1 The law can show only a little about the good things that are coming. It cannot show the good things themselves. People come to worship God. But the law can never make them all right by the same sacrifices that are brought every year.
1 Ora, visto que a lei é apenas uma sombra dos bens vindouros, não a imagem real das coisas, nunca consegue aperfeiçoar aqueles que se aproximam de Deus com os mesmos sacrifícios que, ano após ano, continuamente, eles oferecem.
2 If the law could make people all right, they would stop making sacrifices. The people who come to worship would be made clean for all time, and they would not remember the wrong things they had done.
2 Se isto fosse possível, será que os sacrifícios não teriam deixado de ser oferecidos? Porque os que prestam culto, tendo sido purificados uma vez por todas, não mais teriam consciência de pecados!
3 But, by making these sacrifices, they show that they do remember the wrong things they have done.
3 Entretanto, nesses sacrifícios ocorre recordação de pecados todos os anos,
4 The blood of bulls and goats can never clean wrong things from peoples hearts.
4 porque é impossível que o sangue de touros e de bodes remova pecados.
5 That is why Christ said when he came into the world, You did not want sacrifices and gifts. But you made a body for me.
5 Por isso, ao entrar no mundo, Cristo disse: “Sacrifício e oferta não quiseste, mas preparaste um corpo para mim;
6 Animals that are burned for sacrifices, and animals killed to clean away the wrong things that people do, did not satisfy you.
6 não te agradaste de holocaustos e ofertas pelo pecado.
7 Then I said, "See, I have come to do what you, God, want me to do." This is what is written about me in the book of the law.
7 Então eu disse: ‘Eis aqui estou! No rolo do livro está escrito a meu respeito. Estou aqui para fazer, ó Deus, a tua vontade.’”
8 First he said, You did not want sacrifices and gifts, and animals that are given to be burned as sacrifices, and animals killed to clean away peoples wrong ways. You did not like them. These sacrifices are made to obey the law.
8 Depois de dizer, como acima: “Sacrifícios, ofertas, holocaustos e ofertas pelo pecado não quiseste, nem deles te agradaste” — coisas que se oferecem segundo a lei —,
9 Then he said, See, I have come to do what you want me to do. He took away the first kind of sacrifices so that the second kind would remain.
9 num segundo momento acrescentou: “Eis aqui estou para fazer, ó Deus, a tua vontade.” Ele remove o primeiro para estabelecer o segundo.
10 God wanted us to be made holy. We have been made holy by Jesus Christ. He made us holy by once making his body a sacrifice.
10 Nessa vontade é que temos sido santificados, mediante a oferta do corpo de Jesus Cristo, uma vez por todas.
11 Every priest stands day after day doing his work. He makes the same sacrifices many times. But these sacrifices can never clean away the wrong things people have done.
11 Ora, todo sacerdote se apresenta, dia após dia, para exercer o serviço sagrado e oferecer muitas vezes os mesmos sacrifícios, que nunca jamais podem remover pecados.
12 But Christ made one sacrifice to clean away their wrong ways for ever. Then he sat down beside God.
12 Jesus, porém, tendo oferecido, para sempre, um único sacrifício pelos pecados, assentou-se à direita de Deus,
13 Since then, he is waiting till his enemies are put under him.
13 aguardando, daí em diante, até que os seus inimigos sejam postos por estrado dos seus pés.
14 By one sacrifice Christ has made right for ever all those people who are being made holy.
14 Porque, com uma única oferta, aperfeiçoou para sempre os que estão sendo santificados.
15 The Holy Spirit tells us about this also.
15 E disto nos dá testemunho também o Espírito Santo. Porque, após ter dito:
16 First he said, This is the agreement that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts. I will write them in their minds.
16 “Esta é a aliança que farei com eles, depois daqueles dias, diz o Senhor: Imprimirei as minhas leis no coração deles e as inscreverei sobre a sua mente”,
17 Then he also said, I will never remember the wrong things they have done and the times they did not obey.
17 acrescenta: “Também dos seus pecados e das suas iniquidades jamais me lembrarei.”
18 When these wrong things have been forgiven, a sacrifice is not needed for them again.
18 Ora, onde há remissão de pecados, não existe mais necessidade de sacrifício pelo pecado.
19 So, my brothers, we can go into the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus.
19 Portanto, meus irmãos, tendo ousadia para entrar no Santuário, pelo sangue de Jesus,
20 He made a new and living way for us. He opened up Gods way specially for us. It lets us through the big curtain or cloth which hides God from us. This happened when Jesus gave his body as a sacrifice.
