1 And when they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, to the mountain of the olive trees, he sends two of the disciples of himself, and says to them:
1 Jesus e seus discípulos aproximavam-se de Jerusalém e chegaram aos arredores de Betfagé e de Betânia, perto do monte das Oliveiras. Desse lugar Jesus enviou dois dos seus discípulos,
2 Go you into the town that opposite you; and immediately entering into her, you will find a colt having been tied, upon which no one of men has sat; having loosed him lead you.
2 dizendo-lhes: "Ide à aldeia que está defronte de vós e, logo ao entrardes nela, achareis preso um jumentinho, em que não montou ainda homem algum; desprendei-o e trazei-mo.
3 And if any one to you should say: Why do you this? say you: That the master of him need has; and immediately him he will send here.
3 E se alguém vos perguntar: Que fazeis?, dizei: O Senhor precisa dele, mas daqui a pouco o devolverá."
4 They went and, and found a colt having been tied near the door without in the street; and they loosen him.
4 Indo eles, acharam o jumentinho atado fora, diante duma porta, na curva do caminho. Iam-no desprendendo,
5 And some of those there standing said to them: What do you loosing the colt?
5 quando alguns dos que ali estavam perguntaram: "Ei, que estais fazendo? Por que soltais o jumentinho?"
6 They and said to them even as commanded the Jesus; and they suffered them.
6 Responderam como Jesus lhes havia ordenado; e deixaram-no levar.
7 And they led the colt to the Jesus, and they threw upon him the mantles of themselves; and he sat upon him.
7 Conduziram a Jesus o jumentinho, cobriram-no com seus mantos, e Jesus montou nele.
8 Many and the mantles of themselves spread in the way; others and branches cut off from the trees, and scattered in the way.
8 Muitos estendiam seus mantos no caminho; outros cortavam ramos das árvores e espalhavam-nos, pelo chão.
9 And those going before and those following did cry, saying: Hosanna; worthy of blessing be coming in name of Lord;
9 Tanto os que precediam como os que iam atrás clamavam: "Hosana! Bendito o que vem em nome do Senhor!
10 worthy of blessing the coming kingdom of the father of us David; Hosanna in the highest.
10 O Bendito o Rei?.que vai começar, o reino de Davi, nosso pai! Hosana no mais alto dos céus!"
11 And entered into Jerusalem the Jesus, and into the temple; and having looked round on all, evening now being the hour, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.
11 Jesus entrou em Jerusalém e dirigiu-se ao templo. Aí lançou-os olhos para tudo o que o cercava. Depois, como já fosse tarde, voltou para Betânia com os Doze.
12 And the next day coming out of them from Bethany, he was hungry;
12 No outro dia, ao saírem de Betãnia, Jesus teve fome.
13 and seeing a fig tree at a distance, having leavens, he went, if perhaps he will find any thing on her; and coming to her, nothing he found except leaves; not for it was season of figs.
13 Avistou de longe uma figueira coberta de folhas e foi ver se encontrava nela algum fruto. Aproximou-se da árvore, mas só encontrou folhas pois não era tempo de figos.
14 And answering he said to her: No more of thee to the age no one fruit may eat. And heard the disciples of him.
14 E disse à figueira: "Jamais alguém coma fruto de ti!" E os discípulos ouviram esta maldição.
15 And they come to Jerusalem; and going into temple he began to cast out those selling and buying in the temple; and the tables the moneychangers, and the seats of those selling the doves he overturned;
15 Chegaram a Jerusalém e Jesus entrou no templo. E começou a expulsar os que no templo vendiam e compravam; derrubou as mesas dos trocadores de moedas e as cadeiras dos que vendiam pombas.
16 and not suffered, that any one should carry an article through the temple.
16 Não consentia que ninguém transportasse algum objeto pelo templo.
17 And he taught, saying to them: Not is it written: That the house of me, a house of prayer shall be called for all the nations? you but have made it a den of robbers.
