1 For David, when he changed his countenance before Achimelech, who dismissed him, and he went his way. [1 Kings 21.]
1 Eu sempre darei graças a Deus, o o seu louvor estará nos meus lábios o dia inteiro.
2 I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise shall be always in my mouth.
2 Eu o louvarei por causa das coisas que ele tem feito; os que são perseguidos ouvirão isso e se alegrarão.
3 In the Lord shall my soul be praised: let the meek hear and rejoice.
3 Anunciem comigo a sua grandeza; louvemos juntos o
4 O magnify the Lord with me; and let us extol his name together.
4 Eu pedi a ajuda do Senhor , e ele me respondeu; ele me livrou de todos os meus medos.
5 I sought the Lord, and he heard me; and he delivered me from all my troubles.
5 Os que são perseguidos olham para ele e se alegram; eles nunca ficarão desapontados.
6 Come ye to him and be enlightened: and your faces shall not be confounded.
6 Eu, um pobre sofredor, gritei; o e me livrou das minhas aflições.
7 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him: and saved him out of all his troubles.
7 O Anjo do Senhor fica em volta daqueles que o e os protege do perigo.
8 The angel of the Lord shall encamp round about them that fear him: and shall deliver them.
8 Procure descobrir, por você mesmo, como o Feliz aquele que encontra segurança nele!
9 O taste, and see that the Lord is sweet: blessed is the man that hopeth in him.
9 Que todos os que se dedicam a Deus o temam, pois aqueles que o temem não têm falta de nada!
10 Fear the Lord, all ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
10 Até os leões não têm comida e passam fome, porém não falta nada aos que procuram a ajuda do
11 The rich have wanted, and have suffered hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not be deprived of any good.
11 Venham, meus jovens amigos, e escutem, que eu os ensinarei a temer a Deus, o
12 Come, children, hearken to me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 Vocês querem aproveitar a vida? Querem viver muito e ser felizes?
13 Who is the man that desireth life: who loveth to see good days?
13 Então procurem não dizer coisas más e não contem mentiras.
14 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
14 Afastem-se do mal e façam o bem; procurem a paz e façam tudo para alcançá-la.
15 Turn away from evil and do good: seek after peace and pursue it.
15 Deus cuida das pessoas honestas e ouve os seus pedidos.
16 The eyes of the Lord are upon the just: and his ears unto their prayers.
16 Mas ele é contra os que fazem o mal; e assim, quando morrem, eles são logo esquecidos.
17 But the countenance of the Lord is against them that do evil things: to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17 Quando as pessoas honestas chamam o ele as ouve e as livra de todas as suas aflições.
18 The just cried, and the Lord heard them: and delivered them out of all their troubles.
18 Ele fica perto dos que estão desanimados e salva os que perderam a esperança.
19 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a contrite heart: and he will save the humble of spirit.
19 Os bons passam por muitas aflições, mas o
20 Many are the afflictions of the just; but out of them all will the Lord deliver them.
20 Ele os protege completamente; nenhum dos seus ossos é quebrado.
21 The Lord keepeth all their bones, not one of them shall be broken.
21 Os maus serão mortos por causa das suas maldades; aqueles que odeiam os bons serão castigados.
22 The death of the wicked is very evil: and they that hate the just shall be guilty.
22 O Senhor Deus salva a vida dos seus aqueles que procuram a sua proteção não serão condenados.
23 The Lord will redeem the souls of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall offend.
