1 [To the chief Musician. On Shushan. Testimony. Michtam of David; to teach: when he strove with the Syrians of Mesopotamia, and the Syrians of Zobah, and Joab returned, and smote the Edomites in the valley of salt, twelve thousand.] O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased: restore us again.
1 Ao Músico-chefe, sobre Susã-Edute, Mictã de Davi, para ensinar; quando ele lutou com Arã Naaraim e com Arã Zobá,quando Joabe retornou, e feriu no vale do sal doze mil edomitas. Ó Deus, tu nos rejeitaste, tu nos espalhaste, tu te desagradaste; ó, torna-te a nós novamente.
2 Thou hast made the earth to tremble, thou hast rent it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.
2 Tu fizeste a terra tremer; tu a quebraste. Cura as suas brechas, pois ela treme.
3 Thou hast shewn thy people hard things; thou hast made us to drink the wine of bewilderment.
3 Tu mostraste ao teu povo duras coisas; tu nos fizeste beber o vinho da perplexidade.
4 Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth, (Selah,)
4 Tu deste uma bandeira para os que te temem, que ela possa ser exibida por causa da verdade. Selá.
5 That thy beloved ones may be delivered. Save with thy right hand, and answer me.
5 Que os teus amados possam ser libertos; salva com a tua mão direita, e ouve-me.
6 God hath spoken in his holiness: I will exult, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
6 Deus falou em sua santidade: Eu me regozijarei, dividirei Siquém e medirei o vale de Sucote.
7 Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine, and Ephraim is the strength of my head; Judah is my law-giver;
7 Gileade é minha, e Manassés é minha; Efraim também é a força da minha cabeça; Judá é meu legislador.
8 Moab is my wash-pot; upon Edom will I cast my sandal; Philistia, shout aloud because of me.
8 Moabe é minha bacia de lavar; sobre Edom lançarei minha sandália; Filístia triunfa por minha causa.
9 Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me unto Edom?
9 Quem me trará para dentro da cidade forte? Quem me guiará para Edom?
10 {Wilt} not thou, O God, who didst cast us off? and didst not go forth, O God, with our armies?
10 Não serás tu, ó Deus, que nos rejeitaste? E tu, ó Deus, que não saíste com os nossos exércitos?
11 Give us help from trouble; for vain is man's deliverance.
11 Dá-nos socorro na tribulação, porque vão é o socorro do homem.
12 Through God we shall do valiantly; and he it is that will tread down our adversaries.
12 Através de Deus o faremos valentemente; pois ele é aquele que pisará os nossos inimigos.
