1 The law can show only a little about the good things that are coming. It cannot show the good things themselves. People come to worship God. But the law can never make them all right by the same sacrifices that are brought every year.
1 Porque a lei, tendo a sombra dos bens futuros, e não a imagem exata das coisas, não pode nunca, pelos mesmos sacrifícios que continuamente se oferecem de ano em ano, aperfeiçoar os que se chegam a Deus.
2 If the law could make people all right, they would stop making sacrifices. The people who come to worship would be made clean for all time, and they would not remember the wrong things they had done.
2 Doutra maneira, não teriam deixado de ser oferecidos? pois tendo sido uma vez purificados os que prestavam o culto, nunca mais teriam consciência de pecado.
3 But, by making these sacrifices, they show that they do remember the wrong things they have done.
3 Mas nesses sacrifícios cada ano se faz recordação dos pecados,
4 The blood of bulls and goats can never clean wrong things from peoples hearts.
4 porque é impossível que o sangue de touros e de bodes tire pecados.
5 That is why Christ said when he came into the world, You did not want sacrifices and gifts. But you made a body for me.
5 Pelo que, entrando no mundo, diz: Sacrifício e oferta não quiseste, mas um corpo me preparaste;
6 Animals that are burned for sacrifices, and animals killed to clean away the wrong things that people do, did not satisfy you.
6 não te deleitaste em holocaustos e oblações pelo pecado.
7 Then I said, "See, I have come to do what you, God, want me to do." This is what is written about me in the book of the law.
7 Então eu disse: Eis-me aqui {no rol do livro está escrito de mim} para fazer, ó Deus, a tua vontade.
8 First he said, You did not want sacrifices and gifts, and animals that are given to be burned as sacrifices, and animals killed to clean away peoples wrong ways. You did not like them. These sacrifices are made to obey the law.
8 Tendo dito acima: Sacrifício e ofertas e holocaustos e oblações pelo pecado não quiseste, nem neles te deleitaste {os quais se oferecem segundo a lei};
9 Then he said, See, I have come to do what you want me to do. He took away the first kind of sacrifices so that the second kind would remain.
9 agora disse: Eis-me aqui para fazer a tua vontade. Ele tira o primeiro, para estabelecer o segundo.
10 God wanted us to be made holy. We have been made holy by Jesus Christ. He made us holy by once making his body a sacrifice.
10 É nessa vontade dele que temos sido santificados pela oferta do corpo de Jesus Cristo, feita uma vez para sempre.
11 Every priest stands day after day doing his work. He makes the same sacrifices many times. But these sacrifices can never clean away the wrong things people have done.
11 Ora, todo sacerdote se apresenta dia após dia, ministrando e oferecendo muitas vezes os mesmos sacrifícios, que nunca podem tirar pecados;
12 But Christ made one sacrifice to clean away their wrong ways for ever. Then he sat down beside God.
12 mas este, havendo oferecido um único sacrifício pelos pecados, assentou-se para sempre à direita de Deus,
13 Since then, he is waiting till his enemies are put under him.
13 daí por diante esperando, até que os seus inimigos sejam postos por escabelo de seus pés.
14 By one sacrifice Christ has made right for ever all those people who are being made holy.
14 Pois com uma só oferta tem aperfeiçoado para sempre os que estão sendo santificados.
15 The Holy Spirit tells us about this also.
15 E o Espírito Santo também no-lo testifica, porque depois de haver dito:
16 First he said, This is the agreement that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts. I will write them in their minds.
16 Este é o pacto que farei com eles depois daqueles dias, diz o Senhor: Porei as minhas leis em seus corações, e as escreverei em seu entendimento; acrescenta:
17 Then he also said, I will never remember the wrong things they have done and the times they did not obey.
17 E não me lembrarei mais de seus pecados e de suas iniqüidades.
18 When these wrong things have been forgiven, a sacrifice is not needed for them again.
18 Ora, onde há remissão destes, não há mais oferta pelo pecado.
19 So, my brothers, we can go into the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus.
19 Tendo pois, irmãos, ousadia para entrarmos no santíssimo lugar, pelo sangue de Jesus,
20 He made a new and living way for us. He opened up Gods way specially for us. It lets us through the big curtain or cloth which hides God from us. This happened when Jesus gave his body as a sacrifice.
