3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;

4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
5 Quie¹ i⁴lang²i³ naih⁵ m⁴tyi⁴ quieh¹, la⁴ne³ a⁴júan⁴ a³m⁴ a³cúanh¹ tionh² jm² ma³ya⁴jo³⁴ a³ra⁵hain³² tsei⁴³ i²con²³ Jon⁴dai¹, quie¹ a⁴júan⁴i³ naih¹ i²con²³ i³cúa³ tionh².
5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;

7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
8 I² i²a⁴toh⁴ ne⁵, ua²tionh²ˉ³ con³ co³hei²tsei³, jian³ i⁴sia³ i⁴ñeih⁴ i²conh²ˉ³, jian³ i⁴ma²hnoh³²ˉ³ si³reunh⁴ˉ¹, jian³ i⁴jieh⁴ ñei⁴ hoh⁴³ˉ³, jian³ i⁴tsei³⁴ hoh⁴³ˉ³.

9 Jian³ sa⁴hniah³ jainh²ˉ³ hlagh³² nei² quieh¹ i⁴hlagh³², a⁵ga⁴ jau²hlagh³² nei² quieh¹ jau²hlagh³² liah⁴; a⁵sia³, quie¹ hniah³ jainh²ˉ³ jau²³ tsei²³ nei² quieh¹i³, quie¹ ñih¹ˉ³ i⁴a⁴te⁴ hnei³ Jon⁴dai¹ i⁴tangh⁴ˉ³ i⁴tsei³⁴.
9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
10 Quie¹ ra³juah⁴ Ma²jyi³:
10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 Ta⁵co⁴³ ua²quein⁴i³ i⁴hlagh³², ua²júan⁴i³ i⁴tsei³⁴,
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 Quie¹ la⁴jang³⁴ a³tsein²³, je³ Se³ño²³ quieh¹i³,
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 ¿Jian³ hain³ lei⁴ li⁴júan³⁴ ta²leg⁴³ i²conh²ˉ³ tionh²ˉ³, juah⁴ne³ ya¹hangh⁴ˉ³ jmah³ i⁴tsei³⁴?
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 Jian³ liah⁴, juah⁴ne³ canh³ˉ³ ma²eu⁴³ nei² quieh¹ i⁴júanh³ˉ³ i⁴tsei³⁴, eu⁴³ tsei³⁴ jm² renh³ˉ³ la⁴ne³. I⁴jon³ sa⁴hniah³ júanh²ˉ³ canh⁴³ i²con²³ chie³ tionh², jian³ a⁵ga⁴ hniah³ sianh³ˉ³ co³hei²tsei³;
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 a⁵sia³, quie¹ hniah³ ma²conh³²ˉ³ Se³ño²³ Jon⁴dai¹ naih⁵ ni²hoh⁴³ˉ³ tionh²ˉ³, jian³ hniah³ tionh²ˉ³ re³ la⁴jeg³⁴ nie⁴³ i⁴huan³² m⁴tyi⁴ quianh³ˉ³ jian³ i⁴canh⁴³ˉ³ Jon⁴dai¹ i⁴jainh²ˉ³ jau²³ i²con²³ la⁴jang³⁴ a³ŋang³ nei² quieh¹ i⁴ti²hain³² hoh⁴³ˉ³.
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.
16 Ŋeng² hnei³ re³ i⁴laih² hoh⁴³ˉ³ ma⁵teih³²ˉ³, canh⁴a² la⁴jang³⁴ a³hleh² hlagh³² nei² quianh³ˉ³ i⁴la⁴jan³ a³ti²ren³ chie³² li⁴hyeih¹i³, la⁴jang³⁴ a³hleh² hlagh³² nei² quieh¹ i⁴ma⁵teih³²ˉ³ i²con²³ Cristo.
16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 Quie¹ eu⁴³a² quein⁴³ i⁴canh³ˉ³ ma²eu⁴³ nei² quieh¹ i⁴júanh³ˉ³ i⁴tsei³⁴, juah⁴ne³ la⁴ne³ hnie³⁴ Jon⁴dai¹, la⁴conh⁴a² nei² quieh¹ i⁴hlagh³².
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 Quie¹ Cristo liah⁴ a⁴can³⁴i³ ma²eu⁴³ conh⁴ a⁴la³ nei² quieh¹ chie³², jan³ a³tsein²³ nei² quieh¹ a³hlangh², canh⁴a² si⁵jo⁴i³ jnia¹ hlonh² Jon⁴dai¹, quie¹ i⁴chie⁴³pa² a⁴jaun³⁴ he³²i³, quie¹ a⁴jainh¹i³ con⁴juah⁴ m⁴tyi⁴,
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.

19 É neste mesmo espírito que ele foi pregar aos espíritos que eram detidos no cárcere, àqueles que outrora, nos dias de Noé, tinham sido rebeldes,
20 a³hain⁴ tionh² a³sa⁴ra⁵naih¹ jm² ma³ya⁴jo³⁴ ma²sian³ Noé, i⁴ma²jian²³ Jon⁴dai¹ i⁴júanh³ tsei⁴³ ta¹la⁴ ma²júan³i³ a²úan⁴³ leg⁴³ a²hnei⁴³. I² coh⁵ jon³ ne⁵, meih³ chie³pa² a⁴lon⁴ joh⁴³, a³a⁴lon⁴ jm³, jña³⁴ chie³pa².
20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.
21 I² jm³ jon³ leg⁴³ con³ i⁴ra³he²³ nei² quieh¹ jm³ i⁴son²³ˉ¹ i⁴lion⁴ˉ¹ tieh²la³ con⁴juah⁴ i⁴a⁴hyon²³ Jesucristo. A⁵sia³ hnie³⁴ ra³juah⁴ i⁴qui³ queh² he³²i³, quie¹ hnie³⁴ ra³juah⁴ i⁴m²³i³ i²con²³ Jon⁴dai¹ i⁴ma⁵cag⁴i³ m⁴tyi⁴ quieh¹i³ tionh².
21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
22 Jian³ ŋah³ Cristo ñi⁴jeu⁵, i² tieh²la³ ua²cua⁴³i³ jo³² ta⁵chie³⁴ quieh¹ Jon⁴dai¹, jian³ hei⁴ pi²³i³ júan³ heih⁴³ i²con²³ ángel tionh², jian³ i²con²³ a³ti²quian³ heih⁴³, jian³ a³ti²quian³ ua³pei⁴.
22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
