Reis 17

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

And Elijah|strong="H0452" the Tishbite|strong="H8664", who was of the inhabitants|strong="H8453" of Gilead|strong="H1568", said|strong="H0559" unto Ahab|strong="H0256", As the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478" liveth|strong="H2416", before|strong="H6440" whom I stand|strong="H5975", there shall not be dew|strong="H2919" nor rain|strong="H4306" these years|strong="H8141", but according|strong="H6310" to my word|strong="H1697".

And the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came unto him, saying|strong="H0559",

Get|strong="H3212" thee hence, and turn|strong="H6437" thee eastward|strong="H6924", and hide|strong="H5641" thyself by the brook|strong="H5158" Cherith|strong="H3747", that is before|strong="H6440" Jordan|strong="H3383".

And it shall be, that thou shalt drink|strong="H8354" of the brook|strong="H5158"; and I have commanded|strong="H6680" the ravens|strong="H6158" to feed|strong="H3557" thee there.

So he went|strong="H3212" and did|strong="H6213" according unto the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: for he went|strong="H3212" and dwelt|strong="H3427" by the brook|strong="H5158" Cherith|strong="H3747", that is before|strong="H6440" Jordan|strong="H3383".

And the ravens|strong="H6158" brought|strong="H0935" him bread|strong="H3899" and flesh|strong="H1320" in the morning|strong="H1242", and bread|strong="H3899" and flesh|strong="H1320" in the evening|strong="H6153"; and he drank|strong="H8354" of the brook|strong="H5158".

And it came to pass after|strong="H7093" a while|strong="H3117", that the brook|strong="H5158" dried up|strong="H3001", because there had been no rain|strong="H1653" in the land|strong="H0776".

And the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came unto him, saying|strong="H0559",

Arise|strong="H6965", get|strong="H3212" thee to Zarephath|strong="H6886", which belongeth to Zidon|strong="H6721", and dwell|strong="H3427" there: behold, I have commanded|strong="H6680" a widow|strong="H0490" woman|strong="H0802" there to sustain|strong="H3557" thee.

So he arose|strong="H6965" and went|strong="H3212" to Zarephath|strong="H6886". And when he came|strong="H0935" to the gate|strong="H6607" of the city|strong="H5892", behold, the widow|strong="H0490" woman|strong="H0802" was there gathering|strong="H7197" of sticks|strong="H6086": and he called|strong="H7121" to her, and said|strong="H0559", Fetch|strong="H3947" me, I pray thee, a little|strong="H4592" water|strong="H4325" in a vessel|strong="H3627", that I may drink|strong="H8354".

And as she was going|strong="H3212" to fetch|strong="H3947" it, he called|strong="H7121" to her, and said|strong="H0559", Bring|strong="H3947" me, I pray thee, a morsel|strong="H6595" of bread|strong="H3899" in thine hand|strong="H3027".

And she said|strong="H0559", As the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430" liveth|strong="H2416", I have|strong="H3426" not a cake|strong="H4580", but an handful|strong="H4393" of meal|strong="H7058" in a barrel|strong="H3537", and a little|strong="H4592" oil|strong="H8081" in a cruse|strong="H6835": and, behold, I am gathering|strong="H7197" two|strong="H8147" sticks|strong="H6086", that I may go in|strong="H0935" and dress|strong="H6213" it for me and my son|strong="H1121", that we may eat|strong="H0398" it, and die|strong="H4191".

And Elijah|strong="H0452" said|strong="H0559" unto her, Fear|strong="H3372" not; go|strong="H0935" and do|strong="H6213" as thou hast said|strong="H1697": but make|strong="H6213" me thereof|strong="H8033" a little|strong="H6996" cake|strong="H5692" first|strong="H7223", and bring|strong="H3318" it unto me, and after|strong="H0314" make|strong="H6213" for thee and for thy son|strong="H1121".

For thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478", The barrel|strong="H3537" of meal|strong="H7058" shall not waste|strong="H3615", neither shall the cruse|strong="H6835" of oil|strong="H8081" fail|strong="H2637", until the day|strong="H3117" that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* sendeth|strong="H5414" rain|strong="H1653" upon|strong="H6440" the earth|strong="H0127".

And she went|strong="H3212" and did|strong="H6213" according to the saying|strong="H1697" of Elijah|strong="H0452": and she, and he, and her house|strong="H1004", did eat|strong="H0398" many days|strong="H3117".

And the barrel|strong="H3537" of meal|strong="H7058" wasted|strong="H3615" not, neither did the cruse|strong="H6835" of oil|strong="H8081" fail|strong="H2638", according to the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, which he spake|strong="H1696" by|strong="H3027" Elijah|strong="H0452".

And it came to pass after|strong="H0310" these things|strong="H1697", that the son|strong="H1121" of the woman|strong="H0802", the mistress|strong="H1172" of the house|strong="H1004", fell sick|strong="H2470"; and his sickness|strong="H2483" was so|strong="H3966" sore|strong="H2389", that there was no breath|strong="H5397" left|strong="H3498" in him.

And she said|strong="H0559" unto Elijah|strong="H0452", What have I to do with thee, O thou man|strong="H0376" of God|strong="H0430"? art thou come|strong="H0935" unto me to call|strong="H2142" my sin|strong="H5771" to remembrance|strong="H2142", and to slay|strong="H4191" my son|strong="H1121"?

And he said|strong="H0559" unto her, Give|strong="H5414" me thy son|strong="H1121". And he took|strong="H3947" him out of her bosom|strong="H2436", and carried him up|strong="H5927" into a loft|strong="H5944", where he abode|strong="H3427", and laid|strong="H7901" him upon his own bed|strong="H4296".

And he cried|strong="H7121" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and said|strong="H0559", O \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* my God|strong="H0430", hast thou also brought evil|strong="H7489" upon the widow|strong="H0490" with whom I sojourn|strong="H1481", by slaying|strong="H4191" her son|strong="H1121"?

And he stretched|strong="H4058" himself upon the child|strong="H3206" three|strong="H7969" times|strong="H6471", and cried|strong="H7121" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and said|strong="H0559", O \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* my God|strong="H0430", I pray thee, let this child’s|strong="H3206" soul|strong="H5315" come|strong="H7725" into him|strong="H7130" again|strong="H7725".

And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* heard|strong="H8085" the voice|strong="H6963" of Elijah|strong="H0452"; and the soul|strong="H5315" of the child|strong="H3206" came|strong="H7725" into him|strong="H7130" again|strong="H7725", and he revived|strong="H2421".

And Elijah|strong="H0452" took|strong="H3947" the child|strong="H3206", and brought him down|strong="H3381" out of the chamber|strong="H5944" into the house|strong="H1004", and delivered|strong="H5414" him unto his mother|strong="H0517": and Elijah|strong="H0452" said|strong="H0559", See|strong="H7200", thy son|strong="H1121" liveth|strong="H2416".

And the woman|strong="H0802" said|strong="H0559" to Elijah|strong="H0452", Now by this|strong="H2088" I know|strong="H3045" that thou art a man|strong="H0376" of God|strong="H0430", and that the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* in thy mouth|strong="H6310" is truth|strong="H0571".