17 E ensinava-lhes nestes termos: "`Não está porventura escrito: A minha casa chamar-se-á casa de oração para todas as nações {Is 56,7}? Mas vós fizestes dela um covil de ladrões {Jr 7,11}.
18 And heard the scribes and the highpriests, and they sought how him they might destroy; they feared for him, because all the crowd was amazed at the teaching of him.
18 Os príncipes dos sacerdotes e os escribas ouviram-no e procuravam um modo de o matar. Temiam-no, porque todo o povo se admirava da sua doutrina.
19 And when evening it became, he went out of the city.
19 Quando já era tarde, saíram da cidade.
20 And in the morning passing along, they saw the figtree having been withered from roots;
20 No dia seguinte pela manhã, ao passarem junto da figueira, viram que ela secara até a raiz.
21 And remembering the Peter, says to him: Rabbi, lo, the figtree, which thou didst curse, has been withered.
21 Pedro lembrou-se do que se tinha passado na véspera e disse a Jesus: "`Olha, Mestre, como secou a figueira que amaldiçoaste!"
22 And answering the Jesus says to them: Have you faith of God.
22 Respondeu-lhes Jesus: "Tende fé em Deus.
23 Indeed for I say to you, that whoever may say to the mountain this: Be lifted up, and cast into the sea; and not should doubt in the heart of himself, but should believe that what he says comes to pass; it shall be to him whatever he may say.
23 Em verdade vos declaro: todo o que disser a este monte: Levanta-te e lança-te ao mar, se não duvidar no seu coração, mas acreditar que sucederá tudo o que disser, obterá esse milagre.
24 Through this I say to you, all things whatever praying you desire, believe you that you receive, and it shall be to you.
24 Por isso vos digo: tudo o que pedirdes na oração, crede que o tendes recebido, e ser-vos-á dado.
25 And when you stand praying, forgive, if any thing you have against any one; that also the Father of you, that in the heavens, may forgive you the faults of you.
25 E quando vos puserdes de pé para orar, perdoai, se tiverdes algum ressentimento contra alguém, para que também vosso Pai, que está nos céus, vos perdoe os vossos pecados. {
26 If but you not forgive, neither the Father of you, that in the heavens, will forgive the faults of you.
26 Mas se não perdoardes, tampouco vosso Pai que está nos céus vos perdoará os vossos pecados.}"
27 And they come again to Jerusalem. And in the temple walking of him, come to him the highpriests and the scribes and the elders,
27 Jesus e seus discípulos voltaram outra vez a Jerusalém. E andando Jesus pelo templo, acercaram-se dele os príncipes dos sacerdotes, os escribas e os anciãos,
28 and they say to him: By what authority these things doest thou? and who to thee the authority this gave, that these things thou mayest do?
28 e perguntaram-lhe: "Com que direito fazes isto? Quem te deu autoridade para fazer essas coisas?"
29 The but Jesus answering said to them: I will ask you also I one word; and answer you to me, and I will tell to you, by what authority these things I do.
29 Jesus respondeu-lhes: "Também eu vos farei uma pergunta; respondei-ma, e dir-vos-ei com que direito faço essas coisas.
30 The dipping of John from heaven was or from men? answer you to me.
30 O batismo de João vinha do céu ou dos homens? Respondei-me."
31 And they reasoned among themselves, saying: If we should say: From heaven, he will say: Why then not did you believe him?
31 E discorriam lá consigo: "Se dissermos: Do céu, ele dirá: Por que razão, pois, não crestes nele?
32 But if we should say: From men; they feared the people; all for held the John, that really a prophet was.
32 Se, ao contrário, dissermos: Dos homens, tememos o povo." Com efeito, tinham medo do povo, porque todos julgavam ser João deveras um profeta.
33 And answering they say to the Jesus. Not we know. And the Jesus answering says to them: Neither I say to you, by what authority these things I do.
33 Responderam a Jesus: "Não o sabemos." "E eu tampouco vos direi, disse Jesus, com que direito faço estas coisas."
