1 A psalm for David. Of the sons of Jonadab, and the former captives. In thee, O Lord, I have hoped, let me never be put to confusion:
1 Em ti, Senhor , me refugio; não seja eu jamais envergonhado.
2 deliver me in thy justice, and rescue me. Incline thy ear unto me, and save me.
2 Livra-me por tua justiça e resgata-me; inclina-me os ouvidos e salva-me.
3 Be thou unto me a God, a protector, and a place of strength: that thou mayst make me safe. For thou art my firmament and my refuge.
3 Sê tu para mim uma rocha habitável em que eu sempre possa me refugiar. Ordenaste que eu me salve, pois tu és a minha rocha e a minha fortaleza.
4 Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the sinner, and out of the hand of the transgressor of the law and of the unjust.
4 Livra-me, Deus meu, das mãos do ímpio, das garras do homem injusto e cruel.
5 For thou art my patience, O Lord: my hope, O Lord, from my youth;
5 Pois tu és a minha esperança, a minha confiança desde a minha mocidade.
6 By thee have I been confirmed from the womb: from my mother's womb thou art my protector. Of thee shall I continually sing:
6 Em ti eu tenho me apoiado desde o meu nascimento; tu me tiraste do ventre materno. A ti se dirige constantemente o meu louvor.
7 I run become unto many as a wonder, but thou art a strong helper.
7 Para muitos sou motivo de espanto, mas tu és o meu forte refúgio.
8 Let my mouth be filled with praise, that I may sing thy glory; thy greatness all the day long.
8 Os meus lábios estão repletos do teu louvor e da tua glória continuamente.
9 Cast me not off in the time of old age: when my strength shall fail, do not thou forsake me.
9 Não me rejeites na minha velhice; quando me faltarem as forças, não me desampares.
10 For my enemies have spoken against me; and they that watched my soul have consulted together,
10 Pois os meus inimigos falam contra mim; e os que querem matar-me conspiram,
11 Saying: God hath forsaken him: pursue and take him, for there is none to deliver him.
11 dizendo: “Deus o abandonou. Persigam-no e prendam-no, pois não há quem o possa livrar.”
12 O God, be not thou far from me: O my God, make haste to my help.
12 Ó Deus, não te ausentes de mim; Deus meu, apressa-te em me socorrer.
13 Let them be confounded and come to nothing that detract my soul; let them be covered with confusion and shame that seek my hurt.
13 Que sejam envergonhados e consumidos os que são adversários de minha alma; cubram-se de vergonha e de vexame os que procuram o meu mal.
14 But I will always hope; and will add to all thy praise.
14 Quanto a mim, esperarei sempre e te louvarei cada vez mais.
15 My mouth shall shew forth thy justice; thy salvation all the day long. Because I have not knows learning,
15 A minha boca proclamará a tua justiça; o dia inteiro contarei os feitos da tua salvação, ainda que eu não saiba o seu número.
16 I will enter into the powers of the Lord: O Lord, I will be mindful of thy justice alone.
16 Irei na força do Senhor Deus; anunciarei a tua justiça, a tua somente.
17 Thou hast taught me, O God, from my youth: and till now I will declare thy wonderful works.
17 Tu me tens ensinado, ó Deus, desde a minha mocidade; e até agora tenho anunciado as tuas maravilhas.
18 And unto old age and grey hairs: O God, forsake me not, Until I shew forth thy arm to all the generation that is to come: Thy power,
18 Não me desampares, ó Deus, agora que estou velho e de cabelos brancos, até que eu tenha declarado à presente geração a tua força e às gerações vindouras o teu poder.
19 and thy justice, O God, even to the highest great things thou hast done: O God, who is like to thee?
19 A tua justiça, ó Deus, se eleva até os céus. Grandes coisas tens feito, ó Deus; quem é semelhante a ti?
20 How great troubles hast thou shewn me, many and grievous: and turning thou hast brought me to life, and hast brought me back again from the depths of the earth :
20 Tu, que me tens feito ver muitas angústias e males, me restaurarás ainda a vida e de novo me tirarás dos abismos da terra.
21 Thou hast multiplied thy magnificence; and turning to me thou hast comforted me.
21 Aumenta a minha grandeza e consola-me novamente.
22 For I will also confess to thee thy truth with the instruments of psaltery: O God, I will sing to thee with the harp, thou holy one of Israel.
22 Eu também te louvo com a lira por tua verdade, ó Deus meu; cantarei louvores a ti ao som da harpa, ó Santo de Israel.
23 My lips shall greatly rejoice, when I shall sing to thee; and my soul which thou hast redeemed.
23 Os meus lábios exultarão quando eu cantar louvores a ti; também exultará a minha alma, que remiste.
24 Yea and my tongue shall meditate on thy justice all the day; when they shall be confounded and put to shame that seek evils to me.
24 Igualmente a minha língua celebrará a tua justiça todo o dia; pois estão envergonhados e confundidos os que procuram o meu mal.
