1 Now|strong="G1161" as touching|strong="G4012" things offered unto idols|strong="G1494", we know|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" we|strong="G2192" all|strong="G3956" have|strong="G2192" knowledge|strong="G1108". Knowledge|strong="G1108" puffeth up|strong="G5448", but|strong="G1161" charity|strong="G0026" edifieth|strong="G3618".
2 And|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" any man|strong="G5100" think|strong="G1380" that he knoweth|strong="G1492" any thing|strong="G5100", he knoweth|strong="G1097" nothing|strong="G3762" yet|strong="G3764" as|strong="G2531" he ought|strong="G1163" to know|strong="G1097".
3 But|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" any man|strong="G5100" love|strong="G0025" God|strong="G2316", the same|strong="G3778" is known|strong="G1097" of|strong="G5259" him|strong="G0846".
4 As concerning|strong="G4012" therefore|strong="G3767" the eating|strong="G1035" of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols|strong="G1494", we know|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" an idol|strong="G1497" is nothing|strong="G3762" in|strong="G1722" the world|strong="G2889", and|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3754" there is none|strong="G3762" other|strong="G2087" God|strong="G2316" but|strong="G1487" one|strong="G1520".
5 For|strong="G1063" though|strong="G1512" there be|strong="G1526" that are called|strong="G3004" gods|strong="G2316", whether|strong="G1535" in|strong="G1722" heaven|strong="G3772" or|strong="G1535" in|strong="G1909" earth|strong="G1093", (as|strong="G5618" there be|strong="G1526" gods|strong="G2316" many|strong="G4183", and|strong="G2532" lords|strong="G2962" many|strong="G4183",)
6 But|strong="G0235" to us|strong="G2254" there is but one|strong="G1520" God|strong="G2316", the Father|strong="G3962", of|strong="G1537" whom|strong="G3739" are all things|strong="G3956", and|strong="G2532" we|strong="G2249" in|strong="G1519" him|strong="G0846"; and|strong="G2532" one|strong="G1520" Lord|strong="G2962" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547", by|strong="G1223" whom|strong="G3739" are all things|strong="G3956", and|strong="G2532" we|strong="G2249" by|strong="G1223" him|strong="G0846".
7 Howbeit|strong="G0235" there is not|strong="G3756" in|strong="G1722" every man|strong="G3956" that knowledge|strong="G1108": for|strong="G1161" some|strong="G5100" with conscience|strong="G4893" of the idol|strong="G1497" unto|strong="G2193" this hour|strong="G0737" eat|strong="G2068" it as|strong="G5613" a thing offered unto an idol|strong="G1494"; and|strong="G2532" their|strong="G0846" conscience|strong="G4893" being|strong="G5607" weak|strong="G0772" is defiled|strong="G3435".
8 But|strong="G1161" meat|strong="G1033" commendeth|strong="G3936" us|strong="G2248" not|strong="G3756" to God|strong="G2316": for|strong="G1063" neither|strong="G3777", if|strong="G1437" we eat|strong="G5315", are we the better|strong="G4052"; neither|strong="G3777", if|strong="G1437" we eat|strong="G5315" not|strong="G3361", are we the worse|strong="G5302".
9 But|strong="G1161" take heed|strong="G0991" lest by any means|strong="G3381" this|strong="G3778" liberty|strong="G1849" of yours|strong="G5216" become|strong="G1096" a stumblingblock|strong="G4348" to them|strong="G3588" that are weak|strong="G0770".
10 For|strong="G1063" if|strong="G1437" any man|strong="G5100" see|strong="G1492" thee|strong="G4571" which hast|strong="G2192" knowledge|strong="G1108" sit at meat|strong="G2621" in|strong="G1722" the idol’s temple|strong="G1493", shall|strong="G3618" not|strong="G3780" the conscience|strong="G4893" of him|strong="G0846" which is|strong="G5607" weak|strong="G0772" be emboldened|strong="G3618" to eat|strong="G2068" those things which are offered to idols|strong="G1494";
11 And|strong="G2532" through|strong="G1909" thy|strong="G4674" knowledge|strong="G1108" shall|strong="G0622" the weak|strong="G0770" brother|strong="G0080" perish|strong="G0622", for|strong="G1223" whom|strong="G3739" Christ|strong="G5547" died|strong="G0599"?
12 But|strong="G1161" when ye sin|strong="G0264" so|strong="G3779" against|strong="G1519" the brethren|strong="G0080", and|strong="G2532" wound|strong="G5180" their|strong="G0846" weak|strong="G0770" conscience|strong="G4893", ye sin|strong="G0264" against|strong="G1519" Christ|strong="G5547".
13 Wherefore|strong="G1355", if|strong="G1487" meat|strong="G1033" make|strong="G4624" my|strong="G3450" brother|strong="G0080" to offend|strong="G4624", I will eat|strong="G5315" no|strong="G3361" flesh|strong="G2907" while|strong="G1519" the world standeth|strong="G0165", lest|strong="G3361" I make|strong="G4624" my|strong="G3450" brother|strong="G0080" to|strong="G2443" offend|strong="G4624".