20 pelo novo e vivo caminho que ele nos abriu por meio do véu, isto é, pela sua carne,
21 Also, we have a high priest who has charge of Gods people.
21 e tendo um grande sacerdote sobre a casa de Deus,
22 So let us come to him with a true heart. Let us come because we believe all these things. Let us come with our hearts washed clean from our wrong ways. Let us come with our bodies washed with clean water.
22 aproximemo-nos com um coração sincero, em plena certeza de fé, tendo o coração purificado de má consciência e o corpo lavado com água pura.
23 We must hold on to Gods promise that we have said we believed. And we must never let go. He has promised and he will do it.
23 Guardemos firme a confissão da esperança, sem vacilar, pois quem fez a promessa é fiel.
24 Let us think of one another and help one another to love and to do good things.
24 Cuidemos também de nos animar uns aos outros no amor e na prática de boas obras.
25 Do not stop going to church meetings. Some people do stop. But help each other to be strong. You must do it all the more as you see the Great Day coming closer.
25 Não deixemos de nos congregar, como é costume de alguns. Pelo contrário, façamos admoestações, ainda mais agora que vocês veem que o Dia se aproxima.
26 Do we go on doing what is wrong after we know the truth? If we do, then there is no sacrifice any more for the wrong things we do.
26 Porque, se continuarmos a pecar de propósito, depois de termos recebido o conhecimento da verdade, já não resta sacrifício pelos pecados.
27 But we will be judged, and that makes us fear. Gods anger will be like a very hot fire that will burn up those who are against him.
27 Pelo contrário, resta apenas uma terrível expectativa de juízo e fogo vingador prestes a consumir os adversários.
28 Any man who broke the law of Moses was killed, if two or three people proved that he had broken the law. He will not be forgiven.
28 Quem tiver rejeitado a lei de Moisés morre sem misericórdia, pelo depoimento de duas ou três testemunhas.
29 But the person who should have much bigger punishment is the one who turns against the Son of God. That person was made holy by the blood of the new agreement and then calls it nothing. He no longer honours and respects the Spirit who has been so kind to him.
29 Imaginem quanto mais severo deve ser o castigo daquele que pisou o Filho de Deus, profanou o sangue da aliança com o qual foi santificado e insultou o Espírito da graça!
30 We know God who has said, I am the one who will punish people. I will repay them. Also, The Lord will judge his people.
30 Pois conhecemos aquele que disse: “A mim pertence a vingança; eu retribuirei.” E outra vez: “O Senhor julgará o seu povo.”
31 People should fear very much to be punished by the living God.
31 Horrível coisa é cair nas mãos do Deus vivo.
32 Remember the first days when you had the light of Gods truth. In those days you were strong, even though you had to fight against many troubles.
32 Lembrem-se dos dias passados, quando, depois que foram iluminados, vocês sustentaram grande luta e sofrimentos.
33 Sometimes it was because people said and did wrong things to you and everybody saw it. And sometimes it was because you stood with others who had wrong things done to them.
33 Em certos momentos vocês foram transformados em espetáculo, tanto para serem insultados quanto para serem maltratados; em outros vocês se tornaram coparticipantes com aqueles que foram tratados assim.
34 You shared in the troubles of those who were in prison. When your things were taken from you, you were happy. You knew that you had better things in heaven, things that would always belong to you.
34 Porque vocês não apenas se compadeceram dos encarcerados, mas também aceitaram com alegria a espoliação dos seus bens, porque sabiam que tinham um patrimônio superior e durável.
35 So do not stop believing God now. Your faith will bring you much reward.
35 Portanto, não percam a confiança de vocês, porque ela tem grande recompensa.
36 You must not give up believing. Then you will do what God wants you to do. Then you will get what he promised you.
36 Vocês precisam perseverar, para que, havendo feito a vontade de Deus, alcancem a promessa.
37 The holy writings say In a little while, the one who is to come will come. He will not wait any longer.
37 “Porque, ainda dentro de pouco tempo, aquele que vem virá e não irá demorar;
38 If a person does what is right because he believes in God, he will live. If he turns back, I will not be pleased with him.
38 mas o meu justo viverá pela fé; e, se retroceder, dele a minha alma não se agradará.”
39 We are not the people who turn back and so are lost. But we are people who believe, and so we are saved.
39 Nós, porém, não somos dos que retrocedem para a perdição, mas somos da fé, para a preservação da alma.
