|strong="H5221" him at Gibbethon|strong="H1405", which belonged to the Philistines|strong="H6430"; for Nadab|strong="H5070" and all Israel|strong="H3478" laid siege|strong="H6696" to Gibbethon|strong="H1405".
28 Even in the third|strong="H7969" year|strong="H8141" of Asa|strong="H0609" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" did Baasha|strong="H1201" slay|strong="H4191" him, and reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.
29 And it came to pass, when he reigned|strong="H4427", that he smote|strong="H5221" all the house|strong="H1004" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379"; he left|strong="H7604" not to Jeroboam|strong="H3379" any that breathed|strong="H5397", until he had destroyed|strong="H8045" him, according unto the saying|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, which he spake|strong="H1696" by|strong="H3027" his servant|strong="H5650" Ahijah|strong="H0281" the Shilonite|strong="H7888":
30 Because of the sins|strong="H2403" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379" which he sinned|strong="H2398", and which he made Israel|strong="H3478" sin|strong="H2398", by his provocation|strong="H3708" wherewith he provoked the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478" to anger|strong="H3707".
31 Now the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Nadab|strong="H5070", and all that he did|strong="H6213", are they not written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478"?
32 And there was war|strong="H4421" between Asa|strong="H0609" and Baasha|strong="H1201" king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478" all their days|strong="H3117".
33 In the third|strong="H7969" year|strong="H8141" of Asa|strong="H0609" king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063" began Baasha|strong="H1201" the son|strong="H1121" of Ahijah|strong="H0281" to reign|strong="H4427" over all Israel|strong="H3478" in Tirzah|strong="H8656", twenty|strong="H6242" and four|strong="H0702" years|strong="H8141".
34 And he did|strong="H6213" evil|strong="H7451" in the sight|strong="H5869" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and walked|strong="H3212" in the way|strong="H1870" of Jeroboam|strong="H3379", and in his sin|strong="H2403" wherewith he made Israel|strong="H3478" to sin|strong="H2398".