20 pelo caminho que ele nos inaugurou, caminho novo e vivo, através do véu, isto é, da sua carne,
21 Also, we have a high priest who has charge of Gods people.
21 e tendo um grande sacerdote sobre a casa de Deus,
22 So let us come to him with a true heart. Let us come because we believe all these things. Let us come with our hearts washed clean from our wrong ways. Let us come with our bodies washed with clean water.
22 cheguemo-nos com verdadeiro coração, em inteira certeza de fé; tendo o coração purificado da má consciência, e o corpo lavado com água limpa,
23 We must hold on to Gods promise that we have said we believed. And we must never let go. He has promised and he will do it.
23 retenhamos inabalável a confissão da nossa esperança, porque fiel é aquele que fez a promessa;
24 Let us think of one another and help one another to love and to do good things.
24 e consideremo-nos uns aos outros, para nos estimularmos ao amor e às boas obras,
25 Do not stop going to church meetings. Some people do stop. But help each other to be strong. You must do it all the more as you see the Great Day coming closer.
25 não abandonando a nossa congregação, como é costume de alguns, antes admoestando-nos uns aos outros; e tanto mais, quanto vedes que se vai aproximando aquele dia.
26 Do we go on doing what is wrong after we know the truth? If we do, then there is no sacrifice any more for the wrong things we do.
26 Porque se voluntariamente continuarmos no pecado, depois de termos recebido o pleno conhecimento da verdade, já não resta mais sacrifício pelos pecados,
27 But we will be judged, and that makes us fear. Gods anger will be like a very hot fire that will burn up those who are against him.
27 mas uma expectação terrível de juízo, e um ardor de fogo que há de devorar os adversários.
28 Any man who broke the law of Moses was killed, if two or three people proved that he had broken the law. He will not be forgiven.
28 Havendo alguém rejeitado a lei de Moisés, morre sem misericórdia, pela palavra de duas ou três testemunhas;
29 But the person who should have much bigger punishment is the one who turns against the Son of God. That person was made holy by the blood of the new agreement and then calls it nothing. He no longer honours and respects the Spirit who has been so kind to him.
29 de quanto maior castigo cuidais vós será julgado merecedor aquele que pisar o Filho de Deus, e tiver por profano o sangue do pacto, com que foi santificado, e ultrajar ao Espírito da graça?
30 We know God who has said, I am the one who will punish people. I will repay them. Also, The Lord will judge his people.
30 Pois conhecemos aquele que disse: Minha é a vingança, eu retribuirei. E outra vez: O Senhor julgará o seu povo.
31 People should fear very much to be punished by the living God.
31 Horrenda coisa é cair nas mãos do Deus vivo.
32 Remember the first days when you had the light of Gods truth. In those days you were strong, even though you had to fight against many troubles.
32 Lembrai-vos, porém, dos dias passados, em que, depois de serdes iluminados, suportastes grande combate de aflições;
33 Sometimes it was because people said and did wrong things to you and everybody saw it. And sometimes it was because you stood with others who had wrong things done to them.
33 pois por um lado fostes feitos espetáculo tanto por vitupérios como por tribulações, e por outro vos tornastes companheiros dos que assim foram tratados.
34 You shared in the troubles of those who were in prison. When your things were taken from you, you were happy. You knew that you had better things in heaven, things that would always belong to you.
34 Pois não só vos compadecestes dos que estavam nas prisões, mas também com gozo aceitastes a espoliação dos vossos bens, sabendo que vós tendes uma possessão melhor e permanente.
35 So do not stop believing God now. Your faith will bring you much reward.
35 Não lanceis fora, pois, a vossa confiança, que tem uma grande recompensa.
36 You must not give up believing. Then you will do what God wants you to do. Then you will get what he promised you.
36 Porque necessitais de perseverança, para que, depois de haverdes feito a vontade de Deus, alcanceis a promessa.
37 The holy writings say In a little while, the one who is to come will come. He will not wait any longer.
37 Pois ainda em bem pouco tempo aquele que há de vir virá, e não tardará.
38 If a person does what is right because he believes in God, he will live. If he turns back, I will not be pleased with him.
38 Mas o meu justo viverá da fé; e se ele recuar, a minha alma não tem prazer nele.
39 We are not the people who turn back and so are lost. But we are people who believe, and so we are saved.
39 Nós, porém, não somos daqueles que recuam para a perdição, mas daqueles que crêem para a conservação da alma.
