1 I am the vine the true, and the Father of me the vinedresser is.
1 — Eu sou a videira verdadeira, e o meu Pai é o lavrador.
2 Every branch in me, not bearing fruit, he takes away it; and every one the fruit bearing, he cleanses it, that more fruit it may bear.
2 Todo ramo que, estando em mim, não der fruto, ele o corta; e todo o que dá fruto ele limpa, para que produza mais fruto ainda.
3 Already you clean are, through the word, which I have spoken to you.
3 Vocês já estão limpos por causa da palavra que lhes tenho falado.
4 Abide you in me, and I in you. As the branch not is able fruit to bear of itself, if not it may abide in the vine; so neither you, if not in me you abide.
4 Permaneçam em mim, e eu permanecerei em vocês. Como o ramo não pode produzir fruto de si mesmo se não permanecer na videira, assim vocês não podem dar fruto se não permanecerem em mim.
5 I am the vine, you the branches. He abiding in me, and I am in him, this bears fruit much; because apart from me not you are able to do nothing.
5 — Eu sou a videira, vocês são os ramos. Quem permanece em mim, e eu, nele, esse dá muito fruto; porque sem mim vocês não podem fazer nada.
6 If not any one may abide in me, he is cast out, like the branch, and is withered; and they gather them, and into a fire they cast, and it is burned.
6 Se alguém não permanecer em mim, será lançado fora, à semelhança do ramo, e secará; e o apanham, lançam no fogo e o queimam.
7 If you abide in me and the words of me in you may abide, whatever you may wish you shall ask, and it shall be for you.
7 Se permanecerem em mim, e as minhas palavras permanecerem em vocês, pedirão o que quiserem, e lhes será feito.
8 In this was glorified the Father of me, that fruit much you might bear, and you shall be to me disciples.
8 Nisto é glorificado o meu Pai: que vocês deem muito fruto; e assim mostrarão que são meus discípulos.
9 As loved me the Father, and I loved you; abide you in the love the mine.
9 Como o Pai me amou, também eu amei vocês; permaneçam no meu amor.
10 If the commandments of me you may keep, you will abide in the love of me; as I the commandments of the Father of me have kept, and abide of him in the love.
10 Se vocês guardarem os meus mandamentos, permanecerão no meu amor, assim como também eu tenho guardado os mandamentos de meu Pai e no seu amor permaneço.
11 These things I have spoken to you, that the joy the mine in you may abide, and the joy of you may be fulfilled.
11 Tenho lhes dito estas coisas para que a minha alegria esteja em vocês, e a alegria de vocês seja completa.
12 This is the commandment the mine, that you love each other, as I loved you.
12 — O meu mandamento é este: que vocês amem uns aos outros, assim como eu os amei.
13 Greater of this love no one has, that any one the life of himself may lay down in behalf of the friends of himself.
13 Ninguém tem amor maior do que este: de alguém dar a própria vida pelos seus amigos.
14 You friends of me are, if you may do what things I command you.
14 Vocês são meus amigos se fazem o que eu lhes ordeno.
15 No more you I call slaves; because the slaves not knows what does of him the lord; you but I have called friends, because all things which I heard from the Father of me, I made known to you.
15 Já não chamo vocês de servos, porque o servo não sabe o que o seu senhor faz; mas tenho chamado vocês de amigos, porque tudo o que ouvi de meu Pai eu lhes dei a conhecer.
16 Not you me did choose, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you might go and fruit might bear, and the fruit of you might abide; so that whatever you may ask the Father in the name of me, he may give to you.
16 Não foram vocês que me escolheram; pelo contrário, eu os escolhi e os designei para que vão e deem fruto, e o fruto de vocês permaneça, a fim de que tudo o que pedirem ao Pai em meu nome, ele lhes conceda.
17 These things I command you, that you may love each other.
17 O que eu lhes ordeno é isto: que vocês amem uns aos outros.
18 If the world you hates, you know, that me before you it has hated.
18 — Se o mundo odeia vocês, saibam que, antes de odiar vocês, odiou a mim.
19 If of the world you were, the world would the own kiss, because but of the world not you are, but I chose you out of the world, on account of this hates you the world.
19 Se vocês fossem do mundo, o mundo amaria o que era seu; mas vocês não são do mundo — pelo contrário, eu dele os escolhi — e, por isso, o mundo odeia vocês.
20 Remember you the world, of which I said to you. Not is a slave greater of the lord of himself. If me they persecuted, also you they will persecute; if the word of me they kept, also the yours they will keep.
20 Lembrem-se da palavra que eu disse a vocês: “O servo não é maior do que seu senhor.” Se perseguiram a mim, também perseguirão vocês; se guardaram a minha palavra, também guardarão a de vocês.
21 But these things all they will do to you on account of the name of me, because not they know him sending me.
21 Tudo isso, porém, farão com vocês por causa do meu nome, porque não conhecem aquele que me enviou.
22 If not I had come and spoken to them, sin not they had; now but an excuse not they have about the sin of them.
22 Se eu não tivesse vindo e lhes falado, eles não teriam nenhum pecado; mas, agora, não têm desculpa do seu pecado.
23 He me hating, also the Father of me hates.
23 Quem odeia a mim odeia também o meu Pai.
24 If the works, not I had done among them, which no one other has done, sin not they had; now but even they have seen, and have hated both me and that Father of me.
24 Se eu não tivesse feito entre eles as obras que nenhum outro fez, eles não teriam nenhum pecado; mas, agora, não somente viram como também odiaram tanto a mim como o meu Pai.
25 But, that may be fulfilled the word of having been written in the law of them: That they hated me without cause.
25 Isso, porém, é para que se cumpra a palavra escrita na Lei deles: “Odiaram-me sem motivo.”
26 When but may come the helper, whom I will send to you from the Father, (the spirit of the truth, which from the Father shall come out,) that will testify concerning me.
26 — Quando, porém, vier o Consolador, que eu enviarei a vocês da parte do Pai, o Espírito da verdade, que dele procede, esse dará testemunho de mim.
27 Also you and shall testify, because from a beginning with me you are.
27 E vocês também testemunharão, porque estão comigo desde o princípio.
