1 See you, what love has given to us the Father, so that children of God we should be called. On account of this the world not knows us, because not it knew him.
1 Vejam como é grande o amor do Pai por nós! O seu amor é tão grande, que somos chamados de filhos de Deus e somos, de fato, seus filhos. É por isso que o mundo não nos conhece, pois não conheceu a Deus.
2 Beloved ones, now children of God we are, and not yet was it brought to light, what we shall be; we know but, that if he should appear, like to him we shall be; because we shall see him, as he is.
2 Meus amigos, agora nós somos filhos de Deus, mas ainda não sabemos o que vamos ser. Porém sabemos isto: quando Cristo aparecer, ficaremos parecidos com ele, pois o veremos como ele realmente é.
3 And every one the having the hope this in him, purifies himself, as he pure is.
3 E todo aquele que tem essa esperança em Cristo purifica-se a si mesmo, assim como Cristo é puro.
4 Every one the doing the sin, also the lawlessness does; and the sin is the lawlessness.
4 Quem peca é culpado de quebrar a lei de Deus, porque o pecado é a quebra da lei.
5 And you know, that he was manifested, so that the sins of us he might take away; and sin in him not is.
5 Vocês já sabem que Cristo veio para tirar os pecados e que ele não tem nenhum pecado.
6 Every one the in him abiding, not sins; every one the sinning, not has seen him, nor has known him.
6 Assim, quem vive unido com Cristo não continua pecando. Porém quem continua pecando nunca o viu e nunca o conheceu.
7 Dear children, no one let deceive you; the one doing the righteousness, righteous is, as he righteous is.
7 Meus filhinhos, não deixem que ninguém os engane. Aquele que faz o que é correto é correto, assim como Cristo é correto.
8 The one doing the sin, from the accuser is; because from a beginning the accuser sins. For this was manifested the son of the God, so that he might destroy the works of the accuser.
8 Quem continua pecando pertence ao Diabo porque o Diabo peca desde a criação do mundo. E o Filho de Deus veio para isto: para destruir o que o Diabo tem feito.
9 Every one the having been begotten of the God, sin not does, because seed of him in him abides; and not is able to sin, because by the God he has been begotten.
9 Quem é filho de Deus não continua pecando, porque a vida que Deus dá permanece nessa pessoa. E ela não pode continuar pecando, porque Deus é o seu Pai.
10 In this manifest is the children of the God and the children of the accuser. Every one the not doing righteousness, not is of the God, and the not one loving the brother of himself.
10 A diferença clara que existe entre os filhos de Deus e os filhos do Diabo é esta: quem não faz o que é correto ou não ama o seu irmão não é filho de Deus.
11 Because this is the message, which you heard from beginning, that we should love each other;
11 A mensagem que vocês ouviram desde o princípio é esta: que nos amemos uns aos outros.
12 not as Cain of the evil one was, and killed the brother of himself; and on account of what killed he him? because the works of him evil was, those but of the brother of him righteous.
12 Não sejamos como Caim, que pertencia ao Maligno e matou o próprio irmão. E por que o matou? Porque o que Caim fazia era mau, e o que o seu irmão fazia era bom.
13 Not do you wonder, brethren of me, if hates you the world.
13 Meus irmãos, não estranhem se as pessoas do mundo os odeiam.
14 We know, that we have passed over from the death into the life, because we love the brethren; the not loving the brother, abides in the death.
14 Nós sabemos que já passamos da morte para a vida e sabemos isso porque amamos os nossos irmãos. Quem não ama está ainda morto.
15 Every one the hating the brother of himself, a man killer is; and we know, that every man killer not has life agelasting in him abiding.
15 Quem odeia o seu irmão é assassino, e vocês sabem que nenhum assassino tem em si a vida eterna.
16 By this we have known the love, because he on behalf of us the life of himself laid down; and we ought on behalf of the brethren the lives to lay down.
16 Sabemos o que é o amor por causa disto: Cristo deu a sua vida por nós. Por isso nós também devemos dar a nossa vida pelos nossos irmãos.
17 Who but may have the substance of the world, and may see the brother of himself need having, and may close the bowels of himself from him, how the love of the God abides in him?
17 Se alguém é rico e vê o seu irmão passando necessidade, mas fecha o seu coração para essa pessoa, como pode afirmar que, de fato, ama a Deus?
18 Dear children of me, not we should love in word nor in the tongue, but in work and in truth.
18 Meus filhinhos , o nosso amor não deve ser somente de palavras e de conversa. Deve ser um amor verdadeiro, que se mostra por meio de ações.
19 And by this we know, that of the truth we are, and in presence of him we shall assure the hearts of us,
19 É assim , então, que saberemos que pertencemos à verdade de Deus e que o nosso coração se sente seguro na presença dele.
20 because, if should condemn us the heart, that greater is the God of the heart of us, and knows all things.
20 Pois, se o nosso coração nos condena, sabemos que Deus é maior do que o nosso coração e conhece tudo.
21 Beloved ones, if the heart of us not should condemn us, boldness we have towards the God,
21 Portanto, meus queridos amigos, se o nosso coração não nos condena, temos coragem na presença de Deus.
22 and whatever we may ask, we receive from him, because the commandments of him we keep, and the things pleasing in presence of him we do.
22 Recebemos dele tudo o que pedimos porque obedecemos aos seus mandamentos e fazemos o que agrada a ele.
23 And this is the commandment of him, that we should believe in the name of the son of him Jesus Anointed, and should love each other, as he gave commandment to us.
23 E o que ele manda é isto: que creiamos no seu Filho, Jesus Cristo, e que nos amemos uns aos outros, como Cristo nos mandou fazer.
24 And the one keeping the commandments of him, in him abides, and he in him; and by this we know, that he abides in us, from the spirit, of which to us he gave.
24 Quem obedece aos mandamentos de Deus vive unido com Deus, e Deus vive unido com ele. E, por causa do Espírito que ele nos deu, sabemos que Deus vive unido conosco.
