1 Then I was given a long stick. And he said, Go and measure Gods temple and the altar, and count the people who worship there.
1 Depois disso recebi uma régua de medir, parecida com um caniço, e me disseram: — Levante-se, tire as medidas do Templo de Deus e do altar e conte as pessoas que estão adorando no Templo.
2 Do not measure the part outside the temple. Leave it out, because it has been given to the people who do not believe in God. They will walk in the holy city for forty-two months.
2 Porém não tire as medidas do pátio exterior do Templo, pois esse pátio foi dado aos pagãos, que pisarão a Cidade Santa durante quarenta e dois meses .
3 I will give power to the two men who speak for me. They will speak words from God. They will continue to speak for forty-two months. They will wear clothes like people wear to show they are sad.
3 Eu enviarei as minhas duas testemunhas, vestidas com roupa feita de pano grosseiro, e elas anunciarão a mensagem de Deus durante mil duzentos e sessenta dias.
4 These two men are the two olive trees and the two lamps which stand in front of the Lord of the earth.
4 As duas testemunhas são as duas oliveiras e os dois candelabros que estão em pé diante do Senhor do mundo inteiro.
5 If any one wants to hurt them, fire comes out of their mouths and burns up their enemies. If anyone wants to hurt them, he must be killed in this way.
5 Se os seus inimigos tentam maltratá-las, sai fogo da boca dessas duas testemunhas e acaba com eles. Assim, quem quiser maltratá-las precisa ser morto.
6 These two men can stop the sky from raining all the days that they speak words from God. And they can turn the water into blood. They can bring all kinds of trouble to the earth as often as they want.
6 Elas têm autoridade para fechar o céu a fim de que não chova durante o tempo em que anunciam a mensagem de Deus. Têm autoridade também sobre as águas para que virem sangue. Têm autoridade ainda para ferir a terra com todo tipo de pragas, quantas vezes quiserem.
7 There is a beast which is a wild animal in the big hole that has no bottom. When the two men have finished talking, the beast will come up out of the hole. It will fight with the men. It will win over them and kill them.
7 Quando as duas testemunhas acabarem de anunciar a sua mensagem, o monstro que vem do abismo lutará contra elas. Ele vencerá e as matará,
8 Their dead bodies will lie in the street of the big city. This city is called, Sodom and Egypt, because it is like them. Also it is where our Lord was nailed to a cross.
8 e os seus corpos ficarão na rua principal da grande cidade onde o Senhor delas foi crucificado. O nome simbólico daquela cidade é Sodoma ou Egito.
9 People from many nations, tribes, languages, and countries will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days. They will not let anyone bury them.
9 Durante três dias e meio, os povos de todas as nações, tribos, línguas e raças olharão para esses dois corpos e não deixarão que sejam sepultados.
10 The people on earth will be very glad to see them dead. They will have a happy time. They will give gifts to each other because these two men from God had troubled the people on the earth.
10 Os povos da terra ficarão felizes com a morte dessas duas testemunhas. Vão comemorar e mandar presentes uns aos outros porque esses dois profetas trouxeram muito sofrimento para a humanidade.
11 But after the three and a half days, life came into them. They stood on their feet. And all those who saw them were very much afraid.
11 Mas depois desses três dias e meio um sopro de vida veio de Deus e entrou neles, e eles se levantaram. E todas as pessoas que os viram ficaram com um medo terrível.
12 Then they heard a loud voice from the sky saying to them, Come up here! They went up into the sky in a cloud. And the men who hated them saw them go up.
12 Aí os dois profetas ouviram uma voz forte, que vinha do céu e lhes dizia: — Subam aqui! Enquanto os seus inimigos olhavam, os dois profetas subiram ao céu numa nuvem.
13 At that time, the earth shook very much. A tenth part of the city fell down. Seven thousand people were killed by the shaking of the earth. The other people were very much afraid and they give glory to God in heaven.
13 Naquele momento houve um violento terremoto. A décima parte da cidade foi destruída, e morreram sete mil pessoas. As outras ficaram com muito medo e louvaram a grandeza do Deus do céu.
14 The second trouble is gone. The third trouble is coming soon.
14 O segundo “ai” já passou. Mas olhem! O terceiro “ai” virá logo.
15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet. Loud voices were heard in the sky. They said, The kingdom of the world now belongs to our Lord and to his Christ. He will rule for ever and ever.
15 Então o sétimo anjo tocou a sua trombeta, e houve no céu vozes fortes, que diziam: — O poder para governar o mundo pertence agora a Deus, que é o Senhor nosso, e ao
16 Then the twenty-four leaders who sat on their thrones in front of God kneeled down and worshipped God.
16 Aí os vinte e quatro líderes, que estavam sentados nos seus tronos diante de Deus, ajoelharam-se, encostaram o rosto no chão e adoraram a Deus,
17 They said, We thank you, Lord God, who has all power. You live now and you always have lived. We thank you because you have now used your power and started to rule.
17 dizendo: — Ó Senhor Deus, Todo-Poderoso, que és e que eras! Nós te damos graças porque tu tens usado o teu grande poder e começaste a reinar.
18 The people who did not believe you became angry. But now you are angry. It is time for dead people to be judged. And it is time to reward your servants, the prophets of God, and your holy people and all who respect your name-those who are great and those who are not so great. It is time to destroy those who destroy the earth.
18 Os pagãos estão muito furiosos porque já chegou o momento de mostrares a tua e a hora de os mortos serem julgados. Chegou o momento de recompensares os teus e todo o teu povo, e todos os que te tanto os importantes como os humildes. Chegou o momento de destruíres os que matam pessoas na terra!
19 Then the temple of God in heaven was opened. The box where his agreement was kept was seen inside the temple. And there was lightning, loud noises, and thunder. The earth shook and much rain, like stones, fell.
19 Então se abriu o templo de Deus, que está no céu, e a arca da aliança foi vista lá dentro. E houve relâmpagos, estrondos, trovões, um terremoto e uma forte chuva de pedra.
